- Just wanted to lock in and vibe with one of the greatest artist ever. Playing my Newest babies Cherry Mahogany DW collectors with Aquarian Reflector series white.
Hope you guys enjoy. Much love.
You know this man has every respect for "Sugarfoot" when he has all the chops in the world but does such a brilliantly simple and effective cover. In the pocket x 100. Big up.
It’s J. R. Robinson on the track. But yes, restraint.
I expected him to go crazy in this one also lol and I’m also loving the pocket of this one. There’s some tasty fills still.
Jamie Alexander it’s nice to see him be restrained for once. Dude literally never stops doing chops it’s kinda obnoxious. I love chops but sometimes they can be a bit much.
And it’s really not that simple. There’s a lot going on groove-wise. A lot of years went into his ability to lay it down and make it seem simple
ain't nothing simple about this son
This is probably the least he's played in a song for a while. Straight groove with appropriate embellishments. Old. Skool.
You didn’t watch the end of the video
@@howtobeatadrumironically, it sounds like you didn't get the ending of the vid. The main song finished at around 5.55. The the loop of the ending begins so he can let off steam after keeping a lid on it for the whole song! The drums in main song up until the loop was super-tame as it should be, you can't fill every note in these grooves. It dosen't work! The loop was his time to blast and is not part of this classic groove. I'm sure you can understand.
Pdrum Pdrum I understand!!
“In the pocket” with just the right amount of “I do this fa real fa realllllll” 🤜🏽🤛🏾
Rumor is half of DW drums made are in Eric's house.
That kit is gorgeous. And “Off The Wall” is a masterpiece.
Yes it is!!!! My uncle Wah Wah Watson played on Off The Wall!!! My all time favorite MJ album!!!!!
I love the set to
Brings me back to rush hour 2 with Chris tucker singing this song in the club
"What the hell is goin' on in here??"...."He messin' up a classic!!"😂😂😂😂
🤣
Cha-mon Leee!! 🤣🤣
Ongggg😂😂😂😂😂😂classic
Leee? 😅😅
The hat work is beyond mental. I had to rewind parts of it just to make sure I saw what I actually saw. Insane talent.
That snare sound is so appropriate for the song. Tuned very well for the occasion
3:41, “I won’t be complaining” 🎯🔥 That hat quotation
Drum company: “Hey Eric, which set are you interested in?”
Eric: “Yes”
that snare tho... it sounds as beautiful as it looks
@@grantramsey3879 And it looks like his side snare. Imagine how his normal snare sounds
😂
Which drum set?
😂🤣
Am i the only who stared at his main snare waiting for him to hit it at least once
Me Too never seen him play that way before
Seems like a left hander playing on a right handed set.
@@JeremyRoss Not quite, otherwise he would have played the snare with his right hand. I guess on that particular track he needed to play his "beefy" snare drum which happened to be his side snare, and his main one might be a "table top" tuned snare, not ideal when you want to play old tunes from Mr Jackson.
@@JeremyRoss Here, his main his high pitched: ua-cam.com/video/UzeM31yzReU/v-deo.html&ab_channel=AquarianDrumheads
He hits it more than once. Look again. Your human eyes might not be able to see it in real time.
Mike would be very proud to hear that his music is still being honored today
MJ always chose the best musicians in the market! Absolutely GENIUS!
Cosmic pocket, beautifully embellished. That was a real pleasure to watch and hear. Thank you!
I just love Erick Moore and thank God for his talent.
Thats how you play the "one" in every bar. So perfect. All the drummers in the world has something to learn from this.
The Hi Hat work is absolutely phenomenal ! I'm am so inspired to get my hi hats singing like that.
This is a pocket clinic! Control and discipline while keeping the groove exactly like the song required. I really don't think people realize how much work (and talent!) this requires!
