    That is a beautiful 520. I use a 530 on some of my adventures, but a 520 is on my bucket list to own someday. I wish you joy of it. Great video.

    Nice video. Thanks for showing one of these historic stoves in actual use. I see below that someone mentioned preheating. You can use alcohol or just open the valve and let the preheat cup fill a little bit with fuel. It will hit the burner plate and drain down into it. I think these are really neat, but they are too tall and top heavy for my taste. Good to use on the ground though. These were built very well. Especially the Coleman ones like this. After the war, Coleman made a civilian version, the 530 to capitalize on the success of this one. Its nearly identical but no fold out feet and even more top heavy. But it was built like a tank with a chrome plated fount and stainless upper components. Thanks again.

    Just stumbled upon you channel and I have to say that that 1945 stove did a really great job of heating the water and cooking up the eggs 🍳 😊
    Keep up with the great videos.

      Thank you kindly mate 👍🏻. If you pick up a coleman in fair condition there are not much to it. Easy to use it seems 😊 I will make a video about the equipment when I get time to do so if you like 👍🏻 but please have patience with me, as my old farther is hospitalised at the moment and seems like he doesn’t have much time left in this life 😔. So family first! Thank you and all the best

    Those also came with a container that doubled as a pot and pan.

    • @zufuss
      @zufuss  2 роки тому

      Yes sir, thank you for your comment 👍🏻. I have the container for it. But it didn’t appear in the video… ads quite some weight to the burner and further more I wouldn’t want to cook in it 🤮😂👍🏻 best Lars

    What was it that you put the eggs on top off? Some kind of bread? looked different than anything we have here in the States.

    • @zufuss
      @zufuss  10 місяців тому +1

      It's called Knækbrød ( knæk = crack and brød = bread ) here in Denmark. I believe it is Swedish of origin. Its a bit like a cracker but without sugar. The ones in the video is made on rye flour. Thanks for watching mate 🙂👍🏻

    why does it go out during ignition? low pressure in the tank or you need to open the valve a little more so that the fuel output is better

    • @zufuss
      @zufuss  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you for your question 😊👍🏻
      There a good pressure to begin with. I think it needs to warm up and when it gets warmer it gets a clean and stable burn. But I’m not sure.

    There are video out how to make your own white gas . check it out . There is so much junk in gas compare to white gas not to mention that white gas lasts so much longer and burns cleaner . Gas goes bad in weeks not what you want in your stove .

    Well this is a great video, however I need to point out this lighting is 100% WRONG...that little cup you see sitting on the generator, or mounted just below the brass valve is meant to be filled with fuel, this is the PRE-HEAT cup, that preheats the generator, so you don't have this explosive fire ball...if you fill this cup about 3/4 of the way , and light it, the flame will catch, and about 1 minute you can then, open the valve a little more, in fact you'll see the flame spreader, sputtering when its time to open it, to get it all going..it will sound like a percolator, with small flames...please try this, and you will see what i mean...I'm concerned to prevent anyone from being injured, great video on this otherwise

      Thank you mate, you are absolutely right. I have since been aware of the use of the small cup. But thanks for pointing it out, we are all learning something new every day 👍🏻🙂. Thanks for watching and all the best
