    • @L_O_S_
      @L_O_S_ 4 роки тому +52

      JRT Basically Tony is saying the wins are cool and all but the losses are the ones that stick out to him the most..the losses are what make him a better fighter because he’s able to see the mistakes he made and correct them..he also said he doesn’t like having his head all up in the clouds after so many wins, he likes to keep a level head and be humble about it. He starts talking about all this from 14:30 - 15:08

He's not only competed in one of the hardest and most competitive divisions in one of the toughest sports in the world but he's also been phenomenal. A loss in MMA is not a bad thing, specially when you consider Tony's resume. He can be incredibly proud of that 💯 🙏🏼

      @justagoose7741 4 роки тому +4

      @@Leg3ndKilla687 Yeah I know, but that fight has no real stakes and little meaning over the sport. What happens if one of them wins or loses? If GSP wins it's "oh he's still got it... but he still won't fight ever again" and it's basically Khabib vacating the title with extra steps. If Khabib wins, it's "Khabib beat an out-of-prime retired GSP so they're both still goated." If they don't fight, the sport stays the same, if they do, it stays the same. Now if you look at Tony vs Khabib (assuming Khabib beats Gaethje), it's a rivalry between two opposites, two opponents that paralleled each other, both with 12-fight win streaks completely dominating the division. The fight has been booked 5 times before and not worked for a million reasons. Stylistically it's very interesting as well becaude even though Khabib's striking is underrated, he's never faced an opponent as dynamic, unorthodox and creative as Tony on the feet, no one with such a good cardio, aaand Tony is also strong when taken down (he'll never submit Khabib but Tony's the type of guy that pounds you while he's in the ground, plus the subs are still a threat). On the other hand you have one of the best grapplers/wrestler in mma history who's completely dominated his whole career, with good cardio and very physically strong. Imo it's a much more interesting fight both in terms of style and relevance to the sport. So what's at stake in this fight? If Khabib wins he cements his legacy as someone who could dominate any kind of fighter and goes 30-0, if Tony wins he finally becomes champion (after being unfairly stripped of the interim belt and being unable to get the title shot multiple times) and defeats the most dominant fighter of the division, both make history. Of course it's not nearly as exciting or "poetic" as it would've been in UFC 249... buuut Tony's loss against a striker doesn't mean he's not Khabib's greatest threat if he defeats Gaethje. Anyway sorry for writing a novel here but that's why I'm not a huge fan of GSP being his last fight.
      TL;DR: GSP has nothing to prove, if Khabib beats him he doesnt prove that much, Tony has a loot to prove, if Khabib beats him he cementd himself as (a) GOAT.
