Beautiful guitar and sounds fantastic, but unfortunately I don't think my arms are long enough to comfortably play that humongous beast.

6000$ guitar with a plastic fretboard. Richlite is ground paper mixed with plastic resin.

I once thought that way too, but the process of making richlite is equal to the price of using other natural woods. Only richlite lasts longer, is more durable and resistance to humidity changes. I have both and though I'm not partial to one, I get the price justification. Either way, Richlite is the way of the future. It's been around for half a decade and many manufacturers are going to it exclusively. You can't feel or hear any difference, though one test done by Martin found it slightly superior in sound.

@@MaciekMalczyszyn I care because I own a couple of very nice Gibson guitars, an older 335 and a beautiful 00-L. Both are a joy to hold and play. I know what the claims are about Richlites superiority. However, no other manufacture uses the material on it's top of the line guitars. C. F. Martin uses it but only on it's plywood body guitars. Gibson has made a number of bad choices over the last 15 or so years resulting it their bankrupcy. Using ground paper and plastic resin in place of wood, judging by the reaction of most high end guitar buyers, appears to be another one. It would be a shame to see them go under.
