I do the same hook combo on my lipless. The red eye shad is pretty fire as a follow up bait through LV areas. different knock. good stuff bro.

Looked like that morning bite was on as you had your limit pretty early. Then the mid day doldrums hit and the struggle was real. When all was said and done you finished in 4th and that is a very good showing. Congrats again.

Nice finish Greg. We do the same thing here in Texas; yo-yoing a lipless crankbait, but our fish usually hit it hard enough to hook themselves
Great job Greg. God is good! The round bend hook works better when the fish are slapping at it and not committing as much. The ewg works better when they're eating it better.

Great video Greg. Would have liked to see you use white spinnerbait w/Willow blades w/white rage swimmer as trailer over top of that grass for erratic & flash action. Or perhaps a shad swimbait on them harder day bites as a more match hatch profile. You did good.

Great video and like u said it’s the decisions you make for your success. Lake camanche this time of year I’ll use a fish head under spin 1/2 oz with a 3.3 in swim bait and smack them. Cast out and let it hit bottom and reel a few feet and let it fall to the bottom. fish it like the yo yo method and you’ll get bits on the fall just like the lipless crank bait. Hope you’ll get the win the next tournament.

Eggsellent work pulling off the 4th place finish! One thing I noticed when you set the hook that I have done that lost fish for me was the slight forward tipping giving the line a ever so slight slack. Hook set then isn't as strong and I have lost a few because of it. Maybe I am mistaken, either way, always a good day everyday when I can watch you fish!

Greg you might try a slower gear ratio reel when working lipless like that all day. Higher gear ratios dont have as much torque and can really wear a person out when working them all day. Just one guys opinion! Congratulations on the great finish!

I don’t know if I saw something incorrectly, but there was a hook outside the mouth on one of the lv500 fish. I’m pretty sure that it is illegal in California to keep a game fish if it isn’t hooked inside the mouth. Not trying to bash you or anything but thought I would let you know
