NEW 2020 AMG E53 and E Class! First Look with Mr AMG!

- Welcome back to RBR guys and today we can take the covers off the new E Class facelift, a facelift that’s the most significant for E-Class since the w212 major facelift, and since the car’s inception! And today we’re looking at both the AMG Line and a significant update to the new AMG E53 Sedan!
For the first 213, continued the treatment of the two light graphic from the previous 211 and 212 E Classes, with two strong eyebrows. It’s a much more muscular car than previous E Classes, though the design took criticism from many for being too similar to both C and S Class: despite Mercedes arguing that all Mercedes should look the same.
Enter this new facelift, the biggest one ever visually. Completely changing the look of both the front and the rear of the car making it almost unrecognisable! Mercedes concentrated on three main areas of changes - Design, New engines, and Intelligence!
As for the E 53, it’s a car that we originally found to be more Mercedes than AMG, the facelift of the E Class brings more AMG DNA into the equation, So now we’re going to look at every juicy detail of the new AMG E53! The first entry level E Class AMG was the E43, a raw sounding V6 turbo car, with not much to scream about in AMG design. With standard petrol engine style exhaust tips with a line between them, and a diamond AMG Grille.
The updated AMG E53 came shortly after following in the footsteps of the CLS 53 we reviewed. Now with quad round pipes but the no the benefit of the twin grille of the coupe, it had a seriously sweet inline six EQ boost hybrid engine - more on this later.
But the design problem remained, as did the car’s lean towards normal Mercedes rather than AMG. By the end of it’s life most entry level AMG’s had either the twin bar grille, or even the full AMG grille as in the GT53. Pair those things together, and it wasn’t much of an AMG experience.
Enter this new facelift! And boy has the design changed, AMG have injected the necessary DNA to help the look of the new E53, let’s explore it all!

Remove Before Race ...looks like the new E-Class has a design flaw. More aggressive front doesn’t mean better looking.
It went from looking too much like a C and S Class, to looking like an A Class

My exact thoughts... too aggressive. What I always liked about E-Classes were the elegant looks.
@@brandonczw this is an amg version that is the point, but the luxury trims will obviously look more elegant.
Brandon C. People complained on how the e63 looked feminine as soon as they make it aggressive like it should be, people complain again.
You won't feel anything until you sit inside the car and try it out on the road. Only then can you develop feelings.
Knowing that the E is Mercedes's favorite car, the facelift for the E has always been a preview to what the next gen S class would look like. I like this new look for the E but the back lights I'm not a fan of. I personally loved the last models crystal back lights and wished they'd maybe evolve them and stick with those instead.
They changed them because people were saying the pre face lift had a rounded feminine looking back. As soon as they make it aggressive, people complain.
Next gen S class will surely look better than this.
CengizhanMilfhuntürk Its an AMG performance model, why would you have it looking elegant like if it was an sclass. You need the design to be aggressive in order to compete with other companies. I wouldn’t want a fast family sedan to look like a boat but rather something that has a mean presence on the road.
However this E class looks much less “business” and more “sporty” than the pre facelift

@@1990Thunderbolt I agree that they looked similar. But that more just elevated the presence of the C and E class, which may cannibalize the S class sales. For Mercedes' sake, I think it helps to have more distinguishment between each model, though. Because a big part of the higher end models is to show off.

Ahmed Gafar yeah probably. It will be more like the GT63S I think. Large air intakes, massive quad rectangle tail pipes with aggressive rear diffuser, probably more muscular lines all round too. It’s going to be amazing 🔥

When I change the rims and drive past ur house, you will love it 🙂.....on a serious note thou you right. It doesn't feel like it has its own identity. It's gonna fall in the same trap of mistaken it for another model. Example a class from the rear

Significant change of the headlights also is the reduction of the daytime light strips. It used to be one for C, two for E and three for S. Seems it’s now down to one for E as well.
Pre facelift have a potential for another like 5 years to be modern and classy.If you buy new one, be ready for jokes from your neighbors you bought the A-class on steroids.

Wait until the new 63s release; then compare it with yours. 43 and 53 is just a standard version of AMG. Commented from a G63 owner and a E63s owner ( before the G63)

ambient lighting looks great
the lightning and everything on the stage makes the car super gorgeous. Mercedes and AMG really know what they’re doing. this is not a sarcasm, i literally love the car, especially the rear end, it’s just beautiful. speaking of design, it’s all personal preferences, maybe for some it looks good, and for some it looks bad. Mr. Roken, you nailed the special effect, the smoothness between transition just blowing my mind lol

@@dghost198 He's making reference to 2010 - 2013(w212). That car never was mistaken for any other model. The best bodystyle in my opinion and it was reliable. The 2009(w211) was not a good car.

Adrian S EU spec cars all have the OPF filter. But with a removal, you will be fine sound wise.
