    While I really do love the Perfect Fitness Pull-Up Bar Elite, it doesn't compare to the Crossgrips in terms of stability, form factor, and damage to door frame. While expensive, it is my current option as of writing this comment ;)

    Great video! I personally like the Crossgrips for myself, but I'm shopping for a pull up system for my young nephew who's starting to get into fitness, so I'm thinking the Perfect Fitness Pull-Up Bar will be sturdy enough for someone who's just starting out.

      I think both will work, it just depends how much money you are willing to spend.

    Perfect - A D D more padding, Your local plumbing shop/builders merchant - should have what is called FOAM LAGGING(covers the piping, to hinder water freezing in them and bursting) - comes in differing sizes and thicknesses.

      Haha I try for at least 1 a week. I was doing 2 the past couple weeks on Friday and Saturday. It's a lot though worth the 9-5 and shooting it all.

    Hi Gamerbody! Were you saying that the Perfect Fitness Elite Pullup Bar was prone to damage your door frame eventually? Is there a certain width that the door frame needs to be in order to prevent that from happening? Also, in terms of stability/10, how would you rate them both by comparison? I can get the Crossgrips for $104 after tax and shipping, but have found a slightly used Perfect Elite pullup bar for $50. Just not sure exactly what to go with.......not sure that stability and portability alone is enough to warrant the price increase though, seeing as I'm not really doing any traveling right now. Also, think I might even have a Prosourcefit pull-up bar laying around here somewhere, maybe I should just use that. Additionally, how would you rate Prosourcefit vs. Perfect Elite bar in terms of stability / comfort / grip/feel (or you probably can't remember, huh?) Thanks for your content yet again. Hope you're doing well and take care!

      For me, the Crossgrips are hands down the best. As they rest on top of the frame, I've had no markings or door damage at all. The one thing to make sure of is that your have a solid doorframe to use it on. Don't put it on anything that seems poorly made or else you might rip it out of the wall. - luckily this has not happened to me in 3 different homes.
      I do love the Perfect Fitness pull-up bars as well, but they are a bit bulkier and you hang lower to the ground with each. Personally, I would pay for the Crossgrips again over the Perfect Fitness, but both will still work and do the trick. It really just depends if you want a smaller item, that is more portable, and only rests on the top of the doorframe.

    my feet sway out about 18 inches to 2 feet on pull ups so as far as engineering goes which one would have less chance of falling off ,cross fits with all theforce focused on the top or all the perfect fitness with the force on the top and sides ?

    • @GamerBody
      @GamerBody  Рік тому

      What do you mean by sway out? You can bend your knees with pull-ups and either work fine. My preferred option are the crossgrips, but they are more expensive.

    Super specific question, but what's the depth of your door frame to your wall? Mine is about 1cm so I'm concerned that no pull up bar will work for me 😬

    • @GamerBody

      Just measures and it is about 5/8 inches

      @@GamerBody I have similar concern. The top of my door frame is 1/2 inch. I am afraid that during the workout the equipment will slip out and fall. Thanks for answering.

      @@d.gazinelli8785 yeah Id reach out to Jayflex support and just confirm that is enough. If they say no, don't test it and look elsewhere.

    Hello, I'm a seller who wants to sell a product similar to Crossgrip. Is there any disadvantage of the product other than damage or marks on the door?

    • @GamerBody
      @GamerBody  3 роки тому +1

      Can only support 250 total (or 125 each individually). This means no one arm pullups for those crazy calisthenics athletes. Other than that they are great.

      I have not tried it yet but looking it over. I've also moved towards resistance bands but for the next version of GB it will still be bodyweight, dumbbells and bands as I build the RB one to my liking.

      @@GamerBody I'm sticking with the Elite. The foam pads and the sticking out design of the bars are priceless. At $120 I can't really justify the price for the Crossgrips tbh. Glad you love em though.

    • @GamerBody
      @GamerBody  3 роки тому

      Start with dips and also be able to hold your bodyweight suspended in that position. From there, your core will be the limiting factor so work on stability with the core muscles.

      @@GamerBody well I can’t hold dips but can rest all my weight on my arms and core strength is ight but what about my hip flexors

    • @GamerBody
      @GamerBody  3 роки тому

      It may require just practicing the motion as best you can and maybe sitting on the ground with feet elevated to learn the positioning. Over time you should be able to build the strength to hold it.

    Why not just get a real pull-up bar? Do you have a garage?

    • @GamerBody
      @GamerBody  2 роки тому +3

      What constitutes a real pull-up bar? I do have a garage, but my car is in there, other tools and equipment, and it gets incredibly hot in the Summer. Also, I get great results without the garage so I don't feel the need to use it :)
