Tony has absolutely everything to be proud of!! He's not only competed in one of the hardest and most competitive divisions in one of the toughest sports in the world but he's also been phenomenal. A loss in MMA is not a bad thing, specially when you consider Tony's resume. He can be incredibly proud of that 💯 🙏🏼
this was one of the best interviews Ariel has had, this is by far my favorite tony interview. man sounds healthy and very determined. so excited to see where he goes from here!
Connor McGregor fought 2 times in light weight division both fights for title . And Tony who has been fighting in light weight for over 7 years haven't gotten any title shot. Talk about hypocrisy

Proto Man 2020 you’d be insane to think khabib avoided him , khabib fought opponents who were more dangerous than tony , the only reason tony vs khabib was interesting was because of tony’s ability to strike while on his back , that’s it , don’t fool yourself

@@justagoose7741 Khabib always wanted GSP and it was Khabibs Fathers dream fight and GSP is down for only Khabib fight so...we'll see.. Tony shouldve waited especially after cutting weight twice like a dope
@@Leg3ndKilla687 Yeah I know, but that fight has no real stakes and little meaning over the sport. What happens if one of them wins or loses? If GSP wins it's "oh he's still got it... but he still won't fight ever again" and it's basically Khabib vacating the title with extra steps. If Khabib wins, it's "Khabib beat an out-of-prime retired GSP so they're both still goated." If they don't fight, the sport stays the same, if they do, it stays the same. Now if you look at Tony vs Khabib (assuming Khabib beats Gaethje), it's a rivalry between two opposites, two opponents that paralleled each other, both with 12-fight win streaks completely dominating the division. The fight has been booked 5 times before and not worked for a million reasons. Stylistically it's very interesting as well becaude even though Khabib's striking is underrated, he's never faced an opponent as dynamic, unorthodox and creative as Tony on the feet, no one with such a good cardio, aaand Tony is also strong when taken down (he'll never submit Khabib but Tony's the type of guy that pounds you while he's in the ground, plus the subs are still a threat). On the other hand you have one of the best grapplers/wrestler in mma history who's completely dominated his whole career, with good cardio and very physically strong. Imo it's a much more interesting fight both in terms of style and relevance to the sport. So what's at stake in this fight? If Khabib wins he cements his legacy as someone who could dominate any kind of fighter and goes 30-0, if Tony wins he finally becomes champion (after being unfairly stripped of the interim belt and being unable to get the title shot multiple times) and defeats the most dominant fighter of the division, both make history. Of course it's not nearly as exciting or "poetic" as it would've been in UFC 249... buuut Tony's loss against a striker doesn't mean he's not Khabib's greatest threat if he defeats Gaethje. Anyway sorry for writing a novel here but that's why I'm not a huge fan of GSP being his last fight. TL;DR: GSP has nothing to prove, if Khabib beats him he doesnt prove that much, Tony has a loot to prove, if Khabib beats him he cementd himself as (a) GOAT.
Khabib wants GSP because thats was his fathers wish. i think he talked to Dana and Dana will make it happen. Who knows khabib may retire after that one.

Tony Ferguson is the type of guy to climb all the way back to the top.
Edit: click "view replies" if you'd like to see some madkid douchebags.
Jay R. Shut up , the meme is over
Lol Lol 😂
Tony got bullied
Climb all the way back? he is #3
your a casual
W Baldwin idiot
Tony is a pretty well-spoken dude, I like him.
You haven't seen his other interviews. He's definitely my favourite MMA fighter of all time but i worry, the guys getting on with age and the head trauma might be a lot. Like his wife once filed a restraining order on him because he ws trying to find "the people in the walls".
@@demilich867 yeah all fighters struggle. I did some hard sparring years back and I still feel the affects..
@Oo oO Tony has nice lips
Tony Ferguson- what’s up how is everyone doing ?
Ariel - everybody is doing great
Me- speak for yourself Ariel I’m living on the streets
Loool
😂😂😂😂😂
For real man, some of us are close to living on the street. This quarantine got people out of work and not making money. Unemployment checks ain't cutting it.
The level of Tony energy is unbelivable
How can you not love Tony, the man's a true artist in and out
wow tony is cool, he’ s talking without even moving his mouth.
He would make a good vantriliquist
Skills
No matter what people say, tony is still the man. Helped me trough a lot of tough times. Thank you champ!!!
Good to hear him sounding healthy.
He almost admitted that unnecessary 2nd weight cut was really detrimental.
Bob Houghton it was tough for sure but he’s also 36 years old at some point it catches up to you
@@davidferrer678 Yeah. All the more reason not to push it twice so close together
I remember some MMA commentators saying what a boss move it was, I thought it was nuts.
*Takes 147 significant strikes from an elite striker*
Yeah I've taken a Couple of Hits
@Ace A If anything those punches healed Tony's brain and body
Damage for a big bag of cash. The hurt biz.
@Ace A Trinaldo might not be at the top but still competing and winning at 40+ at LW.
Ace A
Idk man, some people are a different breed and can take almost anything and recover
Tony's the type of guy who lost a fight and love mma even more.
He gonna come back way more dangerous
Tony is still the man. No doubt this man comes back strong. He sounds great
Nah, Tony deserve the winner on Oct 24. not a fight before. You trippin’ espn!
Hopefully
Did it for Edgar they can do it for Ferguson
I'd like to see him fighting against Poirier. If Tony wins that fight in fashion it means that he did the adjusment on the fly. i hope that fight to be the same day of Khabib vs Gaetje
I legit hope Justin tests positive for COVID and Tony steps in just like Jorge did for Burns against Usman. Then Justin faces the winner in 2021 after he recovers
@Oo oO Connor doesn't want to fight against Tony. Because i 'd like watch his matchup against Poirier who beat Gaetje.
18:26 Helwani's life flashed before his eyes.
Props for Tony, staying so still during the interview
that's the joke brother
Zachary Hoy it was so clearly a joke bro calm down lol
Zachary Hoy, jokes on you it was tony standing still
Zach got in his feels today. Go hit a bag and blow some steam.
😂😂
Tony has absolutely everything to be proud of!! He's not only competed in one of the hardest and most competitive divisions in one of the toughest sports in the world but he's also been phenomenal. A loss in MMA is not a bad thing, specially when you consider Tony's resume. He can be incredibly proud of that 💯 🙏🏼

