This is pure talent - being able to sing the anthem beautifully and play guitar perfectly for such a big crowd at such a young age. I was never a swiftie but mad respect for this and other her entire career now
For all of you who condemn her for playing the guitar while singing, let me ask you this. Did Jimi Hendrix need a guitar to play the National Anthem, or should he have just walked on stage and sang it? He didn't have to, but he did anyway, because he wanted to, and he was a great guitar player. Taylor played the guitar because she wanted to.

Not a taylor swift fan. But i have to admit that she brings a totally different feeling to the anthem, which is not exactly bad. It's just different. And sometimes we need a bit variety and can perhaps understand the song in another way ;)
Dear haters: She was SIXTEEN when she did this. Not a lot of 16 yr olds would have the courage to get up there and try. Yeah it isn't the anthem as we're used to but I liked it. I think the much softer version is better. She did amazing.
1. Not every singer is a vocalist 2. She was in her early stages when she was still learning singing wouldn’t it be awesome if we judged everyones singing ability in a time when they were learning and growing? Check out of the woods acoustic performance from rep tour
I know She’s not Beyoncé, she’s not Mariah Carey (one of my favourite singers) nor Lady Gaga (My favourite singer, I guess) but She has a voice different from the other artists’ ones. It isn’t too powerful, it’s just so sweet and heartwarming, it’s more like a lullaby and don’t forget she writes gorgeous lyrics, she was just about 17 or something like this, she was also playing the guitar and she DIDN’t sing out of tune. So please, stop hating her because of nothing. Hope you did understand what I meant to say even if some mistakes (Don’t hate me, I’m Italian)
Thank yoooouuuu! I can't stand when people expect EVERYONE to sing like Beyonce or Whitney Houston cause NOT everyone sings like that smh, they all have their own unique voice!
I don’t get why everyone says she isn’t a strong vocalist. She just normally chooses to sing softer, especially in her older music. She has a pretty good range (listen to New Romantics and Out of the Woods and you’ll hear it). She was young so cut her some slack. She has a clear voice and can hold notes and doesn’t glide in any of her songs.
Because she's pitchy and shrill. She's improved a lot. But she would not have been a famous artist prior to the auto-tune era. There are plenty of high schoolers that sing better than her both then and now. I'm not denying that she hasn't worked hard and continues to work hard. She also happened to have a lucky break that many more talented than her didn't get. It wasn't just talent. Again, she's improved a lot. She's worked hard. I'm car you think I'm a hater, I listen to her a lot--I like her lyrics. I just don't listen to her live performances, especially her early ones because they are pitchy and shrill. (And in my music, I usually prefer live performances of songs because they have more energy and authenticity.) I think a lot of haters don't give her credit for how hard she has worked to improve her vocal technique. But I can like her music and still say that she's not the most talented vocalist out there. (I've studied music longer than she's been alive.) Her arrangement of this song is nice though. (Like the chords and stuff.) Simple. But nice.
humble beginnings 🥰 not her fan but she totally worked hard for what she has now. and to be fair, she never even claimed to be the best singer nor the best performer so people should stop comparing her to the other main pop girlies. she's successful 'cause she's relatable. she may not be my favorite but i totally respect the hardwork, talent, and dedication
She had a nice outfit on. She played her guitar well and sang normal not screaming n Putting on a show. Very respectful. You can understand the words she didn’t crucify the song, she did a nice clean respectful job singing.
I may be biased as a Taylor Swift stan but this was a thousand times more respectful than most renditions. Most go for spectacle and high notes when it should be about feeling pride and hitting the proper notes.

Her voice has come a long way she sang beautifully here but she still had a lot to learn. I can’t believe she sang at the Phillies World Series and I didn’t know much of her then.
SOMEONE LET HER SING NATIONAL ANTHEM RN HER BELTSS HAVE VIBRATO AND CONTROL NOW
No they dont
@@laurencipolla7340 they?
@@frankiegrandegivesmenightm7432 her belts and vibrato and non existent, you cant control something if you dont even exist
@@laurencipolla7340 🤦♂ she started using vibrato at her rep tour dont talk abt taylor u barley know any of her songs and folklore miss girl 💀
@@laurencipolla7340 bruh what is this grammar chile anyways miss swift went from shaky a4s to sustained e5s-g5s
I like this version so much.. very cute, honest and true to herself....❤️❤️❤️
National Anthem Taylor’s Version. Her voice is just so soft. She’s amazing here
She’s so cute.. and loved that she brought her guitar and sang it in a country version
This is pure talent - being able to sing the anthem beautifully and play guitar perfectly for such a big crowd at such a young age. I was never a swiftie but mad respect for this and other her entire career now
She makes you believe in this country again.
I came here expecting to laugh but this was kinda sweet. I miss her "fearless" phase.
Golden era ❤️❤️❤️
For all of you who condemn her for playing the guitar while singing, let me ask you this. Did Jimi Hendrix need a guitar to play the National Anthem, or should he have just walked on stage and sang it? He didn't have to, but he did anyway, because he wanted to, and he was a great guitar player. Taylor played the guitar because she wanted to.
68corvette08 don't ever compare that talentless plastic hack to one of the most incredible and influential rock musicians of all time.
@@buggabuggaboy Talentless? Where? You can dislike her music but calling her talentless is literally lying to yourself
Did you just compare Jimi Hendrix to Taylor Swift? There’s not even a comparison lol
@@ciaradiam0nd he literally didn't compare them lol. He just said that there is nothing wrong with playing guitar while signing the national anthem.
Now I’m imagining Hendrix walking up to the microphone without a guitar and singing a cappella
These kind of rendition must be the one to get attention because its angelic and really beautiful everwytime you listen on it..You cant judge this by just listening if its high pitched but on way she sang it ...😘
I love her version so peaceful and calm.....
Her voice was still very shaky during this time, but it’s so much stronger now.
I’m in love with The Star Spangled Banner (Taylor’s version) 🥰🥰🥰
What the heck I was not expecting the end! She’s really a great singer
I'm not American, but this is one of the sweetest and most beautiful covers I have ever seen
Young taylor even her voice sounds very young....love u TS....
Omg I love her seeing this in 2024 is so sweet still has the same voice and beauty
Aw I love this it’s exactly right for her style back then
Would be interesting to hear her sing this now that her voice has matured.
I am 61 and this is the 2nd best rendition of the national anthem I have ever seen. The first was Whitney Houston's.
Her voice has changed so much, taylor is just everything to my world.
My dad is a US citizen and I have shown him this video and he sang it together with the video 😢😢❤❤Respect to America 🇺🇸 from 🇮🇳❤❤👏👏😀👏😀☺️😉We’ve got your back and support
When is she gonna sing the national anthem again? The 2018 Taylor Swift.
Never she was horrible
I miss this subtle, sweet, country Taylor Swift.
Now she became a stuck-up
Who’s here after Lady Gaga’s performance for the Inauguration.
Bruh me
Me and after Ariana, Beyonce and Aretha Franklin

