You can’t eat your cake and have it back. In their desperation to deal with Abbo (which I support), the APC government shot itself in the foot. They hurriedly instructed the IGP to investigate and prosecute. Now the case has gone to court and is sub judice. I don’t support this guy but the moment the case went to court, the senator cannot speak on the matter in public. Stop crucifying the senator because as much as I want Abbo to be dealt with, he’s correct on this issue. The law is clear that once a competent court of law becomes seised of a matter, you can no longer comment on it outside the court. I know most lawyers breach this principle but it remains the law. This man did no wrong here; rather it is this woman that is arrogant.

We expect the highest standards of conduct and behaviour from our politicians and public officers. However this shambles of a hearing was ill-advised. They should have made enquiries quietly and subject to those enquiries issue a temporary suspension/leave pending the outcome of the prosecution.
