Okay, I feel like I am the only one who feels this way. I watch this and I don't cry, I'm not crying. I'm just sad, depressed. It's like a deeper kind of sadness that only the 5sos fam knows. These were the good days, before Ashton had to yell at paparazzi, before all the mystery girlfriends like Arzaylea and Bryanna, before the Rolling stones magazine(which I don't believe a thing that article says), before Luke looked exhausted, before Ashton and Michael were dealing with depression. Gone are the cute little keeks, gone are the covers that they controlled and posted, gone is the perky, open, loving band. They're still there, I know that, they still love the fans, they just seem so different. It hurts me because I can't be there for them. I can't talk to them. I can't. They don't even know that I exist and how terrible I feel. It just hurts.
Edit: I know they're very happy, I made this comment about a year ago. They've come so far.

So hard to believe that four teenage boys wrote this beautiful song, especially when the video shows them just being the kids they were! Every album they've released is as good or better than the last, and I am blown away by the talent these guys possess - they are true artists who are only getting better with age!
To be honest I love sounds good feels good and doubt they’ll ever drop something I’ll like as much, but not saying they got worse, love their new stuff too, it’s just that album is something else

One day, this band will be no more. And I know that I'll probably get hate for this, but I'm just trying to be realistic. These boys will grow up, fall in love, get married, and start a family. I believe that they will always have a career in music because honestly, I couldn't imagine them doing anything else. But I think it's important to remember the memories that we have with them now before it's too late. These four dorks (good kind of dorks) have given me a new perspective on life. They have taught me to enjoy life, and enjoy the moments in life, because you don't know when your time will be up. They helped me out of my depression, and they gave me a reason to smile; to be happy again. Even if there are millions of people that never get to meet them, I think it's amazing enough that we even had the chance to listen to their music and just get to know these boys, even if it was through our computer screens. The 5sosfam is honestly the most amazing fandom that I have ever been in. They're a family to me. And even though I disagree with a lot of them, we all have something in common. Our love for 5sos. I haven't been here since the beginning, but damn! I wish I was. However, I am thankful for the crazy 6 months that I've been totally in love with these boys. I've made so many memories, even if I have never met them or been to one of their shows. When I have a family of my own one day (hopefully), I'm going to tell my kids all about these four boys and how they flipped my world upside down. I'm going to show my kids their love for their instruments and hope to God that they fall in love with the guitar, drums and the bass as well. So, what I'm trying to say is, I may not have been here from the beginning, but I'll sure as hell be here till the end. Coming here after Michael's soon to be dad announcement, I have to say that I feel incredibly proud of this band and how much they have grown as people. I've been a fan nearly since the start of the band and even though I haven't been keeping up with them as much now, I still hold this band very close to my heart and it makes me proud to see where they are today. Love them forever.

dear people who say they couldn't stay with 5SOS anymore:
yes, you could've stayed. you could've stayed when they didn't release any songs for two years, when they changed haircuts, when they hooked up with girls, when they did something stupid (like never but whatever) and when they took off their piercings etc. because that's a true fan. a true fan stays whether they're active or not, whether they're making good choices or not. because you still love them, no matter what.
i still loved Luke when he left the quiff and lip ring behind. i still loved Michael without his eyebrow piercing. i still loved Ash without his bandana. i still loved Cal when... he did whatever thing.
i mean, they're 5SOS after al????? i fell in love with them and their talent and their songs and i'm not going to just give up on them??? i'm a ride or die, you know, most of us are, and we decided on sticking with them till the end.

I understand what you are trying to say I know I don't like what they are like now and I know I stopped listening to them for 2 years but even in those two years I would still go on their social medias and their youtube because deep down inside I could never let those four boys go.

I'm kind of late but this is exactly what I've been thinking. I keep seeing "fans" on all of their videos saying that they wish they could've stayed but they couldn't. Most of them joined the kpop fandom which is completely okay but there's no rule that says you can't be in more than one fandom. Fans who only appreciate artists for their looks are NOT true fans. True fans don't have to be there in the beginning but they should be there until the end. All of them have made mistakes such as Luke with Arzaylea and Calum with his leaked Snapchat but they are humans who are perfectly capable of making mistakes and being forgiven. Any fan who can make up an excuse for ever abandoning their fandom is not and never has been a true fan. Sorry for my rant, I just felt like this needed to be said

Now we aren't even a family they are fans.I remember when I first discovered them in 2011,best day of my life.I love these boys with everything in me.I left for a while and still thought about their music and stuff and now I'm back. They will forever be my favorite band. But I still wish they made cute keeks and had their old stupid fringes and quiffs. I think the old 5sos would have done it. But I think they've changed their image so that would no longer be the case
reminds me of when i was a really big fan 2014-2017, still play their old music all the time n before when i heard this id be sad and think about them leaving us, but i was the one who ended up leaving. the song sounds personally to me as if im reminding them that they were still a big part of my life. we all grow and change tastes, their new music just wasn’t my style and i ended up drifting off. im glad the boys that were my world can make new fans happy and be their world! take care of them for me ❤️

I had the same situation as you too, I was a big fan of them around 2015 - 2017 and I thought I was going to be with them forever but sadly I kind of drifted away from them. You wake up at earlier than usual due to the notification you got. 5sos made another youtube video. You click on it and see all 4 of the boys sitting there with solemn faces. Calum begins talking "You guys, we have some news. Like its actually kind of really important." Tears stream down Ashton's face as he fails to say his second "I love you". Calum wraps his arms around him and says "For one last time..." Mikey whispers as Luke shuts off the camera, and uploads the last ever video on the 5sos account.