Dude is a beast, love his tom work, always so clean. What I’d give to just have one of those DW sets in the background, never mind the beauty that’s sitting in front of him
He keeps time better than any Rolex watch 🤩 his hi-hat work is phenomenal
His pocket is so tight it's almost illegal he stuffed snare that fat into it.
Don’t stop - till you show all your drum kits 😮
bruv
Have to tour multiple rooms
Dude.. Watching you is like a homework lesson and note taking. Such great stuff to learn from you man
For some reason when I play a MJ tune, I just feel this urge to stick to the groove. Fills just make me go "nah, just stay in the pocket". Nasty groove Eric! 🔥
As crazy a drummer he is. He Really kept this one simple. Love it!!!
Those hi hat patterns are very hard
Yesssss , need more old stuff
So smooth...love all of the hi hats accents. The hi hat notes you don't play are as powerful as the ones you do..such creative drumming!
Well said man!
@@stevethomas133 Eric is always an inspiration!
Classic👌
Was just thinking the same thing. I was watching how he uses his hi hat thinking "damn...that's different, and fantastic "
@@scottperrin9655 Yes...for me, the rests can be harder than playing, lol
Dude, I LOOOOOVE how that side snare sounds. So good. Very well done all around!
The best feel good song from MJ in my opinion. Always makes me happy ! Awesome job brother 🙌🏽
Great Eric !!! I like this song, very inspiration for the drummers all the world...God bless you Eric!!!
Beautiful kit, beautiful playing... seriously, DW makes such amazing drums! Plus, I love his technique on the hi-hats... very inspiring to me!
Hey Eric, I absolutely love the way you played that song of Michael Jackson’s. That’s what it’s all about you don’t half to just play in the pocket on every song. Their is a time to for us drummers to just let your playing out and cut loose. This guy is a perfect example of that. Colin Cave.
Eric you are awesome.
Thank you
This dude DOMINATES the drum kit. Been watching his videos for a while, and it is such a treat listening to his amazing playing!!
His tom work is just incredible
That Left tho!😮 Heavy Hitter!!! 🔥🔥🔥
I always wanted a drum kit as a teenager and even later on in life. The look on the face of tge “dude” drumming away with precision is simple and clear “I know my stuff”
Bro - one of the tightest drum covers I’ve heard. Incredible work and groove
JR killed those drum tracks on OFf The Wall!!!! A machine!!
This brother is solid. Love that hes showing his pocket. On a side note. Id love one of those gorgeous kits in the background
What a drummer , his drumming is so tight and very Tidy, he’s one of my favourite Drummers 🙏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
*4* ppl halted, *3* others weren't satisfied. Subsequently 7 people stopped & didnt get enough.
underrated comment, lol
Best comment I've read in a LONG time. Freaking hilarious man.
!! spat prosecco all over my keyboard. I do not own enough lol's to appreciate this comment. I may need to borrow some.
This was very well put together Eric. If Michael hired you, he'd want it in the pocket close to the record so people can dance. Understanding whats needed for a song, especially dance songs is a lost art. This is why sugarfoot had the gig with Michael
This guy is a beautiful beast! This is my motivational tune!!!!
Better choice of words, not beast 🙏, just great 👍
I had no idea this was a Michael Jackson song. Good job. Flawless technique. You can tell someone is really good when they make it look easy.
Eric, here's a groove: Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'.
He just can't help adding a million extra hi hats in every bar.
Way too much. More cow bell
world's best gun for hire. great care for the arrangement, attention for the melody, best pocket and feel in the market. chops for centuries if needed. I really respect what you are doing right now, eric. thanks for sharing!
Couldn't have said it better. Ultimate display of discipline right here!
