Kinda like the Bismarck that I caught looking the other way 8km away from my Arizona a few weeks ago. He went down after 7 citadel hits from full health. Full broadside of 12 14in guns into him. Ever seen a guy go postal in chat I did that day. No longer have the replay. Computer smoked the hard drive.
@@ERAUsnow It's not hard when your shells are still going almost full speed and hitting at 90 degrees. The USA's AP from their 14 inch guns are decent at longer range. Close in they're better than the German 15s why they move faster and weigh just 200kg less. However their moving 100ms faster. The USA's 14 inch gun was designed to go thru the armor of the Japanese Fuso and Nagami class battleships.
@@haroldbenton979 Uhm.. Dude... I think your shells drop enough or something to slip under the citadel because YAMATO SHELLS cannot punch trough the turtleback of a Bismarck at 8 km... Ive citadelled GK's and republiques in a Bismarck but thats not because i punch trough the turtleback, its because i slip shells under or just trough the cheek so it sticks in between the turtleback and citadel. I refuse to believe you shot at the belt armor and punched trough the heavily angled turtleback. Full penetrations is the max you would get.

@SmashStomp Inc :: Massachusetts, are ok in firepower, but they lack the Iron Armor, i know cuz i have the Black Massachusetts B and only reason i grab it cuz the price was right, and i am a beginner, and the grind is long too long to get i good decent ship...So dont let them seasoned vets get you down, when they say " basic wallet warrior"...if you have the money enjoy ur play....cuz none got there tier 9's and 10's in a couple months.

When I sail my own fully secondary specced Kurfurst, I feel like I have an extra cruiser strapped to each side.
If only my Georgia had 6 more guns 😭.... I have the speed of a destroyer, 18-in guns, and 20 secondaries with 11.3 range that reload every 3.4 seconds.
I love my Großer Kurfürst, especially when Wargaming give me a mission to get 500 secondary hits and I think to myself two battles max :)

@@1stPCFerret I needed three battles :Ü First 359 hits, next 140..........so I got mad, fired up some Eurobeats and got a 467 secondary hits game to get that last fuckin one...enemy team had 5 destroyers and 4 cruisers each, they all wandered too close to my ship so my gunners had a field day.
However I mostly finish people off with my main guns (as is quite normal) and only ever managed 2 kills with secondaries in a single game tops.

Not even a week into 2019 and I have been given two hilarious WoWs videos already. Had to wipe the coffee off the screen twice, laughed my ass off twice. And again, I don't play WoT nor WoWs (the latter at least sometimes), but this is why i subbed Jingles. To me, there is nothing more entertaining on TV nor on youtube. The selection of gameplays combined with the hilarious commentary makes this all worth while.
As a fellow Kurfurst driver, I tip my hat to you JDog, that's one *hell* of an impressive match.

In CBT my *HMS Warspite* got the following tally: "Target Hits x 3; Ships Sunk x 3" and nothing else. Incidentally, that battle was when I understood how maneuverable the Warspite is.
5 out of 7 kills done with close quarters in the Gneisenau, replay was sent to Jingles, but since he mentioned he never saw 5 CQE kills before I guess he hasn´t seen the e-mail

I would at least keep Basics of Survivability (over BFT). Sacrificing all of your survivability for secondaries just kinda makes you HE spam cruiser food.
@@britmachine722 On the other hand, it's pretty much that kind of build that makes Kurfürst the great brawler it can be. I'm not sure if it's the absolute strongest build, but it's damn much fun. I can always take out my Yamato for tanking.
You CAN leave out IFHE on the Kurfürst. The secondaries have enough caliber and the German HE penetration rule, so MOST secondary hits will penetrate the target even without IFHE. In addition, you'll have a better fire chance as well. For a brawling build Fire Prevention can be a better choice, Concealment Expert not so much.

What Britt machine says is true... IFHE is kinda optional... German Guns firing HE get caliber/4 for pen, not the caliber/6 of other nations
About the Friedrich der Große, apparently there is a resource in the game called 'Free xp', which can be used to skip ships you don't want to grind through

I grinded through it, it was hell. If you can skip that pile of shit of a battleship do it

@@adadianian it did get buffed indeed, but that Ship is just still plain awful to play. The Guns seem like the pinnacle of German Drunk Shooting Skills, you wouldnt even hit a goddamn barn door from 5 Metres away. Concealment as with the GK is just a Joke so once youre able to get into a good fighting position youre mainly wittled down by HE Spam or Super Structure AP Volleys.
It just has no Fun Component to it, the GK gets mostly focussed out aswell but atleast im having fun playing it and annoying the hell out of People with the 11.6km Secondarys
Then again the amount of FXP needed to skip a Tier 9 is pretty immense for most players.
The Kurfürst is the second most played BB of them all on EU right after the Yamato. It even beats the Montana by Battles played, even though the Montana was in the game long before the Kurfürst.
It's probably the weakest T10 BB too, in spite of what Jingles would be implying here.

