I have the ASU ftdx1200 and I have it set in TTBF, 4 khz bandwidth. I also have my audio settings in the EQ settings set to 3200 hz. Both EQ 1 and 3. And man is it really make your audio sound tremendous it brings the bass up more and you really put out a very good signal
Thanks for the info on the wideband transmit, very interesting. Just bought a new FTdx1200 on 1/10/16 at the Newark Hamfest. Plenty to play with 196 settings to go through!
After 5 years I'm wondering if you still own the ftdx 1200? If so how has it held up, and are you still happy with it? Do you or did you operate it @ 4khz wide always, or was/is there a reason you might've returned it to it's "default" bandwidth setting? If so why? I'm thinking about buying a 1200. The second-hand prices make it a buyer's market. I will be using it on 11 meters (SSB) only. It will basically be a glorified CB radio. If I were a ham operator I would consider the 3000. The ftdx 3000's are also selling for (imo) cheap yet exspsive for a CB radio. It's imo still worth the $. The 4 khz wide operating bandwidth makes it an excellent candidate for a studio mic and mixer. Great shortcut clip. It looks like it couldn't be easier getting the transmitter to transmit à 4 kilohertz wide. Thnx. 73
I need to let my FTDX transmit from 28Mhz to 32Mhz for use with my 2 meter transverter. 28-30 Mhz covers 144-145Mhz and 30-32Mhz covers 146 and 147 Mhz. Is this possible? My Transverter accepts 28-32 Mhz at a Maximum of 10 Watts. 73 vk3xz Mike

Awesome tip for Yaesu FTdx1200 users, like me! Thanks for the tip! Have you seen my tip?
Excellent info , thank you very much . Really considering picking up one of these instead of a 3000 . These can be had for a 1/3 of the price now .
Get it quick, they have been discontinued.
i have the radio for 2 weeks
and still happy with it
It's in the menu to change the startup wording from ftdx1200 to anything you want.

Fantastic. More splatter over the band, how thoughtful.
It isn't splatter. It IS a wider transmit bandwidth.
Stop your crying. .