This is how I imagine a heartbreak image.
Years after their break up as a band you find yourself humming this song. You can't quite remember the lyrics so you can't get it out of your head. You go on UA-cam after remembering that this is a 5SOS song and start listening to it. Just then all the memories of those dorks flood into your head and you feel the warm tears streaming down your cheeks. You find that old shirt you had and hold it and the tears keep streaming long after the song is over. Your kid comes home and starts looking for you. He finds you curled up on your bed with tears streaming down, your pillow and that old shirt soaked with your tears and he asks what's wrong and what that symbol on the shirt is. You pull yourself together and tell him that this is the symbol of the greatest dorks that ever changed your life. You show him your favorite 5SOS song and tell them about the family. When they ask you why you were crying you tell them to turn on this song and watch the video. You leave the room since you know you can't handle it. You can hear your kid laughing at the end of the video and turning on another song. In the days that follow you only hear 5SOS songs coming from your kids computer and such and you smile knowing that even if they're not a band anymore the family will live on and a single tear runs down your face....

9 years later, If you're still watching this you're a legend.
I remember that one day I was searching for 'Please don't go' on UA-cam and I found a boy in a blue tank top and a guitar. I clicked on the video thinking he'd suck but really, it was the best decision I've ever made. Seeing this video brings back so many memories of me clicking subscribe to Hemmo1996, of me watching all his covers when he uploaded them. I am really happy that these four idiots came into my life. They've been here for four years. I don't know how I've handled all the tears, all the laughs, all the haircuts, all the hair dyes, all the interviews, new girlfriends, the new tour and many more. But these four boys are my life. I haven't experienced anything like the love I have for them. I can't thank them enough for helping me through rough times. In the end, the boys help me through everything. They remind me that things do get better. Not everything lasts forever. That devastates me. Knowing that my favorite people since 2011 are going to breakup at one time. Knowing that there will be one last song, one last group hug, one last concert, and just one last everything.

Every time I watch this video I can't help but imagine this: you're sitting at a 5sos concert, your husband is at home with your child, while you're here waiting for 5sos to perform the last song of the night. But in this case, it's not just the last song of the night, it's their last song ever. Their last song performed together as a band. After this night 5sos will be no more, they'll go home to their family's and go there separate ways, sure they'll keep in contact and stay friends, but them as a band will be over forever. After awhile the guys comeback on stage. They look sad, but are happy that they made it this far. One by one they walk up to their mics and begin to sing Wherever You Are. The crowd sings along while tears run down everyone's faces. Some people brought their children or teens with them, while others were like you. Alone. While the song goes on the screen behind them starts to play some of their most memorable moments. You see them and start to laugh and you remember everything you've done for this band. Staying up late watching poor quality twitcams just so you could laugh at their crazyness, getting caught listening to their music in class, your mom yelling at you for playing their music too loud. The memories flood your mind like an ocean as you look up at the boys that changed your life forever. You're so great full for everything they've done for you, and you couldn't thank them enough for saving you. Sadly the song comes to an end and by the time they're done they too are crying. The crowd goes wild with cheers. Signs saying "we love you 5sos please don't forget us" and others simply saying "we love you". They look into the crowd, they see old faces that have been to several of their shows and then some new. They don't want to say goodbye, but they know it's time. They look at each other for a brief minute and then Luke walks to his mic and says "hi I'm Luke" then Michael steps forward "hi I'm Michael", then Calum "hi I'm Calum", then Ashton "and I'm Ashton", then all together they say "and we're 5 Seconds of Summer". And with that they take their final bow. AnD WHY DID I DO THIS GOODBYE CRUEL WORLD

Does anyone else feel like sometimes they don't really love us as much as they did then and that maybe we annoy them, even though sometimes I feel like the way they love us will never change because we're the reason they smile. When 5sos started changing in 2015, I became depressed. I have become so attached to this band it's like my whole world revolves around them. I joined the fam in 2013, but I wish I could've joined earlier. When I listen to their old songs, I don't cry. I just feel what you would call 'heartbreak'. But it's a different type of heartbreak, the kind only the 5sosfam knows. And we miss the old them. We no longer have the good ol' keeks, awkward Luke, drama-free lanes, cute covers and all those good stuff. 5sos is getting more and more famous each day. I am selfish for saying this, but I don't want them to get famous. I want them all to us, the fam. I want the old them back, when Luke didn't look tired all the time and when they were all happy. But times change, we gotta change too. It hurts so much that we can't be there for them, we can't talk to them. We can only stay loyal as a fan all the way and support them to show our love. We all have to admit and accept the fact that the boys are who they are now, and we cannot change that. I hope we can all get through the hardships together ❤

i miss 5sos. this 5sos. don’t get me wrong, i support then through EVERYTHING. ive bought their new album, merch, concert tickets everything. but you can see that they aren’t them. maybe it’s maturity. maybe it’s fame. i know they are the same boys but their personalities are so different. they don’t seem as genuinely happy as they did here. i want to give them all. show them that they don’t need to change to catch all of America, Europe, etc. i just miss this 5sos. the 5sos when i first joined the fandom in late 2013. i really love them so much i just want them to be happy and fulfilled. i want to give them the world.