I'm British and it's now 2024 and I'm just seeing this, but I thought she sang it beautifully and at such a young age. That's a lot of pressure for anyone, but she is still so professional.
Finally, a song she sung that I could understand the words.
Not a taylor swift fan. But i have to admit that she brings a totally different feeling to the anthem, which is not exactly bad. It's just different. And sometimes we need a bit variety and can perhaps understand the song in another way ;)
such an innocence in her voice ..........also she didnt scream it like screamtina and sounded pleasant at least!
Vansh Mishra i lost it at screamtina hahaha
Amazing ❤ She will forever be my favorite.
Watching at January 2024. Cant wait for Taylor's Version! 🫶🫶🫶
Nice, classic, pleasant National Anthem style.. nothing overdone.
Dear haters: She was SIXTEEN when she did this. Not a lot of 16 yr olds would have the courage to get up there and try. Yeah it isn't the anthem as we're used to but I liked it. I think the much softer version is better. She did amazing.
Autumn Wilkins shush up micheal Jackson did it when he was frickin 8 Look it up
These singers need to sing faster cause holding flags aint an easy task. Eminem should do it
Faris Othman 😂
Faris Othman
Faris Othman my favorite comment 😂😂💀
😂
Lol
I had to come back 16 years later because I forgot how the anthem sounds like after hearing Ingrid Andress.
Wow love this she’s so beautiful and her voice is beautiful.
Anybody who stands in front of a stadium full of people deserves respect.
the sweetest rendition❤❤❤
1. Not every singer is a vocalist
2. She was in her early stages when she was still learning singing wouldn’t it be awesome if we judged everyones singing ability in a time when they were learning and growing? Check out of the woods acoustic performance from rep tour
A true voice of an angel ❤
Simple and Beautiful. She sang from her heart...
Taylor always does her best and that’s all that really counts. She’s America’s sweetheart through and through.
she's not a bad singer, but she's not a strong vocalist
She's great you're just jealous she's better than you'll ever be
+eating raw faces is my least favorite thing to do. shush, i'm trying to be nice
Your right, her vocals do need work.
Right
I like to see you sing. Upload it to your channel. Better watch what you say.
Hope you did understand what I meant to say even if some mistakes
(Don’t hate me, I’m Italian)
Thank yoooouuuu! I can't stand when people expect EVERYONE to sing like Beyonce or Whitney Houston cause NOT everyone sings like that smh, they all have their own unique voice!
@@latinadavis3691exactly!! I'm so tired of people forcing her to sing like Gaga or Grande 😭
She did so good ❤
So respectful and beautiful.
She's one of the few who actually uses 3/4 for the anthem, most other artists sing it in 4/4 arrangement
Didn’t Francis Scott Key originally write it in 3/4?
@@TimmyTickle Probably but most artists sing it in 4/4
National Anthem (Taylor’s Version) Taylor for president
I don’t get why everyone says she isn’t a strong vocalist. She just normally chooses to sing softer, especially in her older music. She has a pretty good range (listen to New Romantics and Out of the Woods and you’ll hear it). She was young so cut her some slack. She has a clear voice and can hold notes and doesn’t glide in any of her songs.
Cause she’s not, she has zero vibrato and just talks, 🤷🏾♀️ ✌🏽
(I've studied music longer than she's been alive.)
Her arrangement of this song is nice though.
She played her guitar well and sang normal not screaming n
Putting on a show. Very respectful. You can understand the words she didn’t crucify the song, she did a nice clean respectful job singing.
I Love How Taylor Swift Sang So Beautifully!
Bro how am I getting this in 2024, ITS FROM 8 YERS AGO
Its from 16 yrs ago actually..
math is mathing lol
This is my favorite version of the National Anthem. Actually, tied for first with the version by Terre Roche on the album "US an' Them"
I may be biased as a Taylor Swift stan but this was a thousand times more respectful than most renditions. Most go for spectacle and high notes when it should be about feeling pride and hitting the proper notes.
Emm no 😂
There, you already said it "biased"
Whitney Houston was one of the best
