hot tent and bicycle overnighter. OneTigris TEGIMEN
Переглядів 20310 місяців тому
here in Denmark it's not legal to drive motorised in most of our woods, so hot tent is a bit of a challenge due to weight of the gear, tent, oven etc. Last fall I renovated an old Danish postal service bicycle for the purpose 😂. it makes it some way easier to get to the woods with all our gear. First time using the onetigris hot tent, it went well and first impressions are good. thanks for watc...

Do you think i can fit a sea to summit ether light xt extreme large (198 x 64 x 10 cm) sleepingpad inside plus a Carinthia Defence 6? Im a small guy that is only 172cm and 70kg.
Thank you for your question. If you use a groundsheet you can place it underneath. I think inside will most likely also work, but the hight of the mattress will limit your space inside the bivy. Let me know if you want me to measure the width of the bivy.. length vise there will be no issues. Best Lars

I just ordered one of these for my Jaakari M, as an additional "pouch". I too was thinking of getting rid of those inner pockets, as they will not serve a purpose for me either. Simple, simple mod!
Thanks for your comment and thank you for watching 😊👍🏻. For me it made more sense to get rid of the internal pockets as they did not serve any purpose for me. Keep us updated on your experience with your HATKA 😊👍🏻 Best Regards Lars
Sorry for your loss. The video is indeed touching. Even after almost a year. The stove looks new and it should have built more pressure. Please use alcohol for priming it, you avoid soot from building up on that bell. Properly closing the tank would guarantee better pressure build up and consequently proper burning . Please do not turn the small knob which is within the cap, especially while burning the stove, this is a safety measure to release excess pressure from the tank, and could cause fire. All comes with experience after all. As someone mentioned, when using a squillet, please make sure the tank cap is not facing you and better using a small squillet and for short time types of cooking. All the best my friend and enjoy the outdoors 🙏🙏🙏🪓🌲
Thank you very much for the kind words and thank you for the information on the stove. Very useful mate 🙂👍🏻👍🏻 All the best Lars
Have one in M05 on the way from the mighty mighty Varusteleka. It looks like a great/simple little pack for day hikes and maybe if I'm clever packing it, maybe an over nighter? Enjoyed the demo man, great work. Interesting to see you removed the internal dividers, I may well do that too. Have fun in the woods 🌲 🌲 ⛰ !!!! 🇬🇧
Thank you for taking you time to watch and post a comment. It's a nice little pack for sure. For an overnighter it's definitely on the small size..keep me updated and good luck 👍🏻 All the best Lars
I am sorry for your loss.
Thank you 🙏
What is the cost of the wax and waterproofing? Thinking it might be cheaper to get an oversized tarp and extra tent poles.
The cost of the wax and waterproofing wasn't that much. A tarp is definitely an option but I was hoping to get it waterproof to avoid adding extra weight to the tent. Anyway the conclusion is IMO buy a better tent from start, I'm not gonna use the French one anymore 🙃. Thank you for watching and taking you time to leave a comment 🙂 👍🏻 Best Lars
Wow!! Love that oven. I rarely seen it on YT. I’m going to have to try it out. Just bought the same tent but never got a chance to use it as we are in spring weather.
Spring here also, but these days the hot tent is still possible 🥶 2-3 degrees celcius here in Northern Denmark. Are you referring to the tent oven or the omnia oven? Thanks for watching mate 🙂👍🏻 Best Lars
Hi. I have dutch surplus bivy and made by carinthia and it's labeld like the right one. Ykk zipper, (gas permeable laminate), and carinthia made. Got it for 80€ There is 2 type surplus bivy one made by carinthia and one by spanish company under license.
Well this is a great video, however I need to point out this lighting is 100% WRONG...that little cup you see sitting on the generator, or mounted just below the brass valve is meant to be filled with fuel, this is the PRE-HEAT cup, that preheats the generator, so you don't have this explosive fire ball...if you fill this cup about 3/4 of the way , and light it, the flame will catch, and about 1 minute you can then, open the valve a little more, in fact you'll see the flame spreader, sputtering when its time to open it, to get it all going..it will sound like a percolator, with small flames...please try this, and you will see what i mean...I'm concerned to prevent anyone from being injured, great video on this otherwise
Thank you mate, you are absolutely right. I have since been aware of the use of the small cup. But thanks for pointing it out, we are all learning something new every day 👍🏻🙂. Thanks for watching and all the best Lars
Just use a fly sheet
What was it that you put the eggs on top off? Some kind of bread? looked different than anything we have here in the States.
It's called Knækbrød ( knæk = crack and brød = bread ) here in Denmark. I believe it is Swedish of origin. Its a bit like a cracker but without sugar. The ones in the video is made on rye flour. Thanks for watching mate 🙂👍🏻 All the best Lars
Wasa Crispbread is available in most grocery stores here in the states. Good stuff.
Have you done a winter overnighter with any of these and if you did, what kind of sleeping bag did you use, ive heard that a bivy ads 10C worth of value to your sleeping bag, what are your thoughts on it ?
Thank you Alexander for watching and your question. I have not used it in negative temperatures. I have used it in early spring with night temperatures around 3-4 degrees celcius. I use the carinthia defence 4 sleeping bag. Best Lars

Hello. I can see the Dutch army Bivi 24 years old. If you was me, would you buy a new Carinthia - XP II GORE-TEX Plus Bivy 1-person Tent.. or a really old carinthia Duch army bivi? It's a genuine question as I'm so torn between going for new but thinner so less quality or really old but thicker.. all being a risk of the gortex de lamenting due to age. What advice tou you guve me as imminnthe market for a purchase and came across this fabulous video ❤
That's a good question. Depends on what condition you are able to find the Dutch bivvy bag. Also are you going to use it a lot or only now and then and in which condition, with or without a tarp? Where are you located mate? Best Lars
@@zufuss Thanks so much for your reply.. I'd use it every night for months.. I live in the UK.. under a tarp. It rains alot here. Iseen this video ua-cam.com/video/IFy6fn8jO_o/v-deo.htmlsi=qCkJwNyilaP6fIuB so a tarp is essential imo for the constant use. I've heard that actual gortex in the carinthian de laminates as they were made 20 years ago.. that's my only thing holding me back.. but I loved the thicker build quality. Idk.. it would be under a tarp though. Best. Don.

@@zufuss Hi mate. I've just messaged you on Facebook.. ;-) P.
I have 5 M40's, stainless steel. They fit in the Swedish Gas Mask bag with all of the parts to include the windscreen, burner, fuel bottle, flame adjustment cap, 2 butter dishes I use to hold the salt and pepper, flatware and more. The bag can be strapped to your pack, put inside the pack or slung over your shoulder.
Is it really made from 1,000D Cordura? Savotta’s own website says the material is 500D.

Hi and thanks for showing us the product like this. I'm wondering a little about the width of the backpack. What are the measurements of the piece of sleeping pad that you have cut out and placed in the outer pocket? What would be the maximum width of something you put in that pocket?
