You could try to, depending on what brand you use you might be able to do it. Some base coats I've tried are actually not too good because there's too much of a slimy tacky layer and all that happens is the foil slides around and doesn't actually adhere properly. But when I've tried coloured gel polishes it just leaves a slight tacky layer 🌸

I use gel polish and cure....but confused...I have foils....but after I put my base color....do I wipe off the residue and stick foil to it....or leave residue after I cure color and stick foil to it....I thought that the residue on color would not allow the foil to adhere to it. Can you explain. Thank you.
The residue from the cured gel polish acts like the glue that helps the foil stick to the gel. If you wipe it off- the gel becomes smooth therefore the foil has nothing to stick to 💖