Super cool sympa pâtrie 👍👌😀👍🎸🥁👍
Eric you got an awesome gift from God man, he's super proud of you brother! Love your stuff you are on a whole other level for real 🔥🔥🔥🔥💯
@MorbidManMusic Again He has worked to improve his drumming for a long time. You can't earn gifts, they're given to you. Some people are more gifted in sports naturally. Some more in music. Others with knowledge and sharing that with others. God gives us good gifts, they are a part of who we made us. You might not see it that way, but I pray that God opens your eyes to see that he is Lord and he loves you my friend. Jesus died for you on the cross to give you new life, He's real and he is alive, and he is God. He loves you my friend, all you gotta do is cry out to him and he'll answer you! He wants to show you that he's real, I dare you to challenge him to prove to you that he's real and to show himself to you personally. I mean it! Try it 🙂
What if he doesn't believe in God? Not everyone does.
@@michaelboen2314 Eric Moore has openly stated that he's a Christian. God loves you my friend 🙂 You are amazing
@@andrewprovan3109 I'm not Christian... please don't force your agenda on me
@@michaelboen2314 I'm not forcing anything on you lol. Just sharing about how Jesus loves you.
Perfect tone for that tune. Or Perfectly tuned for that tune.
I'm a metalhead and i love this tune..and the drummin' here!
That outro though, blew my mind, as always.
Heeeey very cool cover you are defenitively my favorite drummer. Ceep going

Clean, crisp, smooth. Badass.
THIS MAN KNOWS HOW TO PLAY A SESSION ! # 1 !!! LOVE YOU ERIC !
We gotta get you some behind the back cymbals like Ol Sugarfoot!!
Batidas limpas perfect!!
I like how whenever the beat is simple, the high hat is nuts.
Don't Stop....love, love, love!!!
Major metal head here. I'm impressed. Great job, love the song too. RIP MJ
It’s so hard to stay focused on watching him with candy land in the background lol
Oof! That fat snare sound from the top made me jump back! Pockets are DEEP on this track.
If I were Erics neighbor, I won't complain about him playing. I would complain if he would stop.
He could leave his doors and windows open of course
I hope Jonathan Moffet sees this. I get the feeling he’d be feeling it as much as we are.
John Robinson
MV 2112 I imagine he’d be pretty into it too!
Moffet did not record for MJ.. ever... he was a touring musician at times...
@@wpochert But he still is most noteable for his time as MJ’s drummer, and it’s how he “markets” himself, if you will. Not to mention, I never said he recorded the song. He just has more public recognition than other drummers that worked for MJ. No need to be condescending.
@@cursedgeorge939 Actually the late great Ricky Lawson was A LOT more notable than Moffett for time spent with MJ... hell, he did the entire bad and dangerous tours...Bad being the largest and most important tour of MJ's life. Moffett did small stints with The Jacksons on a couple tours.. most notably the disastrous Victory tour. He also did the terrible 30th anniversary show and was slated to do "This is it"..but of course that never came to be.
Man I love watching this dude drum...
This drums has a gorgeous and perfect sound! How! So clean and bright....the cymbals ufff I love 💕
Eric "Moor El" i see you
As soon as I saw this, I was like “oh, damn... this is gonna be good!”
THAT IS ONE GUY HAVING FUN AND HE IS SO SMOOTH AND PLAYS SO CLEAN.
I LIKE THE WAY HE ANGLED THE SNARE
Very smooth Eric, love those kits. 🖒🖒👌👏👏💣
Haven't seen this much pocket since I looked at my pants in the closet
If he gave me all the dollar bills he found so deep in the pocket I still wouldn’t be able to afford that kit
This a real groove. Just nod and two step. A little dip and flare here and there.... Out of all of the chops and awesome videos he makes this is easily top 3.
Watching players like this when they hit the groove is mesmerizing! Fills were on point and the funk in his technique was bright and tight. Fine playing sir!
“Chamone, chamone lee””
"Carter! Carter!?"
@@doss8305 🤣
Drum Student: A three piece drum kit is boring.
Eric: Hold my beer....
thank you to share your music eric!
This song reminds me of my Aunt Celias Resturant in Sterling Il. BACK in the day this song played constantly on the juke box.. great cover
How much for the drumset. Lets set up a payment plan cause my goodness its beautiful
😘😘😍😍😍😍
Shoutout to whoever mixed these drums. YOU DA GOAT.