@@Chaosdemon4444 Not so much. I have 700 games in GK, I know what I'm talking about. It's the the most forgiving (and for that reason also sometimes the most fun) of the T10 BBs, but the tankiness comes at the cost of having poor guns. The chief maladies are
1) Terrible turret angles
2) Short range
3) German (ie. worst in game) dispersion profile....... (which, ironically, has it's only redeeming feature when shooting broadsides at extreme range. Which you then ofc can't reach).
The secondaries are only there to make up for the trollish German dispersion. Just go into the training room and look at how much deadlier the Montana's main guns are at

If I can pull 154k damage out of my ass playing half-braindead, in the first game I played in the ship, it's obviously not a bad ship, quite the opposite really. For example, if you took a team of 12 AI GKs and a team of 12 AI yamatos, the GKs would win. Literally every time. It's been tested.

Eyyy i loved the F the great. Its an upscaled bismarck with more HP and a longer hydro. I had no issue with it.
THIS. Exactly. Its bismarck with 20k more hp, thicker armor, longer armor belt, bigger guns, better hydro, better heal (as heal scales by hp%), and better AA. Why is it so horrible to some people?

Crazy games like that is what makes me keep going back to WoWS...all of the amazing "did that just happen" moments you get in that game, both amazing, and super face-palm.
This is seriously the single most amazing World of Warships game I have EVER seen played!
Respecced my captain on the GK and had a go with an all out secondaries build and had a blast! Didnt get a match as good as above but got 3 kills and 205k dmg. :)
As someone that uses cruisers a lot I felt those 9:14 Cleveland citadels
Due to the improved AP pen angles of the des Moines, he could actually deal a ton of damage with AP, though penetrating the belt isn't that easy
German BB guns are very precise. Got 3 citadells on a DeMoin in my Bismarck yesterday. At 17km range. This guy really pissed the RNG God off.
Ha! When you asked how much damage his secondaries did I guessed 130k. With the fires I'm only 6k off. That's closer than those 11km secondary kills.
I saw the title and the start of the video and thought is he gonna get all his kill with secondaries, but I never expected that to be true
I don't know why so much hate against the FDG.
With a full secondaries build the range can go up to 11.5 km, not so far from the "otherworldly" 11.6 km of the GK's secondaries (by the way, Bismarck's can get up to 11.3 km), and the damage itself is also good (also the skill "beginner firing training" isn't as useful as it seems. Yes it reduce the reload time, but often by 0.3, 0.5 seconds only);
The armor is good and conveniently distributed (unlike some BB's that have all its armor in the belt) and with Hull B it has amazing HP. With this you can go bow-in in most situations, even if the enemy do overmatch you your HP pool is so large that can hold itself until brawling range, where the turtleback and amazing secondaries do their job.
The buff WAS significative, as now the 406 mm guns w/ reload upgrade have 22 sec reload time WITHOUT adrenaline rush, and CAN GIVE A PUNCH even at great distances.
Yes her maneuverability is bad, but it can become acceptable with the steering modification 2 and Hull B; yes the firing angles are inconvenient, the guns are inaccurate, the concealment is bad... But Maybe that give a hint on how to play this ship: GET. CLOSER. Use islands and cover, use your not-bad speed, play agressive, play smart. I rushed bow-in against a musashi today, brawled and killed her. That's something that only high tier German BBs can do.
All I said is true for every high tier German BB, people often stick to idiotic beliefs without seeing the numbers themselves.
The tier 9 German BB actually us really fun, now that it's buffed. The secondary batteries are also just as insane.
That was a good one. Though it certainly helps the enemy kept bending over for a paddling. D.
As a WoWs player who primarily plays Cruisers and Destroyers, I have the Grober Kurfurst and it is fun to play. But I enjoyed playing the Friedrich der Grobe, it was a much better grinding the FdG than it was grinding through the Bismarck. Also WG recently buffed the FdG so there is that.

I am working on the German BB line and have concentrated on secondaries skills because German secondaries, as this video shows, can be scary as hell.

