2005 was so sad for me because not only did Pat Morita pass away but I knew then there would not be a collision course 2.
Just imagine an alternate universe I do it all the time. Currently flying over saturn on my homemade goonies rocket ship
I saw the movie and it really hash that Rush Hour feel...
They were both formulaic.
It’s a decent movie. Jay Leno and pat morita had a good chemistry in the movie.
Yes! We definitely agree 👏❤️🎬
I loved collision course and gem 80s hilarious classic very underrated with a great cast
One my favourite movies as a kid!!!
Just watched the movie. It was awesome. Thank you.
Lol lmao LMFAO. Jay thought he was doing '48 hours'...
its a fun 80s movie
Agree! 👏❤️🎬
I agree with that. It’s entertaining enough. Plus playing anti-Japanese sentiment for laughs was a pretty bold idea that seemed like a good one at the time, as much as it would be problematic in retrospect. It’s definitely more bold than what the major Hollywood studios were making at the time.
I love Collision Course ❤️ I don't know why he is so hard on himself 😄. I just liked seeing Pat snd Jay together in a cop movie, it was the first "Rush Hour" movie really 🙂
Totally agree with this.
It’s kind of formulaic and all the playing anti-Japanese sentiment for laughs is problematic in retrospect. But they are both very likable in it.
FWIW, I like these short clips as a viewer as a much shorter commitment when I click. I have listened to some of your longer videos, but tend to put them on and watch/listen to them on and off through the day to get through them (but great interviews and well worth watching, Patrick Long and Rod Emory and how I came to find your channel, but took a few sittings to get through the entire videos).
Thank you for the feedback! I'm obviously not J 😅, but I'm helping with the cut downs. Glad to know people are appreciating them!
I don’t care what anybody says it’s my favorite movie I still watch this movie day. 👍
Collision Course was actually a good movie.
It’s entertaining enough, but it was very run of the mill and playing anti-Japanese sentiment for laughs just is very problematic in retrospect.
I've seen the movie collision course. Probably a dozen times, it's not a bad movie, it's just not absolutely great. That gyro jet rocket gun. That Tom Noonan uses in the movie is a real gun and I have seen it in person.
The mini-major studios like DeLaurentis Entertainment Group definitely took more chances that the major Hollywood studios certainly wouldn’t have so much at the time.
Jay is wrong, the movie is a fun watch. There's absolutely nothing bad about it, it's just not anything special. There were a lot of really funny bits in it, and Leno did a great job.
Totally agree. Great 80’s movie
A brilliant movie! It was so much fun to watch!
I can see why Leno never wanted to act again. Filming scripted comedy can be very long and tedious for a stand-up comedian. Plus, you’re essentially insulated with a film crew’s feedback and don’t really know if the gags will really land when it all comes together.
It's on MAX now.
Pretty good movie
It’s entertaining enough. HBO bought the rights to the movie after the original studio that made it went bankrupt.
It was worth a shot because sometimes giving a comic a chance in movies can work (Eddie Murphy in "48 Hours"), sometimes it flops (Jimmy Fallon in "Taxi").
👏❤️😂
It didn’t help that this was released by a studio that was on the verge of bankruptcy.
Theyre there to see Pat...
Not Jay.
Oh, absolutely, he particularly made the whole movie.
all criticism is autobiography
With age, agree with this statement
@@latenightplayset I heard Stokley Carmichael say that in a speech, but he was quoting someone else who I can't remember. ultimately rooted in psychology. maybe Buddhism (we are all one)
🙏❤️😉
Don't forget Leno in American Hot Wax. Allan Freed's limo driver.
We did forget that one
