I completely agree with you and I'm apart of the old fans, the ones from when they barely started touring with 1D, but you're right. New fans and old fans both should support them no matter what. I don't want them to be a secret because people need to see how amazing they are. But I do get where the old fans get that the new fans aren't loyal. I met this guy 4 years ago. We were doing great. All of our friends seemed really jealous with our relationship. This song reminds me that the day that all of us will grow up, have kids, and get married, and forget about them is what sends me over the edge. I was playing the cover of this and I started to cry. From what I think it means from the song "like the way it felt to fall asleep next to you" means that all the times we have fallen asleep with their songs playing on our phones or ipods, and also "it hurts to know youre happy and it hurts that youve moved on" means that the boys are going to be hurt but thankful for supporting them and being there for them even though we are grown up and gone. Study the lyrics, what it means by "when he says those words that hurt you do you read the ones I wrote you?" means that when we are hurt do we listen to the boys songs/lyrics. almost a month ago i saw them live in my city and everytime i listen to amnesia I start crying because it was the most beautiful thing ever, not only them but the connection and the interaction they had with us. You don't know how good they are until you see them live.
I like the live version a lot better. Usually that's not the case because many artists use autotune to hide there voices and when you hear them for real its just bad but this band has true talent and it annoys me when people bash on them because they don't understand how this band is different and they are true musicians who do magic together as a team. Avee Caesar You can't say that "to you" they are a "boyband." The term "boyband" is a very specific group. All of the boys in this band play interments and they write their own music. They play their own music at concerts, they don't need other people do do it for them. They are similar to One Direction in the way that they were teenagers when they started out and that they a similar fan base, but that's only because 5SOS opened for One Direction. I am not saying that you have to like them at all. You're 100% entitled to your opinion, but you can't say that they are a boy band with out saying that Nirvana,- with the exception of Lori Goldston, who toured with them for a year- All Time Low, Bowling For Soup,Sleeping With Sirens, or Of Mice & Men are all boy bands. Having a group of generally thought good looking, teenage boys who attract females that are on the younger side does not mean that it's a "boyband."

Okay guys, let me just make explain this in a simple way that you people can understand. *5 Seconds of Summer are NOT, I repeat, not a boy-band*, because of the fact that they play their own instruments and write their own lyrics *(although some boy-bands do write some of their lyrics...I think?).* And the fact that they're so young gives them more of an advantage. They're a pop-punk band, if you listen to songs like *'Rejects'* and *'Good Girls Are Bad Girls'*, you'll notice that their genre of music is slightly different to One Direction's or whatever boy-band you're trying to compare them to. Their songs are also inspired by bands like: *Mayday Parade, Blink 182, Nirvana, All Time Low, Fall Out Boy*, all the legendary bands. Even if you think that they will never be as amazing compared to them, 5 Seconds of Summer are a good band and the fact that they're getting hate for being called similar to One Direction is pathetic. One Direction aren't a bad boy-band, they're just not as good as 5SOS, in my opinion...

I completely agree with you and I'm apart of the old fans, the ones from when they barely started touring with 1D, but you're right. New fans and old fans both should support them no matter what. I don't want them to be a secret because people need to see how amazing they are. But I do get where the old fans get that the new fans aren't loyal. Since some of them didn't like them before and only started to like them since they have become more popular. But that's not all new fans, majority of them are amazing. :)

I met this guy 4 years ago. We were doing great. All of our friends seemed really jealous with our relationship. This song reminds me that the day that all of us will grow up, have kids, and get married, and forget about them is what sends me over the edge. I was playing the cover of this and I started to cry. From what I think it means from the song "like the way it felt to fall asleep next to you" means that all the times we have fallen asleep with their songs playing on our phones or ipods, and also "it hurts to know youre happy and it hurts that youve moved on" means that the boys are going to be hurt but thankful for supporting them and being there for them even though we are grown up and gone. Study the lyrics, what it means by "when he says those words that hurt you do you read the ones I wrote you?" means that when we are hurt do we listen to the boys songs/lyrics. This is my opinion and the truth hurts that all of us will grow and love and support them but we will get old and forget about them. But for now I want to just say thank you boys so much because I know I wont be able to say this when I stop being in this fandom and when im grown (which I hope Is not soon at all), seeing you boys grow and become what you are now was a hell of a time. And they are also great performers too and I'm so glad I had found out about this band last year and get to be a part of the 5SOS fam because I got to see all their dreams come true right in front of my eyes and see this family grow into such a great support team not just for Michael, Calum, Ashton, and Luke but for each other and I'm really so blessed for everything that this band and family has helped me through (: *virtually hug*

They are similar to One Direction in the way that they were teenagers when they started out and that they a similar fan base, but that's only because 5SOS opened for One Direction. I am not saying that you have to like them at all. You're 100% entitled to your opinion, but you can't say that they are a boy band with out saying that Nirvana,- with the exception of Lori Goldston, who toured with them for a year- All Time Low, Bowling For Soup,Sleeping With Sirens, or Of Mice & Men are all boy bands. Having a group of generally thought good looking, teenage boys who attract females that are on the younger side does not mean that it's a "boyband."

Okay guys, let me just make explain this in a simple way that you people can understand. *5 Seconds of Summer are NOT, I repeat, not a boy-band*, because of the fact that they play their own instruments and write their own lyrics *(although some boy-bands do write some of their lyrics...I think?).* And the fact that they're so young gives them more of an advantage. They're a pop-punk band, if you listen to songs like *'Rejects'* and *'Good Girls Are Bad Girls'*, you'll notice that their genre of music is slightly different to One Direction's or whatever boy-band you're trying to compare them to. Their songs are also inspired by bands like: *Mayday Parade, Blink 182, Nirvana, All Time Low, Fall Out Boy*, all the legendary bands. Even if you think that they will never be as amazing compared to them, 5 Seconds of Summer are a good band and the fact that they're getting hate for being called similar to One Direction is pathetic. One Direction aren't a bad boy-band, they're just not as good as 5SOS, in my opinion...
