Jensen and Nvidia are so cool modern nations vying for power and dominance could learn from how nvidia is yielding their gpu dominance for better good by seeking fast moving cooperatives and partnerships with classic competitors rather than dominating and smearing.
Imagine writing a research paper, with a meme-able title, thinking it was mostly useless. Then years later it made the architecture of computer hardware develop around it.
No doubt a brilliant mind buy also a salesman of course. I think that if you have to add an expensive GPU to the CPU to overcome computation inflation, the cost of computing will rise and not come down., not for the big players because their investments will generate cash, like for OpenAI, but for the consumer yes.
Yeah, a bit underwhelming in my opinion as well but cool to see their new interconnect and get a tease of what's next. Most notably... ZERO info or mention of the 5090
15 year plan. I mean, it's very fortunate that GPU's lend themselves to so many things. He took advantage of what was there, but I don't see it as a master plan.
GPUs don't just "lend themselves" to many applications out of luck, Nvidia had to work for decades to make that reality with CUDA, long before AI was a commercial possibility. Wall Street punished them for following the master plan, but they did anyway and are reaping the rewards now. If anything, Jensen likely EXAGERRATES the extent to which parallel computing beyond graphics was embraced before CUDA, his anecdotes about researchers coming to him in 2005 are likely embellished. So if anything Nvidia downplays how much they hard to WORK to make GPUs useful, not the other way around. To this day there are many types of applications that could be more parallel that aren't yet.
I don't think the term means what you think it means. GPUs are the product with the most materially measured performance in the history of computer science. Yourube comments are just a cesspool of resentment and whining...
He is selling linear algebra to people as if it were real intelligent AI that can replace humans at most jobs, on top of that he is saying we should not learn to program. That I was referring to.

Very cool to literally be living in the cyberpunk future I used to read about as a kid.

The irony is truly incredible. However, the real fields-medal of memeability goes to the guy who wrote a paper titled "supervised self-play"
Thanks for this!!! Their cut scenes are so annoying 😂
Should be a relaxing watch on a Sunday afternoon! :)
V much so 😊
Let me join to thank for cutting the fluff.

But he said if we buy more we save more! (joking)
Waiting for "hairworks" moment for AI lol
My gf would also appreciate that - curing being bald with AI would be a real game-changer haha

Deja vu from GTC. I was hoping to see something new.

So he said GPT4 has 2 T parameters. Compare it with the competiton like mistral.
This was one of the more interesting tidbits from the keynote IMO!

I wouldn't necessarily say this is all a result of luck, but yeah nVidia did manage to position themselves well.

China after Olympics: "No."
Haha, goes without saying, nVidia's future does basically completely hinge on TSMC not getting glassed by China
Blackwell is insane !!!
Hopefully we see this result in the 5090... soon TM haha

Revux is being mentioned everywhere - definitely a project to watch!

Anyone else noticing the hype around Qventi? Feels like another Revux in the making.