I say this was the most interesting game of wows in a while.
I have the Biz and have researched the next ship just haven't gotten it yet. I have the credits to do so and after watching that replay, if that is what lies ahead at tier 10, i'm going for it. I play the Biz quiet often and love the secondaries. I have over 400K Free XP so I could just skip tier 9 and go right to tier 10. Awesome replay. Time to get my first tier 10.

The kurfurst got really lucky on the dispersion.
Working towards the GKF atm but while the secondary build is fun I bet...above T8 with Bismarck and Massachusetts it's not really an effective tactic for most of the games I bet.
But we'll see, if I end up in enough CQB battles with my future GKF and the FDG before it...ofc I'll consider full-timing secondary builds on these suckers as well. Like I said, it's loads of fun after all.

Bismarck is not nearly as good as the GK, I have the Bismarck with secondaries but you can only really use them if you face same tier or below, against T10s you'll have to stay back anyway unless you want to die and be useless to your team.

T8 is gonna suck hard because of the constant uptiering where there is one other T8 and the rest are T10s, maybe a sprinkle of 9's. Push through if you can, I gave up at T8 with the German BBs only because the current Meta does not suite them at all with noone pushing with you BB wise and then the inaccuracy and low caliber off their guns. T7 Gneisenau is by far my most played ship/ Tier, hell even T5 I have fun with certain ships. Love brawling, but it just doesn't happen at T10 sadly until the last 8 minutes or so, lots of gimmicks and smoke and mountain hiding with HE slinging, just so damn boring.
Not trying to discourage you btw, just be prepared for the road ahead!

@@TheRCScotsman Sadly I didn't give many tips haha. I do still play my Bismark and Tirpitz here and there though. With these 2 ships islands are you friend and coupled with the relatively good speed of them you can put yourself into favorable positions at times.
When you have to run they are good kiters as well if you are secondary spec'd and have the rudder shift upgrade on. With that speed you can also chase down and punish people who get isolated from their fleets, even DD's sometimes if they end up sitting in their smoke, even better if you aren't detected by their teammates.
What else, umm, I've eaten a good amount of citadels at range from the T9 and T10 guns so you wont be invulnerable to citadels at medium-long to long range. Close up keep angled as much as possible, you'll still eat alot of normal penetration damage, but at least that is repairable if your able to win the fight or safely disengage.
Some basic stuff, but figured I'd try to help, instead of scare ya away haha. I'm on the NA server if you wanna play sometime as well.
All Jadawgmast now needs to do is exactly that another thousand times and he might possibly be on track for getting past page 5 on the free Porto Rico ship grind. ☺️

Really, really wish they'd extend the range of the secondaries on other BBs... it's just the best bit of the game to see them all going off.

Secondary builds are just so damn fun and it's sad that they aren't that viable thanks to HE spam and destroyer cancer being so prevalent.
I dont know why you wouldn't like the der grobe. It's a fine ship to play. I've enjoyed the entire german bb line, but I'm a secondary nut, so maybe that explains it.

Thats because the wows replay system doesnt show the interface of the player. The only giveaway for manual fire control was that only one side at a time was firing or else the kagero and the north carolina would have been shot at simultaniously in the beginning.
Only problem with current meta in gk full secondary builds its that it has horrible concealement and its so big that in can be seen from space. Add that is clunky as hell, turns like a containership. Then get in game with 2 dm, wooster and two zaos + conq in enemy team. BBQ is ready. That's reason I don't play gk in full secondary spec anymore.
I guessed 120k, so I was only 4k off! A third of the damage with secondaries is impressive stuff. Seems like a fun boat.
Moronic Adversaries can make even a GK look like a great ship.

You can ALOT of permanent damage to a GK in a Des Moines with AP, HE would set a fire yes, but you can do about 6k dmg per salvo with AP at that kind of range where as HE tends to shatter and only doing 500-2k. It's not a bad idea. In one match I took a down a full HP Iowa at close range but just spaming AP in a DM. Its not a mistake.

You know, your intro shows something that I often wish the game (and other similar games) never quite get right. There's never any SMOKE. The guns fire, and the smoke, what there is of it, disappears almost instantly.
The GK is a good BB. It's not great for randoms. It's one of the most chosen BBs for CB, and I suspect it would be for T10 ranked too. The ship lends itself very well in a 7v7. Better then several other BBs do.

I would disagree at 3:00, in my experience you see a lot of GKs in randoms. In EU server it is second most popular tier X BB, behind Yamato which has been available since alpha.
