I believe here they are demonstrating RNP LPV or some GBAS/SBAS autoland, since they mention GPS signals. These technologies would allow autoland even on airports that are not equipped with a physical (and expensive to maintain) ILS system
@@pilotluca_ No they are not demonstrating that in this video. At 3:24 they talk about the ILS components. Moreover, throughout the video you can clearly see the GS and LOC modes active on the FMA, as well as the localizer frequency in the bottom left tuned. Even more clearly, at 4:34 you can see on the navigation display, at the top of the map, it says which approach is loaded into the system, an ILS 14R approach. The GPS signals you mentioned, are being used by the engineers to obtain data and tune the system, they say this in the video at 1:35. Like other comments have said, it seems this video is about them demonstrating the process of how they tune and certify a plane to perform autolands with an ILS
Ok, So A350 can do an autoland and what about other planes? Like A320neo? And can it make it in any airport that hav ils? And what about rnav? Is there any curtain way to understand that i can do an autoland with curtain aircraft and runway?
@@Valentin_MeL and a crew capable of setting up an autoland and an airplane that has demonstrated recently that is can perform an autoland. A bunch of equipment on the plane has to be functioning properly as well
i will pulverize you i swear to god dude boeing has more reliable aircraft than airbus, with a higher MTOW and better runway performance. videos are not something to describe how one major aircraft company is better than another
one of my dreams to be a test pilot
I’ll pray for you Brotha 😎 aim high
one of mine to be a flight test engineer
Same guys… wishing you all the best for it. May your dreams come true❤
This video was so satisfying I don’t know why

Curious on AutoLand tuning during Crosswind......
We look forward to creating the perfect Autoland technology.
Est ce que ce test est effectué pour chaque appareil ou est ce que c'est juste dans le cadre de l'intégration du système en question ?
I'm somewhat confused... hasn't this all happened already with the ILS CAT III support?..
I guess they are just explaining it.

Yes of course, but you still need to test and tune the autopilot of new aircraft models for it

Are you expecting no more tests since the Caravelle autoland certification in the 60s or what? I'm confused about your confusion.

I think every Airbus is autoland capable

Aren't the data for landing readily available when pilot lands the plane manually? Why not take the dataset
Airbus planes are the best for windy landings!

Airbus will always be better than Boeing. Just look at the videos Boeing makes, and then Airbus.
Edit: I basically started a war in the replies.

Boeing used to make way better videos, and they still could in the future.

Vous pourriez faire ces reportages en français quand même…. surtout pour une compagnie comme vous
AIRBUS est européen et l'anglais est la langue universelle, c'est logique de les faire en anglais

Saying a diversion should be avoided doesn’t promote safety… poor choice of words
the days are not away when there will be only a single pilot
what do you mean ?
Good luck with that in a complicated emergency.
@@Fitzfish I hope that there will always be pilots on planes, even with the evolution of planes
@@Diego2504__according to the people working at Airbus there will be. They have said there will always be a human pilot onboard in many interviews
Autoland has been a thing since the 1960s and it’s not a simple process it’s going to take more than that to get to single pilot ops
