    enjoyed that Andy , remember my dad had to build a herring bone fire place on a big fancy house in wanstead would be 70/s he made up a frame on the floor and cut all the bricks to suit like a big jigsaw

      That's a good way to do it on a smallish panel, if you draw diagonals you can centre it every way to get equal cuts all round 👍

    I had for 10 foot panels to do in herringbone with a reclaim brick. I had my labourer measuring all the bricks and separating them so they all the same size. Made it a little bit easier if it was still a pain in the arse

    Great video Andy. I had never attempted herringbone and made the mistake by filming it on my first attempt with no research, got absolutely ruined in the comments! haha

    Andy, a quick question for you if you don’t mind. When somebody joints up too early (mortar too wet) and it gets that shine on it and turns white. Is there anything I can do to get it slightly darker to match the rest of the wall? I thought about scrubbing it with acid but not sure that would work. Any advice would be greatly appreciated 👍

    • @bricklayersworldwithandy6277
      @bricklayersworldwithandy6277  Рік тому

      There are effervescent cleaners but i dont know if they work, it eventually disappears but can take years, try acid on a small piece or maybe brick tinting.
