+zocker bit I guess it's the same as with microwave oven or such, gotta make sure user knows he just pressed a button (and everyone else too). The sound itself is not as loud as it could be though, so it's not too bad (average microwave oven beeps are louder).
But if I hold my finger on the button and press. Do I need the sound too? Not in my mind. I simply know what I just did. It wouldn't be a problem if I used the kettle once or twice a day but let's say up to fifteen or twenty times a day you create a noisy environment. I would prefer a button to turn off or turn on the sound as a choice. But good to know you think it's not that loud :)

i love everything about it but the sound effects :( piping sound.. how do you cope with it?
Is there plastic inside?
Some times it does not start and keeps on rebooting (that's the pressure sensor on the top getting stuck or something)
And is there a fix to that?
That beeping sound will get on your nerves sooner or later. Why noise all the time?
