It's because they where costing more in fixing than the rent for people it's self also drugs got into the area became a bad place to be so there all comming down today 11th of October
TheRagingApplee the flats where built around 1968 come the late 70’s early 80’s it had become rundown the shopkeepers in the flats started leaving after the local supermarket which was presto relocated to the newly built springburn shopping centre the shops used to be really busy the flats where a great place to go play i lived across from the flats in oatfield street but the flats became rundown full of drug abuse people throwing alsorts of stuff out of windows bags of water ash trays darts anything they fancied the flats through time became not fit for purpose i have alot a good memories playing over the swings in the flats the castle bmx course the high chap in the railway waste ground at the back of the flats but it was time for them to come down they where in a bad state of disrepair

There was more space the other side of the building. That said, as the rest were coming down it wouldn't have mattered if it hit next door.