“ I wasn’t happy with that fight, I enjoyed getting hit but I wasn’t happy” lol who says such a thing other than the great Elcucuy.
this was one of the best interviews Ariel has had, this is by far my favorite tony interview. man sounds healthy and very determined. so excited to see where he goes from here!
This is a very calm Tony, a very relaxed Tony Ferguson. Sounds very clear, very motivated. This might be the scariest Cucuy we've seen yet. I love it.
Most clarity I've heard Tony speak with. Love the guy!
Connor McGregor fought 2 times in light weight division both fights for title .
And Tony who has been fighting in light weight for over 7 years haven't gotten any title shot.
Talk about hypocrisy
Stop it. We all know the reasons why he hasn't fought for the belt, and it mostly has nothing to do with the UFC.
You are dellusional
Conor was already a champion of another division. Stop it.
Totally agree. Thats the same point khabib made about conor.
@@allenmk138 it has to do with the UFC and mcgregor

I'm a huge tony fan but he literally has talked about how he likes punishing his opponents lol

Stfu😄
I strive to have even half of Tony's perseverance, heart, and grit.. His outlook on life and especially defeat is admirable
For the first time he actually sounds happy
And well-spoken
- Hey Tony, What's sup?
- Yea you know Im an athlete man, I can adjust on the fly, you feel me.
He adjusts... except when Justin was punching in his face. Grappling was still there.
Ariel: Hey To-
Tony: I'm still great guys. really. Did i mention how great i was?
Ariel fix Tony’s stats. It’s not “former interm lightweight champion” its “undisputed lightweight champion” cause he deserves it after everyone avoided him for years.
.....umm... He just lost.....
Proto Man 2020 you’d be insane to think khabib avoided him , khabib fought opponents who were more dangerous than tony , the only reason tony vs khabib was interesting was because of tony’s ability to strike while on his back , that’s it , don’t fool yourself
Proto Man 2020 i do believe that “homie” , you talk pure nonsense
Proto Man 2020 he’s fighting justin not tony because justin just smashed tony and is the interm champ, so he has to fight justin , such a stupid thing to say
Harun Lari K
Brilliant interview- even more respect for Tony “Billy Badass” Ferguson
Ufc screwing him, yet as always Ariel thinking about fighters.
Tony spoke for all the time I've actually missed him😂 I'm content now.
Tony sounds so normal in this interview
I assume it was all an act in media...they do need to sell tickets by putting up a persona lol
Yeah man big time
yeah he really has 2 different sides. Vintage Tony Ferguson and Somewhat Normal Tony Ferguson.
@@solomonnie6108 most likely an act but I bet he's still a rather eccentric dude, my guess is he just removed his filter to entertain himself and UFC fans amidst all the drama and media-related stuff. He sounds very focused and heatlhy now though, which to me is good news.
"I enjoy getting hit" - Boogie Man
I mean seriously the way he ate those heavy shots real human would've died
Yeah he usually doesn’t get hit that much but you can tell the 2 weight cuts got to him
Suri yeah I’m shocked how he didn’t get knocked out tbh cutting weight twice in 30 days especially how much weight he loses , Tony’s just different but if you don’t think the weight cuts affected him then idk WhT to say
This is a great interview from Tony. Inspiring to hear someone be so positive after a tough loss.
Imagine if Khabib beats Gaethje and for his final opponent he picks Tony 😩
Apparently Khabib wants GSP :( but hopefully Tony vs Khabib happens instead, it just hast to happen...
@@justagoose7741 no gsp
At the end of the day tony really didn’t lose he just added some drama to his legacy so when he gets the belt it’s that much more crazy
