And falling off a moving horse is much more dangerous! It's muscle memory and having this moment of training and learning how to react in that moment is what this training is all about. It works!
I just went to my clinic today with Land Safe and we have a 2 day one. This is actually amazing. A lot of people are saying “oh it won’t help me” this can help you IMPACTED your fall. They don’t teach you how to fall off they teach you how to impact your fall. Beside just flopping off they teach you how to roll off and fall in the safe way they can help.
I just feel like... if i try to roll when falling off a horse i may accidentally damage my neck or back if i do it wrong, or get trampled part way through?
I agree. I think the idea is to break your fall with your feet/legs, but keep going from there. I mean stop yourself by landing on your feet but then transfer your momentum into rolling to avoid putting all of that momentum into your joints, instead put it into the ground by rolling which will save your joints and maybe some broken bones. I’m not for sure about this but it’s what I got from it. I don’t feel like immediately going into a somersault without landing on your feet first is a good idea though simply because of the risk of landing on your head. I understand you can’t always control how you fall, but if you can you should try to *not* fall on your head. I did something just like this when I was a cheerleader and from about 5 feet onto a mat, when I was expecting it, I gave myself a pretty bad concussion. Now imagine a 1,000 lb animal with no warning, and no mat. I also can say I’ve tried the tuck and roll method here, where they landed almost head first and rolled. Not on purpose lol but I wasn’t able to hold myself off my head long enough to roll if that makes sense. Instead my hands hit the ground, then my head, then my neck, and suddenly I was laying on my back with a lot too many bruises. Not so graceful in reality compared to what they show here 😂
When I was in cheerleading we did a stunt where I did almost exactly this off someone’s shoulders, so similar height. And I did it onto a mat. This may look graceful and sound like a good idea but even doing it like this, expecting the fall, and landing on mats can be dangerous. I did it just the way I was supposed to and I got a concussion that put me out of practice for the longest time. Now imagine if instead of stepping off something onto a mat when you’re ready, you are unexpectedly thrown from a thousand pound animal to gravel with absolutely no warning. That would be a LOT different. I don’t think I would still want to somersault off and land on my head, even if my mind had enough time to process the situation and what I was taught to do.
My horse has a very bad habit of suddenly taking off and just running as fast as she can, and then when I ask to slow down she slams on the breaks and I keep goin. I’ve fallen off twice now but she does it quite often, I currently have a terrible bruise the size of 2 fists from hitting the saddle horn on my way down
Rip I had my horse bolt on me when a branch broke and I sprained my knee and soft tissue damage to both knees and a broken arm so no more riding unti February
Same this happen in September 2019 to me then October this month my horse bolted becuase a large tree branch broke and when though 10 to 15 meter of Forestry behind her and she's a green broken 5 year old brumby that I got in May so yeah I ranted sey
But the way they fell putting all the pressure on wrists and hands first ..i mean wrists and hands would be damaged so bad due to the pressure of fall and also my weight all that focused on hands first! I feel like maybe starting to fall at the tip of the feet and then do everything else
actually today I fell of a horse and when I realised that I was about to fall I basically pushed myself out of the saddle and saved myself from any major injuries. I only got a couple of bruises but the situation could have gone really south if I hadn't done that. So in a split second you can react to a fall. So I guess sometimes there is a chance to react to a fall and if you can you should.
This may help and all but in a reality you never know what could happen between you and your horse. Just yesterday my horse and I were cruising and all of a sudden she tripped and fell with me one her back it happened so quick I didn't have time to reacted we're a little banged up but we're ok I'm taking a break for a while from riding her just to give her time to heal.
Yeah and when I fall of like this I would break something cuz when I ride on the street my horse always starts rearing at kids and I fell 4 times of him and I would break my neck
It’s gonna be good for me my horse was grumpy started cantering I wasn’t ready went over it’s head and said bye bye for no more riding for eight months broke a bone two so now I’m petrified !😊😂😕
Why not teach them to jump off n land lightly on their feet. Much better than tumbling. I did this today when my horse fell over I went Kick Kick Jump Turn Land 4 feet away from my horse. I don't have any training just was good at gymnastics at school (long time ago) or maybe I was just plain lucky
My helmet visor would hit the ground and dislocate my neck if I tried to roll half of these ways, the rule is to land on your feet and hold on the the reins like always.

@@eqtvnetwork1226 but I will break my neck if I do this and I trot on a hard bottom since I almost always ride on the streets and my horse rears al the time and I fall of east when he rears and I once had that I did that and I broke my arm
The way some of them were tumbling is dangerous when they do it on actual track and not pads

@@destinyscroggs2099 have you had any long-term lasting effect after your concussion? I mean for years
@@cutiefox6455 nope. At least nothing that I’m aware of being related to that lol.
I was riding a horse for the first time and I apparently rolled off/fell off properly so I wanted to see how I fell off and I guess I’m just a natural
In reality it might be full of sand or rocks..but still a great fitness

Bizarre comments on an excellent video - thanks for this - great examples of how to fall safely from a horse.
Glad it was helpful!

I fell off and broke my arm because I just plopped down on my side so I need to go to this 😂😂

It is an excellent class, I am so glad I went.
why do yall have matching socks
They’re provided to the student and are non slip for the training day.
Imagine doing this and you get stuck with your feet in the stirrups
That happened to me in March in the arena! I got dragged for about 30 to 40 yards but I escaped.
Weeee flip ooooop my foot.😳
Took the senior version of the class - excellent!!

Yeah. Teach them to jumo on theyre back like they are going to fall off a REAL horse in a padded area.
Agreed. In a real situation, there will be nothing but grass, sand or dirt, possibly stone, to cushion those falls.
Good luck to everyone who is getting the new update
Let’s just be real here I don’t think your a going to think how to fall in the moment 😅🥴😂😂😂

you don't know how muscle memory works
When I fall (clumsy: often) the moment before I hit the ground is very long, allows planning time.
How wrong you are. And wrong as well to be putting down techniques which keep people safe. Shame on you.
This will be very helpful when I enter the steel ball run 😄
What country is this in?
Is there a simulator in the UK? How do we order?
Where and how can I find this place?! A?a a?
Меня многому из этого научала жизнь! Но эта жизнь была полна травм. Как хорошо, что где-то учат экстремальному спешиванию)))

this may be great, but aside from fake stirrups (and padded landings), they're not wearing helmets and it seems that may make a difference

This seems useful, but they really should be practicing while wearing helmets. Dropping and rolling feels different when you're wearing a helmet.

They do if you watch the whole video
Weeee les jump off in the middle of a. Rear won’t a sassy horse kick if you dismounted on a rear?why jump of head first ouch 🤕
Je leert NOOIT van een paard te vallen maar je leert hoe je er op moet blijven zitten
The guy holding the block behind the laddies seems to be having more fun 🤩😅
i can’t even do a roll..
If only Nicholas practiced this. Johnny would've lived happier.
U R CAUGHT OFF GUARD IN AN INSTANT!! U DON'T HAVE TIME TO EVEN THINK!!!!!!!!
The horse riding academy is charging by the hour so this technique better save my life or refund !
Send the refund to my kids when I die
My helmet visor would hit the ground and dislocate my neck if I tried to roll half of these ways, the rule is to land on your feet and hold on the the reins like always.
You let go of the reins!!!! It could hurt the horse and you!!!. Instantly let go so u can fall freely
Falling happens unexpected. You dont get to think how you fall when being thrown through the air at speed.
Then you get on the horse and non of that practise actually works when you fall for real 😂