That hi-hat groove is so smooth to watch. Nicely played brotherman. Jah bless.
fun fact: Shelia E. filled bottles with water and did the "bottle percussion" on this track
Yeah most of the people watching this and therefore commenting... don't know Pete Escovedo... let alone Sheila....this audience i suspect, is much more drummer than percussionists...i digress.
but fun fact on your point i didn't know that..so many people think she only got her start with Prince
Totally fake, this is obviously a humanoid robot, a real human couldn't lock in that tight... pfffft
Hahahahahahahaha
Pocket*
This comment killed me 🤣
😂😂😂😂
I can play like that myself no problem and have been able to since I was 14. I was waiting for him to play something complex. Its pretty elementary stuff with some groove.... simple but effective.
Great discipline. Carrying the groove and staying out of the way!
I watch Big E play the whole song thru it's entirety with Grace, but my God when he turned to that left side set up Jesus!!!!! Is I can say the syncopation was out of this world....
Who came up with the arrangement of this Michael Jackson song i would love to know
Ben Adek the original song written and composed by Michael Jackson and Co Produced by Quincy Jones if you didn’t know check out the Off The Wall Album it’s amazing but I’m not sure about the Loop at the end
Michael Jackson’s talent went so far beyond his voice and performance skills. His choreography and songwriting is unmatched in his industry. He was an extreme perfectionist and demanded the same from those working with him. King of pop
Joshua Blou t Many Artists try to do what he did but I will say they are not even close . There will never be another MJ . The Music was just the icing on the cake His Videos told stories when he performed on stage he made you feel every beat with his Signature Dance Moves . When he did that audition for Motown with his brothers he was ready not knowing he was on the way to become one of the Biggest Artists in the world True Inspiration
I'm sorry to say this to everyone reading, but you will never be this deep in the pocket. I mean, neither will I, but I've made peace with that.
No one beats John JR Robinson the original!
I hear you but I don’t like that defeatist / copy cat vibe. MAKE your own pocket that is at this level.
If you want it bad enough, you can totally get this much pocket. It just takes work and a good attitude, and then some more work.
Feel the space in between and you'll play in the pocket
Nimble Wit right. it's a matter of time, patience, dedication & strong will
Awesome kit Eric bad ass lock in love it 👏
cant get enough of your drumming
How many drums does he have in all?🤣
I heard him mention that the total was 30 or so..
To play chops on the beat means you must have the ability to play pocket because it requires a better sense and feel of time... it's just boring and he chose not to.. Just like he chooses to play pocket...
Enough with this idiotic argument...claiming he can't play pocket.. It's redundant and just shows you know nothing...
A player at his level just floats above all these mundain dessisions of whether to play pocket or not. It's meaningless to him...which just shows his incredible skill level! matched by few...
The real discussion should be around why this chop shaming trend still exists!
@@huskestativ one that I saw here...and if you follow Eric the chop police have been bs'ing this subject for years...especially when he uploaded chop videos years back...I actually feel he switched to pocket covers to prove them jealous haters wrong (imo!).
Was waiting for the groove the whole time.. and we got it at the end
Dammmmmmm......and a holy cow for that end solo!!!!!!!!!!!
Dude, I dont know do you play like JR Robinson played on record, but your performance/interpretation is totally outstanding....
The way you manage dynamics between silent and louder sounds is this what I demand from all drummers and it gives me huge pleasure of listening of drummer. You dont play too much sounds but this controlling of dynamic each sound, its loudness, and build the rhythm through this particular skill is brilliant.
My Lord, that snare😩👌🏾👂🏽🤤
really enjoyed the licks...i am seventy eight year old drummer.started in 1956.
Master Peart can rest easy ....A new master is taking care of the subdivisions now!
i dont share many videos on my facebook..but i just shared this one..thanks for the wakeup..i needed it..
