I'm singing in a mixed choir. I would accept all of this guys to be a member in our choir! Excellent atmosphere. Can see the happiness of reneissance, even if it is a choral.
I have been listening to all of your uploads, and am enjoying them immensely. You "lords" ings with purity of tone and gusto of heart. Keep it up! BRIAN
This sounds perfect! It brings back so many memories! My senior year in high school we sang this as an SAB trio and made it to state level competition. To you high school and jr. high school children who said you did better: I'd wager big money to say you were definitely wrong. For one thing, you're still children. Your voices and knowledge of music still have too much developing to do. Also, you little bullies, how would you like it if I came and bashed something you spent so much effort on?
@SuspiciousCheeseLord my choir its practicing this song and we are going to sing it on December on a concert, we are from Puerto Rico, you guys are pretty good but our version have like a very dark and evil start and have some evil sound on some points but its kinda the same but we have Altos and Sopranos singing with Tenors and Bajos
Yeah same here. it's weird how there's like 10 different melodies for these lyrics.. I think this one is the best, it's haunting.. but there's another that's brighter and possibly more beautiful. the rest are crud though. I wish I knew how to search for just this version. is it 'giuseppe pitoni version'? It's funny because i heard this version at a renaissance festival once and i had no idea there were multiple versions until youtube
@TheEM0GURL1 Pitoni did this tune, but the "song" is from psalm 149, Cantate Domino The lyrics are in Latin: Cantate Domino, Cantate, Cantate, cantate, domino canticum novum. Laus ejus in ecclesia sanctorum, in ecclesia sanctorum. Laetatur Israel in eo. Laetatur, laetatur in eo. Qui fecit eum. At Filiae Sion, et filiae Sion. Exultant, Exultant, exultant in rege suo. exultant exultant in rege suo.
Singing this in a vocal ensemble in school and we sound good, and so do you! It's of course different when girls are singing the higher parts - but nonetheless brilliant!!
Hey, who wrote this song? I'm trying to find the lyrics but it keeps coming up with mark hyles or w/e but I know that's not the song I'm looking for, I'd love it if y'all helped me out!
@TheCatholicFaithfu In chamber choirs without a conductor, the movement helps keep time and cohesion within the ensemble. It's not dancing. It may be distracting for you, but you can always close your eyes ;-)
This is the best tempo I've heard for this song out of several different versions on UA-cam. I've heard it even a little faster. My only criticism: there should be better recording equipment and less dancing. (Sorry, but it's distracting.)
Marvelous! A tad bit slower would allow the listener to enjoy the harmonies much more. This is version I learnt on the Glenmuir High School Concert Choir. RIP Whytey. Missing those days.
I have scoured the internet for this version, amongst the countless other renditions. Tell me, did your highschool teacher give you this awesome version to sing, which they didn't, or did they give you the crap versions 99% of all highschoolers get? You have the mind of a child, this is what I have been looking for, for over 20 years.

My favorite version of this piece :)

@tjtech12 There's always falsetto. I was in a choir like this and one guy sang both bass and alto.

....well that didn't help! I'm singing this song in a quartet today and i need to know when to breathe!!!
