Excellent video, thank you. My grandfather was a crew member aboard the SS Ceramic on that fateful night. I only found this out after my father past away, and my step mother handed me an envelope containing a telegram from the King to my grandmother informing her of his loss at sea, on the back of the telegram was typed SS Ceramic, also in the envelope was a scroll from the King to my grandmother. This sent me on the journey to learn more about the SS ceramic, I found out from my search that my grandfather was born in Sydney Australia, and emigrated to the UK. His name is shown at Tower Hill Memorial in London and also at the The Australian War Memorial in Canberra. Thank you for the video.

Yep, he tried escaping a U.S. POW camp. Guess he thought, "What's the worst that could happen?" Turns out, quite a bit!

Ceramic was a passenger liner and should have been spared. Yes, there were some military personnel on board. However, the Civilians should never have been killed in this manner. KPTLT. Henke himself was shot trying to escape a U.S. Prisoner of War Camp. Bad Karma? What goes around surely does come around. It did for KPTLT Henke.
