Great video! In the Netherlands we have something similar and even the name means the same thing, we call them pepernoten. The only difference is that we don't eat them for Christmas but during another festive on December 5th.

Even have some CDs to learn Danish, but haven't started. It seems so difficult. My foreign language training was French, so whenever I attempt a word in my readings, I pronounce it as an English speaker with a French accent. 🤦♀️

Also the grreting is “glædelig jul” it sounds like you are saying “glade jul” which is kinda the same as saying “glad Christmas” at someone. I really enjoy your videos, it’s funny to see your own culture from the outside.
Generally, if you're an adult cooking these on your own, you'll just do the dough sausages, cut them, and bake them without additional shaping. You only really make them into the tiny rolls if you have access to free labour (kids). At least, that's how it seems to go in my family.

Klejner are fried - most families with kids opt for baking cookies 😄 the adult women made the klejner when I was a child; no kids in the kitchen! We made them without yeast, I believe there's some regional tradition to that?

Kender du Laura Ingalls (Det lille hus på prærien) Hun levede jo i virkeligheden, og bøgerne er baseret på hendes erindringer. You should really try the Pebernødde recipe from ALT called Pebernødder ala Lagkagehuset. They are the best

You can't freeze pebernødder if they have been baked. Freeze the dough if you must, or just put the cookies in a tin.
I actually did freeze them. They only lasted about three days in there, since my boys were ready to eat another batch. LOL
