- Never seen before behind the scenes footage of Bowie rehearsing in NYC. We were there. Funny story is as we were wrapping up, Rich, who had come up with us, got to spend 20 minutes chatting with Bowie and his entourage . A cherished memory made all the more special after Bowie's passing.
This is a treasure.
The most perfect side profile in the history of anyone ever being photographed.
his rehearsels are better than most actual concerts of others
Wow, Carlos basically ran rehearsals. Very cool to see.
Yep! From 1976 to this very tour he was a musical director, which basically means he was running the reharsals
Both Bowie and Alomar were lucky to have met each other back in 1974.
He was the music director for that tour.
I love and miss you David
sincere thanks for this wondrous upload....i miss bowie immensely...
I wish I had his hair ... and his talent.
This is how a rehearsal is supposed to be run. Fun to watch and Bowie sounds in great voice as always. Everyone having serious fun!
And the world is now a better place for this bit of footage..
Just love looking at the excitement on Richard Cottle's (the young Keyboard player) face, he's absolutely loving it.
Thank you David for all and for ever. And thank you Carlos too...
Bowie was always sorrounded by magnificent musicians... specially on first guitar
And dancers. He was engaged to Elizabeth Hurley. But broke it off. Must say she's a great dancer.
Does anyone have a copy of SHINING STAR VIDEO LIVE IN CONCERT????
@@susankeller164 Melissa Hurley is the name of the dancer.
Carlos is no Peter Frampton but he made some helluva musical contributions to Bowie’s records. Especially (Carlos!!) on rhythm guitar. There was no Hall without the Oates.
RIP Mick Robson
You were one of the best!!❤🎶
he even puts on a show in rehearsal .awesome footage
He was just as charismatic in rehearsal Than live , thank you for this rare look at the thin white duke who is sorely missed.
its the cocain ^^
@@Xemerius7 he kicked coke in the late 70s in Berlin
love him always
Bowie in Rehearsal in NYC in Prime Form! Looking sharp and sounding great! Peter Frampton on 🎸 Guitar! Incredible Close Footage!
Thanks to whoever recorded this and thanks to whoever posted this on UA-cam. The Best Hair since Elvis!
Amazing! .
RIP Bowie
Got to see this Glass Spider Tour Concert in Anaheim, CA in 1987. To say that I feel lucky to have seen his magnificent showmanship is quite the understatement. Excellent experience!
I was at that show as well.
What an absolutely amazing voice he had, even here in a rough rehearsal setting his singing is perfect.
that's true... and it looks so easy for him to perform... he is adorable in all aspects
His voice is like smooth liquid gold
The greatest...the king...the starman...love Bowie
David's harmonica solo during Never Let You Down...
Bowie had this catalogue of Songs like no one else had .... and the 90's Songs were still come ....
David Bowies Glass Spider Tour was so underrated....it was full of spiritual messages GBX7
It was an awful Tour !. Overblown & indulgent, supporting an awful album.
Bowie's low point !
Damn, you can really feel how professional they were in this intimate setting
Thank you for sharing this footage of David, Carlos, Carmine, Peter & the band. David Bowie's legacy will live on forever.
Agree
Effortlessly cool
What absolutely fantastic footage. ❤
Just Brilliant!!! OMG I was 15 around this time now I'm 43. Time Lies Waiting in the Wings! Thank you!!! RIP David, Legend!
He certainly knew how to put a band together.
Thanks for uploading this footage. This is a gem! Bowie and Peter Frampton together! Frampton on guitar, a great talent in his own right! I especially like that he sang Blue Jean which is one of my favorite Bowie songs. Now I'm sorry I missed this tour. Also, Bowie looks in top form here with the perfectly styled hair and steel toed shoes smiling and having fun. What a smooth voice he had! He will be missed.
Hearing these tracks live is amazing. I think they sounds way much better than they do on the records
Bowie is an Alien Star Comet streaking the Galaxies and Milky Way and his music is heard all over the Universe.
SeaBassVamp
SeaBassVamp So true. His music is now illuminating the dark matter of the Universe . In about early 2018 Elon launched a tesla into endless space looping Bowie's Starman ; go figure?!!!
