    I bought this exact model yesterday Aug 8th at BestBuy. Open box. Excellent condition. Listed on their website at $142.99. The manager did some magic at the cash register and I paid $99.39 plus tax. My problem is that this is a birthday present for someone but I want to keep it for myself. Thanks for the video. It's appreciated.

      Thanks for sharing. For $99 that is a great deal but if you can pick one up for even $180 or less I think it's a great value.

    I got a similar spec Acer spin 513 refurbished through the Acer eBay store for $169 on sale. The spin 513 snapdragon 7c appears to be faster than mt8183

    • @craigneidel
      @craigneidel  2 роки тому +1

      Favorite is price, screen, performance per dollar. Least favorite is just plastic shell and wish it could have a slightly more ream like 6 GB but you can't get everything.

      @@craigneidel definitely if it's renewed or refurbished sometimes you just get an incredible deal because they wanted you know resell it but I think it base priced at 4 to $500 That's where I was like I believe it has a Snapdragon 7c and that's a great chip for mobile platforms for you know good for Chrome OS so no arguments there but yeah if you're getting at Chromebooks what was it from 2020 down 4 gigabytes of RAM is pretty much all you get unless you get a ruby you know expensive one which from my experience I got the Acer some 315 and the 315 came with 4 gigabytes of RAM a Intel Celeron n4020 and it had a 15.6 IPS touch screen It only had 32 GB of storage sorry and it had a ton of ports so you know full HDMI USB-A USB Type-C microSD headphone jack I think you had two USB a and one Type-C yeah so it was it was great It was your best overall pick and it usually sells for I think three 30 or 350 I usually get them on sale at Target for 220 so for all that it milled off all the the boxes for me that in a Chromebook and it was at a crazy little price so just look at all the other Chromebooks and around that price and they're usually 720p screens they're usually 11-inch screens and they're usually terrible they probably have the same processor and I don't know I'm sorry they have a generation below that processor so the MT8173 or the Intel salon 330.com so and it was around the same price or higher so that was my best pic I chose that so I can just get into the you know world of Chromebooks cuz I wanted one I wanted Android tablet this or a laptop a lot of top spiral life is just trash and I had one It was the Acer aspire 5 slim almost same specs well it had an Intel i3 I think it was 10th generation It had 4 gigabytes of RAM and 128 GB of storage so this is what got me to Chromebooks because that laptop was about after I think it was at 350 on sale and then after tax and shipping it came to around $400 It also had a 15.6 IPS screen no touch screen and the speakers were they're kind of bad so I did not have a good experience with that and I the camera was the speakers were bad so the camera and the speakers are bad and I didn't really use you know Windows I mainly just use it to manage Facebook accounts for my business so I don't really need anything heavy duty so guess what The $220 Acer Chromebook was not only faster than my $400 Acer with less features on it but the battery on the Acer aspire was around 5 6 hours maybe but the Acer Chromebook was about 10 hours if I was pushing it but like I said I just do needy consumption browsing and then my my business pages you know it's not much so I get around 10 hours or 12 and that's with the 1080p UA-cam playing the background for background noise so I love it only thing was at the screen was a little bit washed out you know and I thought okay this thing is much more faster than my my Intel processor on the aspire so if a cell run is this good and this fast and zippy then remind you this was both out of the box The Acer spire was slow I was so disappointed in that thing It was ridiculous but the Acer Chromebook it flew It was so fast It couldn't believe it unless I had a ton of like tabs open then it might slow down right but it was great much better and with less power so I actually went out and researched even further and I ended up getting the Acer spin 713-2021 model with the 8 GB of RAM until I-5 11th generation processor and it it it has ridiculous specs like better than most laptops around the $1,000 range The screen is beautiful is a 2K screen gorilla Glass antimicrobial It had two thunderbolt 4 USB Type-C It had 1 USB type a It had a full HDMI It had a macro SD card reader headphone jack It also had a fully you know backlit keyboard is a great trackpad that is like a very nice trackpad so the screen absolutely beautiful That's the main reason why I upgraded but it is gorgeous I could I was like wow it's not even OLED but it's freaking so damn good and then yeah out of any other Chromebook it's the only one with there's very few with SSD let alone an NVMe SSD 256 GB and then what else yeah it's a great Chromebook but unfortunately I was let on the letter string by these reviewers because of the the Chromebook having so much power it consumed a lot more power but I was doing the same stuff browsing management of my page you know nothing crazy sturdiness and media consumption Google docs Google keep stuff like that so just notes and this thing only got around 6 hours so I was so disappointed cuz it's it's about half or less than half that my previous Chromebook and I was like damn it dude this is s*** and then the camera I you know all laptops were very vast majority laptops have s***** cameras terrible cameras and the speakers are terrible That's how I hear that complaint all across the board unless you get into the $1,000 range so the speakers were terrible they were even worse than my $220 Chromebook so that was I didn't I couldn't even understand that so stupid oh yeah the Acer spin 713 was I got it on sale for five 29 or 19 so 519 or 529 but it's usually $699 so and other than that I mean I have my Bluetooth speaker you know it's nice I carry it small but it's very loud but the camera was so disappointed with the speakers other than that oh and the battery life and those are the main things why I wanted to get a Chromebook was the battery life so depending on what you do Mr Craig if you don't need a lot of power I don't recommend getting an Intel i5 but 8 GB of RAM is a must on any Chromebook if you're going to get a new one feel free to message me if you need some help cuz I've done extensive research on this stuff One I would recommend which is a has a Snapdragon 7 c 2nd generation with a gigabytes of RAM is the Lenovo duet 5 that thing is it's pretty beautiful once again and it offers a ton of value much less sports cuz it's a tablet Chromebook but if you like the one you have you'll probably love this one and it's only I think on sale for 379 and open box at Best buy it's 320 for excellent condition If you have a Best buy near you go and just examine the device they will let you examine it to see how how it looks how it works all that but yeah oh sorry for blowing up here but a bunch of text but yeah I'm just a bit disappointed in my Ace has been 713 it is a powerhouse and I just wanted a future proof my Chromebook is best as possible however I did miss out on key features so don't always listen to those reviews where they say yeah it gets 10 hours it gets 10 hours like no offense but they're lying and they may be just left the Chromebook on or if like really low brightness and barely used it I kid you not yeah oh and then one more tip of advice the m1 MacBook Air is probably if you really want to spend money it's probably the best laptop for value for dollar now it's 999 but it goes on sale a lot for like 849 sometimes or 899 but it has incredible speakers great screen and a ridiculous battery life only thing again even a thousand dollar laptop is it's got a crappy ass 720p camera this is ridiculous and I'm not telling you oh it's only 720p I'm telling you this thing is grainy as s*** I could understand that on my Acer 315 the $220 one I didn't want that on my Acer 713 the $530 one you know that was drawing a damn line but on $1,000 MacBook Air even the MacBook pros have a 720p camera and that's around that it oh 14 or 13 hundred dollars so if you need a laptop for business the MacBook Air is probably really good for just about everyone but you have to get used to using Mac OS of course and then if you want to Chromebook honestly a super spec out Chromebook like the ones that are around $1,000 I can say without a fact without a doubt sorry why I don't if you're using a Chromebook and you're not really going to lean towards like Linux and like other programming software I don't know You only need i3 or maybe an Intel Pentium 7000 something You don't really need those super high spec ones but I hopely recommend a at least 8 gigabytes of RAM cuz Chrome like Chrome browser takes a lot around so just be ready for that

      Not comparing anything, I have a Mac channel so incorporating some Mac stuff and it's on my desk. I think I only said a few things about comparing to a Mac and it was really just a basic review.
