Hey Hey, I haven't watched the entire video yet but the Front Main Seal has to be Installed Flush with the block.. The block off plate is up against the main seal because it isn't driven flush with the block..
Hello, yes it was very slightly off, looking back into it. I've just installed a new one over this past weekend actually, which sits perfect in the block. That video will hopefully be up by Friday.
Thank you for these videos. I have tons of questions for dealership after the takeaways from your parts 1-4. I have an x6 now 10 days at dealership (after 2nd tow back) since belt was shredded. Fortunately, I had my OFHG leak repaired along with new tensioner & belt 6 mo ago in December ($1600). So under part warranty and all the residual damage of the belt shredding & sucked into engine is being done as "goodwill". All they told me was that they were dropping the oil pan to clean out the fragments, I have no idea how bad this was before your videos.
I'm sorry to hear you're going through that, but I'm glad the videos were helpful to you! It's a shame that they never did a recall to fix the crank seal's design or design a plate like Oxwerkz did to prevent this issue from happening.

Ty and definitely got a good seal.. putting in on this weekend.. along with several other boxes of goodies.. lol. Wife gonna trip..
lol sounds like a good time. Good luck!
What is the manufacturer of that plate that protects the front crank seal? Im in the same situation as you were in these vids
The one in this vid is from Oxwerkz, but it took me well over a month to get it. I'd suggest going with an eBay crank seal protector or VTT.

Hey dude did you replace the bolts for the pick up tube. I am in the middle of this myself?
Yes, I replaced every bolt that I removed.
Foul News do you have the party number for those?
