enjoyed that Andy , remember my dad had to build a herring bone fire place on a big fancy house in wanstead would be 70/s he made up a frame on the floor and cut all the bricks to suit like a big jigsaw
Square off plum and center on a sheet of ply all cuts are equaland all joints are equal carpenter same as setting out all arches im supristed at you andy seen your podcast on eliptical arches and it was spot on loved the bit of geometryeasly no your old school im 66 and worked in london for 30 years keep up the good work love your channel very clever
Clever man...will make a change to see you with a rod in your hand rather than a trowel...have a great trip...and good luck...thanks for another great video Andy🎣
I had for 10 foot panels to do in herringbone with a reclaim brick. I had my labourer measuring all the bricks and separating them so they all the same size. Made it a little bit easier if it was still a pain in the arse
Great video Andy. I had never attempted herringbone and made the mistake by filming it on my first attempt with no research, got absolutely ruined in the comments! haha
Said you go home on the guys away climbing up building. A would go home if had to do them herribone panels lol. Great work buddy enjoy the holiday’s Andy.
Andy, a quick question for you if you don’t mind. When somebody joints up too early (mortar too wet) and it gets that shine on it and turns white. Is there anything I can do to get it slightly darker to match the rest of the wall? I thought about scrubbing it with acid but not sure that would work. Any advice would be greatly appreciated 👍
There are effervescent cleaners but i dont know if they work, it eventually disappears but can take years, try acid on a small piece or maybe brick tinting.
I myself am a 61 year old bricklayer and have been on the trowel all my life, love Andys work and love his tutting and blowing, bless you Andy

That's a good way to do it on a smallish panel, if you draw diagonals you can centre it every way to get equal cuts all round 👍
Love the video Andy enjoy your trip fella 🛠👍🎣

Nice work Andy ❤much more 😎interesting 👍🏻than I can lay thousands of bricks all day I earn loads of money
Dry as a Saharan Camel ;o) Good stuff always makes me chuckle - craftsman though. Industry is losing blokes like this unfortunately.
Have a good fishing holiday mate .
Thats a good tradesmen if your not happy change it .what do you reckon talksport spurs to win the prem .
Who knows, any injuries and we are fckd , squad to small. 👍
Defo needs the right frame of mind .
Filling the cavity with Insulation defeats the purpose of the Cavity in my opinion
Building regs say fill the cavities
Might be because Charlie is building flats
Hope your on day work 😂
