Hands down the best sponsor segment I've seen yet on youtube. Pure unadulterated genious.
Hehehe. I had some good fun with that one 😅
These all look so good! It was really close, but in the end the fellow with the coolest animal ended up having the coolest build ;-)
Haha, I’ll be sure to let pass that on Brent.😁
Your kids are cute. And they look a lot like you. Were you that cute as a kid? Lol - Why are you acting like you didn't supervise the whole time? You're standing right there, measuring out pigment, but clearly they went overboard when you didn't say stop, b/c they haven't spent time in nature and application was more fun than realism to them. C'mon. Why do American parents oversell everything their kids do? That isn't necessary to build confidence. Acknowledging effort is all they need to be motivated to do more.
Being a eleven year old and a crafting DM this is cool
I can't imagine how nerdy our exploits could have been if we had all this info at our fingertips at that age. GAME ON!
I wish my father was just 1% this supportive of my creativity when I was thier age. These kids are truly blessed. You are a legend for helping these kids put together such impressive dioramas.
I just wanted to say I am only fourteen but I have learned so much from your videos that I actually made my own diorama my dad for Xmas that I am super proud of so thanks a lot Noil keep it up
Dude, that is so awesome! That really makes me happy to hear. Keep on making those dioramas! Your dad is a lucky guy🙂
This is when you know you're making a difference. This is awesome. I wish we could see your dad open his gift!
Teaching kids is one of my favorite things when it comes to terrain building. You all did a fantastic job!
Both the dioramas and that sponsor segment are top notch! Great job guys!
Maybe this will help people realize the techniques aren’t hard as they think. Creativity is that which you can’t buy.
and this is where you get a close look at Neil Claus's workshop where the elves are being put to work making magnificent dioramas also these are all very nicely made for some new? diorama makers
I had to stop at the davie504 reference and the "don't tell your mum" bit. LMAO
EDIT: the commercial break was also awesome
I slapped like and subscribe....and my bass.
Neil, can you be my dad, lol. I have been doing custom hot wheels for a while now and I really want to do some dioramas for them. I'm so happy I get to learn from a fellow Canadian. I hope one day my 5 year old daughter will get into this stuff too.
Best ad read ever !!! 😂😂😂😂 This video took me back to having one of those handheld hotwire cutters as a kid. Great memories
Hahaha😁. Thanks Eric!! I never had the luxury of a Hotwire cutter. It was all paper machete for me on the ole train set!
@@RealTerrainHobbies I took it in the car on a roadtrip once and was breathing the melted xps foam in the back of the minivan for a few hours. One whiff of that smell makes me nauseous now and I can’t use hot wire cutters anymore
These are very cool and great to teach the boys how to do this. I was glad my dad taught me how so that I could help my kids with their projects for school. I liked to put electricity in them. My son did an Aztec one with a pyramid so we put torches along the path to the human sacrifice and some basic fire pits at ground level. Hid the battery compartment in the bottom step of the pyramid. Had him do his whole presentation and I told him "At the end of your talk about the Aztec people, you can pause and say something like 'This is what it might have looked like at night' and then flip the switch". It was really fun. 3rd grade I think.
At the open house later I was in the classroom with him looking at all the kids projects and I heard one kid call excitedly to their parent, Mom, Mom, look at this one -- it LIGHTS UP!! It's so much fun to help your kids shine.
I follow a channel that covers some Eagles nests and other birds, her channel is LadyHawk. She might get a kick out of the Eagle one. Very cool. There are nests in trees and nests in craggy places.
Lots of Snow inspiration in them all and pretty cool for the one kid to do a similar scene in winter and not winter. I think that's what it was.
Hey thanks so much for the great comment. That was a really good read and put a smile on my face/ That Aztec build your son did sounds so cool! I would have loved to have seen that. Loved that the one kid called out to their parent. Hearing stuff like that puts a big smile on the face doesn't it. Especially it being something your son made. Thanks again for the great comment and glad you enjoyed the video! :)
i have never felt more connected to this channel. while never having tried to make dioramas with my kids, painting minis always proved just as stressful lol.
Best dad in the whole wide world.
Agreed 🥰
Man I wish we did this in school. Making dioramas is a lot of fun. First time I’m making one is for a memorial in memory of my friends dog.
That's super impressive, they all turned out great! You're obviously a great teacher dude, props to you! Also the ad skit had me rolling hahahaha
Thanks man! And glad you enjoyed the ad 😆
@@RealTerrainHobbies The static grass was perfect hahahaha, spooked my cat when I let out a loud guffaw watching that happen hahaha, brilliant dude.
That's really impressive I made a small diorama last week and it didn't turn out nearly as well. I would like to challenge someone to make one with a rain mechanism, perhaps as a sort of makeshift fountain
Oops
Sorry that first reply was meant for someone else!😬. A rain mechanism however, sounds really cool🙂
Wow am I impressed at those dioramas!
I'm totally blown away with the end results!
Yeah pops, mom having the kids to daddy-sit kept you out of trouble 🤭😉 plus I'll bet that snow was a blast to clean up 😁
These guys did awesome jobs, you better apprentice or hire them soon or they'll be your competition!
Hehe very true.
Great to see you getting the next gen involved in the hobby. Great work boys
You reminded me of when I was just a few years old and my dad bought a helicopter kit and we had super much fun making it. Then he kept bringing planes and cars kits that we made together. We have such a collection that we forgot about in the basement. Thank you for reminding me of the good times!
