Courtney has always been one of my favorite writers. Hole’s music helped me though a lot of dark times
Just discovered/ got into Courtney/Hole it seems like she is finally getting the credit she deserves, very underrated songwriter/ performer. Very cool to see likeminded people
Good journey!!! (L)
I think i would die is my favorite off live through this
Didn't know Courtney got a NME Icon award this year well deserved long overdue. It's sad people still don't want to give her credit for her own songs so many arguments I've seen with people crediting Kurt or Billy Corgan it's ridiculous.
Ricky Hunt Billy Corgan said himself he helped and wrote many songs from Celebrity Skin and latest songs also. Truth or not - I can't know that.
@@HypnoseNoirRose That's true but it isn't all him and he mostly helped with Malibu
He co-wrote a few riffs on ‘Celebrity Skin’ and what became ‘Nobody’s Daughter’ but he didn’t play on those records, write the lyrics or melodies or write the songs. Courtney had already written those songs and he helped work out the arrangements. It’s still Courtney’s talent.
1000% agree with you 💯
Live through this is an essential part of my life... Its soo empowering and relatable 👑
Finally, someone said it!
Binging your channel atm and I'm so happy I watched this, Courtney was done real dirty by the media and I've always felt she has never gotten the credit she deserved for being such a kick-ass songwriter and performer! For Once In Your Life makes me weep every time I listen to it
Thank you so much for the support! ♡
I remember seeing her opening for Manson after following her music for years and getting into a fight with half the pit. I will still fight anyone who disses her, and lean on her rage and pain and sheer force of nature as a crutch for life.
Hell yes! It makes me so happy to know she’s always had an army of fans rallying behind her at all costs despite the things people write and say. and that is one hell of a story, thanks for sharing 🖤
@@AGrrrlsTwoSoundCents And I love Manson, lol. I don't appreciate slut shaming from dickheads. Unlike other punk/riotgrrrl groups who were often a little... affected. There was nothing in her like that and yeh. As you said, that is so rare.
@@EnnameMori love Manson as well. Can't believe I was only 1 year old when that tour happened. I missed out on so much good live music in the 90s
@@EnnameMori What do you mean they were affected?
Agree with you in most of it. Album and song from Pretty on The Inside (I was 13 that time, full of anger and felt excluded from place I lived and almost from anyone, only because I wasn't such a 'little-town blind sheep') made me feel I am not alone, then come out Live through this, it was an magical album, still think both underrated. But when I heard Celebrity skin and almost all later's songs I was really dissapointed. Love her screams, poetry, her style... but later, when showing her real singing skills (after 2000), omg, she remembers me of a drunk grandma. You should retired when it is time to. Noone will change my mind, and I will not argue with anyone
this is a great video!!! I agreed with so many of your points! I feel like it's such a shame that Courtney is not taken seriously or liked at all. she's so talented and she should be recognized for it.
Great piece! Really great presentation of one of my favorite artistes from back in the day!!! Courtney Love is so misunderstood and you represented her truth in this piece which came off like a perfect mini-documentary. well done!
I love her music and writing i found her because of my moms friend i was like a toddler. During 2022 I found my old cassettes and they had Violet and got back into them.
Thank you so much for this! I am one of those people Courtney´s poetry saved, and it´s really relevant to make content like this where we can appreciate how an amazing artist SHE IS, and how important she will always be to rock history... She inspired me into reading, music, movies, and that´s priceless. Thanks for this beautiful video! My fav LTT quotes is "I don´t really miss god, but I sure miss Santa Claus". Wondering what´s yours :D
Me llamó la atención tu nombre y te exploré. Me guardo tu lista de Chicas al frente 👍
@@danteyampey737 Muchísimas gracias!!!
the most underrated
thank you for putting into video my thoughts about this incredible rockstar!
Courtney saved my life ! Thanks for this amazing video !
Love it! 💜👄💜
Awesome video. Courtney is such an inspiring, strong woman and I love seeing people appreciate her.
You were talking about her public image, I just think people are so cruel and judgemental towards her, completely ignoring everything that she had to live through...she's sadly one of those artists who will only be fully appreciated after they die :(
cant wait for her new record...
She's a legend 🖤
She made my life better. That’s all I need to know.
Hell yea 🤘
There's few songs I play louder than Use once and destroy.
MY LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!
You should check out L7, Babes In Toyland, & other bands she happens to have *a few* similarities with..
I’m pretty familiar, lol. I snuck into VIP at L7’s recent Irving Plaza show and got to chat with Donita and Suzi, it was a dream
i wish there was more lyrical references and artistic influence included in this video instead of repetitive claims of traumatized fans. i feel like courtney love’s band and artistry is bigger than the traumas people can face
Sure! That’s totally valid. Also just keep in mind that this video was made when I had no subscribers, so I only expected maybe 2-3 people to see it, haha! I was mostly writing from my personal experiences and wasn’t exactly trying to make a highly researched formal analysis, but appreciate your feedback!
@@AGrrrlsTwoSoundCents I can totally see that, respect. In that case, I think it's so cool that you've amassed such a large following in only a year!! congrats from me ^-^
She may have said some things I really don’t agree with, and has had some really bad looking moments, but what you said in the beginning about women and queer people is exactly why I still listen to her. She was so REAL. I think some of her behavior is a result of how people have treated her for just being a strong, intelligent woman.
❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹
She's a fantastic lyricist, but she isn't a great composer.
