Good morning, this was a great video because I kept trying the foil and wondering why it's not working. I kept trying to cure the nail foil polish then put the foil on. Now I see that I don't have to do that. Thanks Greg.

Thank you for this! My first go-round was a mess lol. I think the timing is the key - I saw another YN “instructor” say to cure it instead of waiting 45seconds.
That was my issue! I cured mine and they did not transfer😂 i liked that you can see he doesn't use a lap- just dry time. Much easier instructions!

I've always gotten perfect foil transfers with the YN Transfer Foil base. I have a question though. Would it be possible to put the nail in the lamp to let it dry? I just really want to keep "Sally" from wanting to touch it while also using the timer on the lamp.

I dont know if I actually didnt bought foils (but it dissolve with acetone...) every method of transfer has failed for me...absolutely nothing gets on the nail
Unfortunately, we can't speak on other brands as we do not test them.
Our transfer foil base is an air dry product and you don't have to put any acetone on the foil first. If you do try something like that, we have used our swipe product, but not pure acetone. Acetone melts plastic.
Can you use 4-in1 gel base (then cure) instead of foil gel? If so, do you have to wipe it after curing or should it remain tacky prior to placing/rubbing foil?
Unfortunately, since a 4 in 1 base isn't a product we manufacture, we can't speak on how to use it.

if we add a second top coat after using a no wipe top coat which makes the surface smooth, won’t the second layer peel off?
It depends on the top coat you are using. With the YN Ultimate Finish, it has a slight "dispersion" layer when it comes out of the light but this will dissipate after about 30 seconds to a minute. If you apply directly over that dispersion layer before it dissipates, you won't have any issues. You can also do just a partial cure of 30 on your first coat and it will continue to cure and bond to your second coat.

Hi i apply my foil accordingly but when i put my top coat on the foil smudges very wierd am i suspose to cure or dry foil first🤷♀️
Are you using YN foils & adhesive? And what top coat are you using?
Is the foil transfer a different kind of polish or is it gel polish base coat? I haven't done them yet just got my foils in.
The Foil Adhesive is an air dry adhesive that will leave a sticky surface for the foil to adhere to. It is not a gel polish and does not need to be cured in a light, but it is also not like a traditional polish base coat either. It is specifically designed for transfer foil. (edited)

What if you don't have transfer glue?.is their anything else u can use to replace the glue in order yo get the foil to transfer onto the nail?

can it be applied only with the gel? or with nail polish?
We recommend using the Transfer Foil Adhesive to apply your foils, however, if you let the YN Polish set until it is just barely tacky but not smudge-able, some foils will adhere to it.

Can you use hard gel top coat over foils?
I prefer my gel top coat to be hard gel, so nothing can take it off.
Will it bond to the foils?

Yes, we use our ultimate finish top coat with our foils.
@@youngnailsinc I didn't realize the ultimate finish top coat was hard gel. I assumed because its in a bottle, its soft gel.
I was actually referring to the Gloss Top Coat from the Synergy Gel line.
Can I use that as my top coat, and it still work/bond?
Yes you can also use gloss gel.

How do you stick the nail to the mannequin hend
With our trainer hands, the practice nails click in to an opening that holds it in. The nail he is working on was sculpted out from there.
I was told I had to cure the foil for 30 seconds is that true? Which means I’ve been doing it wrong no wonder it’s not working out for me.

Why not start in the middle opposed to the side?
I am struggling with the transfer base so this video is on time I thought about trying a different base

Sometimes the drying time depends on the temperature. 45 seconds is a general time. If it's colder where you are working then you may need to wait longer, if it's warmer than less wait time.
60 doesn’t work for the one I have unless I’m doing something wrong :/ I have GA&EN Foil glue
We can’t speak on how other brands work as we don’t test them. Waiting for our transfer foil base to air dry is for our product only. You would need to follow the instructions of the company whose product you have.
So if I’m understanding you don’t have to cure the foil gel just let it sit & air dry ? 🤔

@@melissaxo7907 unfortunately the animal prints were a quick in and out so once they sold out that was it. We just have the floral prints still available with are so pretty!
Curious…why is it important to work from one side and not the middle?
Sometimes if you go from the middle out to the sides, it can crease or wrinkle the foil and you may not get a clean application.
The foil transfer gel still wont work for me 😢 the foil will not pull off

Why is it important to go edge to edge and not from the middle?
By starting from the edge, this will allow the foil to sit flatter on the nail & transfer more evenly.