Liked for the davie504 reference
That's so sweet that i got diabetes in the first 2 minutes and didn't stop watching.
great job for the young men who showed off their work! what an excellent Dad! This was fun to watch, and awesome to see the young men taking to the hobby! Thanks for this
This is my fav video!!!! Yes those were probably Jackie's glasses!!!!
I am so happy to see another real terrain hobbies video
I'm a 14 year old that does realistic dioramas and Im not trying to brag but their as realistic as Luke towan's dioramas, I learned everything from him
Excellent Job Boys! Neil...Great Video!
Thanks Donnie! :)
I'd really enjoy if you did the final Part of the Medieval Inn, I'd totally try it myself :D
Well done, boys, and well done, teacher! I shudder to think of the mess you had to clean up after that LOL
lol yeah it was quite the job. Everyone chipped in though so it wasn't all bad :)
Practice makes perfect boys.
Keep it up!
These boys made some awesome dioramas! Thank you for encouraging the younger generation into the hobby, its is truly wonderful to see.
They did an amazing job on their dioramas.
Golden Daemon winners right here. How good are their pieces?! Damn
Those are great
I love seeing parents support their children's (and their friends) creativity and its so cool seeing the pride they have in the final results of their project
Amazing, thank you so much for the kids content. We've been working on the design and building process, mine are 8 and 10. This is GREAT. THANKS!

CANADA
I love this video!!! We teach kids all the time. I think it's important to pass on our love of crafting to the next generation. Great job!
awesome job, everyone!!! the dioramas all look fantastic!
one of the most useful tips i’ve learned while crafting is that the roughriders are hot garbage GO BOMBERS
School projects? The school should hire Neil to teach a special course on dioramas/terrain making! Bet the teachers couldn't do a better job teaching the kids. Love the passion of everyone in this video. Bravo!
Awesome work guys..;)
Who ever thumbed down this video I am so glad I'm not any of you hateful people:>( Thumbs up for this video. All the best 2021, One Love = peace of mind. Thanks for the Inspiration.
I really loved watching this especially as your sharing your crafting skills with your children...
I was always creating things with my children and now they've all grown up I get to make wonderful creations with my grandchildren, I'm collecting boxes and toilet roll tubes at the moment for two projects one is to create a fae kingdom with my granddaughter and my grandson and I are going to attempt a 3D pirate treasure map, with a volcano, quick sand, sharks in the surrounding bays and a treasure chest that you can actually dig up... 🥵...
Its all my grandson's grand ideas but I'll keep my 🤞🤞🤞 that we create something he loves...
Im looking forward to seeing your next video,
Happy Holidays to you and your family, take care & stay safe my lovely...
💫😷🦊🦅🐺😷💫
Nice davie 504 reff ;)
The builds look amazing!!
I love that you involved the children. That is awesome! They did such a good job. Impressive. BTW, has anyone told you that you bear a striking resemblance to Mel Gibson? You do.
You say you are in the middle of a blizzard. It looks like you are living the dream. This video has been very fun to watch. The kids, the editing, the humor. Very fun to watch. Keep on keeping on.
A man that appreciates bass slaps I see
One of, if not your best uploads ( I really dig the collab with Brent and that huge project). You gave these kids everything they needed to be able to create, really amazing pieces.
I absolutely love this! My dad is really into Warhammer and I remember making landscapes and dioramas for it together when I was a kid. It's a very fond memory I have of my childhood and I bet it will be for these kids as well (:
Keep up the good work!
Great video Neil! Amazing experience for the kids!
I envy you having kids who are interested in your hobbies. Neither of mine were. How much fun (among other feeling lol) you guys had! They did a fantastic job on all of them!
super cool... those boys should be so proud of their results... those dioramas look amazing... keep up the great work guys
Great idea - I'm going to do this with my kids, too. Some long winter days are coming up… Thanks for the video!

Nice work. With your help everybody is a talent.
What an awesome video and these kids are truly talented! Thank you for this lovely video!
omg i was dying at that ad. If they don't use that for all of their marketing....
great video!
Nice job gents!
If you're going to do a sponsored ad make it entertaining. That was hilarious.
Wait do you live in Saskatchewan? I noticed the rough rider shirt!
these were very impressive from this bunch of young lads, I tired to get my son interested but he just hasn't got the attention span for things with minute detail. he is a superb artist though working at his scale
*A very nice and cool idea, these 3 kids have talent, congrats! 👏*
So great!!! Nice work to the boys. Great video concept.
stereotypical weather I see lol. great vid to show anyone can enjoy our hobby!
Whatever Keeps paid you for that ad read it wasn't nearly enough.
Love. Word nead fathers like You.
They did a fantastic job on their dioramas!! This is the sort of things kids need to do, use their imagination and be creative. 😍
Omg the static grass hair loss commercial was gold 😭😭😭😭😭
They did very well gave me some confidence
Awesome.
Really great video mate. And the lengths you went to for the sponsor was hilarious.
Just a heads up that you should put a link to your patreon in the description. Its currently a little difficult to find and might be losing you some potential customers.
Hey, thanks for the heads up! Much appreciated. And glad you liked the vid and the ad hehe
What a lovely video! These guys all did such a great job!
Really great video. They did awesome job.
Oh my gosh, they are amazing! When can I come make one?
Amazing i hope one day i could do this with my children
It’s such a dirty move to use kids in your videos 😂😂😂
