In today's harmonica lesson I'll be teaching you to play 'Improvisation in Cm' by Indiara Sfair (on a Bb diatonic harmonica). Nicely tabbed out, like you I don't no what licks I like best,so many nice phrases you can adapt to other tunes. funny you say about using space in a tune I was only pointing this out couple of weeks ago. I find a lot of beginners don't use space they just jam over it. So easy to get carried away when jamming. so glad you pointed this technique out

There is another great tune by Indiara Sfaur called From The West. That is also beautiful and I also have not mastered it yet one bit. I struggle mostly with the fast parts of it.
So maybe you would like to teach that one, too.

Hi Stephane, I'm glad you like the video. Bear in mind that I am using (and so was Indiara) a Bb diatonic harmonica, not a C minor harmonica.

You're welcome Barbara. It's a Bb major (a standard 10 hole diatonic harmonica). Hope this helps!
After havin' purchased the wrong Cm harmonica, I'm back with a correct Bb harmonica, it was so frustrating to be shifted two notes down the left. Nevertheless with the correct Bb it's still very challenging for me! Good thi I can only progress! Thx for you good video

This solo is not about the notes (anyone can play them) but about the articulations, the breath, the vibrato, the portamentos ... All that is the main thing, which makes the solo something fantastic: You can tell us which note to play, where to breathe and what volume is the most indicated, but beauty cannot be described. Anyone can teach us to play well. The important thing is to learn to make music.

Hi, I've been playing for around two months and i already play songs for beginners at the first try so i want to try something new but i don't know what to learn, i was thinking about bending but i don't want to go into bending prematurely.

Why does it sound like a blowing 4 but it’s a drawing -4. I have a Cm Harmonic Lee Oskar and it doesn’t sound like this when doing -4 and -6, but regular blowing 4 and 6 sound like your drawing -4 and -6. Seems like wood harmonicas are more strict in quality.
Hi, thanks for the question. The reason is that I am not using a minor-tuned harmonica (I am using the same type of harmonica as Indiara uses for this song - she doesn't use a minor harp). You would need a different tab to find the notes on a minor harp. I have a few videos about minor harps, starting with this one - ua-cam.com/video/rV_fQvCLZ9g/v-deo.html

Can I play this on my C harp?
You can use the tabs but you'll be playing in a different key so you won't be able to play along to the original or backing track.