Oh Man the 80's (shakes my head)
Yeah I was there, and I love it all 😕
Time Will Crawl is an excellent song. So underrated
This is great! Thank you so much for posting! I don't care what anyone else had to say about this tour, he always amazed me!!!
This was my only Bowie gig and it had to be this tour... I saw the Sunderland Roker Park show with Big Country in support and it was overblown and cheesy. Frampton was too rockist for this pop & funk fan.
Peter Frampton kills it every time. Damn!
How do we lose Bowie & Prince in the same year? Just months apart. Ridiculous.
Two artist i will mourn for a very long time.
@@pauldailey4477 What's this stupid comment supposed to mean anyways?
@@Slinkygal ~ I’ve reported it ~ never let the racists/antisemites win. 🤮
God sucks
Sorry I was late to the party. Glad i missed Pauls comment. I suppose someone had it removed?? Maybe he should go watch the interview where Bowie goes in on MTV for not playing any black artist during the day. Allot of my friends and family also have no clue that’s Luther in Young Americans. Carry on folks. Just picked up Station to Station in Red Vinyl. Nothing short of an amazing record! 2021. Love you man. Thanks for your gift.
Not only Bowie and Prince passed . That TERRIBLE YEAR , all MUSIC lost a bunch of GREAT MUSICIANS like Keith Emerson, Isao Tomita, Greg Lake , Glen Frey. Maurice White , Leon Russel, Billy Paul, George Michael and George Martin among others
It's great to see them doing rehearsal and going through the process. Thank you for posting this.
Brilliant...absolutely Brilliant ...The Legend Lives on :)
Time willcrawl is a hell of a tune..a rehearsal better than most would produce in a career. Rip
That was so interesting. There must be tonnes of unreleased rehearsal material knocking around. Plus studio stuff. I've heard there is a vault with lots of stuff in. Bowie told an up and coming musician to never throw anything away as you never know when you will need it again. He had stuff he wrote and never released at the time only to revisit years later and rearrange it.
Think he gave Iggy Pop that advice. It came in handy.
perfection of sound envisioned by our sweet smiling friend miss him
That keyboard player is having the time of his life! lol
He's a joy to watch
Richard Cottle
lucky basrard in Bowies band
Because he knows how privileged he is to be making musical history. 👍🏽❤🎶
Ah yes! Richard. He was like that the whole Tour. Nice guy.
I love this so much
1. Never Let Me Down 0:00 2. Blue Jean 3:22 3. Time Will Crawl 7:50 4. Shining Star 13:24
This is actually an astonishing video. Thanks a ton for the post. These versions sound amazing and I bet if the Never Let Me Down album had sounded more like this the album would be much more appreciated.
This version of Shining Star is particularly meaningful because Bowie never wound up playing it live on the Glass Spider tour. Very rare find! Unfortunately the version here has a few stops and starts but it also gives a glimpse of what this song could have been. I've always felt it should have been a hit.
the fact that Bowie performed most of NLMD live /probably the most since Diamond Dogs tour ! Always thought album was OK back in the day !
When I saw him in '87 he never did Shining Star.
I've always loved this song too
This is so much better than the overproduced, overchoreographed, overblown Glass Spider shows. Thanks for posting.
Maaan, miss this guy. Great tunes rehearsal...
rip special man x
The band is superb!!!!
Thank you for posting-for the ones who miss him so much
And I'm one of those, of course
Never Let Me Down, I love that song
I admired Bowie, he's was always cool!! #Legend 🍻🍻🌹✌️
thank you so much for sharing this special video... much appreciated. He is adorable in all aspects. What a talent! All the musicians in this rehearsal too.... I mean this is live and it sounds perfect
Thanks for the video. This was a great tour! Loved it!
Carlos Alomar did some great guitar pyrotechnics as the intro to the GS tour!!
These songs are so much more convincing than the overblown production of the actual live show. Bowie was at his best just fronting a band, not all the extra bs.
thanx realy very nice to see!!!!
Time Will Crawl seems to have added poignancy now.. especially in this intimate performance. RIP.
Thank you very much for this gift ! Greetings from Brazil !
