    Great job as always. Have you tried the product on some oil based build up? I really like my my OWBs to take out a good amount of build up.

    Whoa, will definitely have to give this one a try! To find a water based that holds well (especially in my hair) would be AMAZING. By the way, I'm definitely digging the Goon Grease! Held very well the first day I tried it, throughout the day and through the wedding (though I did put a little more in before I left), even survived some dancing! Did kinda have to restyle a couple times. the past 3 days I have washed with shampoo and reapplied a little after, and it hasn't held QUITE as well as it did initially, but I'm still playing with proportions n whatnot, plus I move around a lot at work. Anyway, excellent video as always!

      +Ricky Nelson Thanks man! I agree with you in that it takes different proportions for different hair styles, lengths, etc!

    • @RLNelson93
      @RLNelson93 8 років тому

      Yeah for sure, and my hair is ridiculously thick/heavy so it takes a lot lol styles really well when it holds though! I also probably should pick up a good comb as well lol

    • @TheWorkmansPomp
      @TheWorkmansPomp  8 років тому +1

      +Ricky Nelson For sure! It wouldn't hurt to try Goon Grease in addition to something else! It works well for me on its own but I hear others like mixing it with other heavies and mediums!
      Also, try the Cricket Pro 30 comb. It's like 5 bucks, I also talk about it on my equipment vid, but it will change your life!

      Oh that's a good point, I'll definitely do some research on that! And I will for sure throw that in my Amazon cart immediately! Thanks for the advice 👊🏻 also ordering some Captain Bly's Brilliantine asap haha

    Woweee, I'm glad too see it has lived up to what I've set it up to be. One of the roundest shapes I've seen from an OWB ever. So, how does it leave your hair feeling post-shower? That's the big deal with me -- OWB often leave my hair feeling sucked of moisture.
    Absolutely love this new format.

    • @TheWorkmansPomp
      @TheWorkmansPomp  7 років тому

      +npsy nup Depends on the product. Heavier oil based I do every day or every other day. UWB every few days. But if I’m testing products I have to wash my hair daily so it’s fresh for new products

    DUDE! WE HAVE THE SAME JOB!!!! with that being said, you and i know how difficult the job is! so would you recommend water or oil based pomades. i am currently using oil based...should i say using them?

    • @TheWorkmansPomp
      @TheWorkmansPomp  7 років тому

      +guitardude619 It depends on how I'm feeling but long story short I use both. I feel like oil has longer lasting hold in most cases but in the hot weather some make my acne breakout so I'll switch to a UWB for a bit. Sometimes I'm in a hurry and I'll use a UWB. I've been on a UWB kick lately as I have school in the morning before work and need something quick.
      My recommendations for our type of work are : Blackship and NHM WB for the UWB. For oil, either Pomps Not Dead Firmage or Daily Grind as well as Lockharts Heavy and Nostalgic Handmade Firm.

      Honestly, that bad panther pomade is the best water based for my unruly curly hair amongst the 10+ ive used (including big names like suavecito, shiner gold, layrite etc.). Best hold and endurance to straighten the curls. The only pomade that can withstand the heat and humidity in my tropical country. Hold up throughout the day after work and my night gym. My hair didnt even curl up! Other pomades made my hair curl up or fall off in humid,heat or sweat. Miracle pomade for those curly hair dudes and who sweat alot. Trust me. My rebellious curly hair is very stubborn to style. so yes, do a review on that haha :) its a very underrated orthodox pomade.