The one and only chance to hear shining star performing absolutely love by Bowie!
Love ya David.
Thank you to the poster for this footage. 👍🏽❤🎶
Very cool! Thank you!
Wow fantastic. I never much liked the album..not even the tour but in rehersals here David is fantastic. Thx for downloading.
Saw this tour in Chicago what an under rated album and show❤️ it was fantastic
Thanks so much. I love this video.
obrigada... maravilhoso... querido... inesquecível.. Bowie.. amado para sempre !!!
He's fascinating to watch.😂😂😂
See... He's having a good time here! 😛
Cool, thanks for the upload! Must have been fantastic to be there.
10:19 -- I'll have two of whatever the keyboard player is on. 😂
Great rehearsal footage. This is probably my favourite version of "Time Will Crawl", which is one of my favourite Bowie songs.
Beautiful
David Bowie est un artiste à part du monde de la scène ,une stars ,une vrai qui laisse derrière lui une œuvre qui marque à jamais le monde de la musique .
Thank you so much for this video. He was an awesome artist and being.
This damn cigarrets😔 LOVE FOREVER💋
Che bravi..grande Bowie
Bowie is above ......
Great find and footage. thanks for uploading. i used to have footage of a soundcheck rehearsal in a different setting from this tour on Beta. Cant find it anywhere.
Darko Gavrilovic that's a shame
magnificent................................. my ears paradise ... my eyes the universe
Sometimes one forgets this one fabulous man made all these different albums in such diverse eras. BUT replace that white electric with a blue acoustic, you still see flashes of Ziggy
Today is jan 18 2022 i watched 4 of davids best! With his best band ever!!
Te quiero!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️💋💋💋💌🌜
Siempre...siempre..para toda la eternidad..
Allí dónde estés..mi ángel..❤️❤️❤️💞🙏🙏

1:20 , I Can't Give Everything Away. Bowie knew what he was doing, always, all ways.
Thank you so very much for sharing this. It brings me right back. Incredibly special and yes, a wonderful gift.
Hello From San Francisco ! 🌊🔥🔥🌊
The concerts are for the fans' enjoyment, the rehearsals are for their own.
Just watching him in his elements and enjoying himself, you can't help feeling you'd enjoy hanging out with this very normal dude, oops, I mean Duke.
Hanging with him that afternoon and being in that room...unforgettable...amazing day and amazing performer. So tragic he was taken too early
I mean...his worst day in rehearsal would be another bands greatest achievement
C Math . what were you writing about that led you to put...I mean..his worst day in... please let me know and others as well..ty.. just curious..
Amen to that Sisters and Brothers 💖
True! Though I loved this album a lot
Well said!!!
@@kimberlyjohnson1371 I think he's just just saying that even if he sounded bad in rehearsal, not saying that he did but even if he did, he sounds better in rehearsal than any other band does in their greatest achievement performance
I was at the Glass Spider Tour, Fijenoord Stadium - The Netherlands in 1987. The whole show was amazing and Bowie´s voice unreal and mesmerising. Enjoyed Peter Frampton on guitar.
This is wonderful. Thank you for sharing these awesome memories.
Thanks for posting, brought a tear to my eye watching this. Amazing 👏
This is awesome, thanks!
Thank u to who took the time in uploading this great fantastic footage
It's absolutely brilliant
To b a pro in practice is taking it serious thats a sign of a real pro he plays so well I'm like that at band practice .so missed Peace to all lov on ya
Glass Spider Tour includes the most Bowie's pop songs.
David never aged. R.I.P. STARMAN. YOU ARE SOOOO MISSED, DAVID BOWIE JONES.
Thanks just great!
Thanks so much for sharing this
So handsome man 🥰
Time is a flier.
Bowie rockin his Daryl Hall look.
That's one serious mullet Bowie's got there.
This tour needs a proper dvd/4k release
Peter Frampton looks as happy as a bug in a rug
Oh my flippin' . . . . I adore this gorgeous creature with every fibre of my being 🖤💙🖤
Never knew he could play harmonica! Add it to all his talents!
It must have been a great pleasure to work with him, given his amazing personality.
