    Thanks! Never heard of Arthur Strachan before so as a fan of this genre this is exciting stuff. I always love to hear accounts of these adventures in the wilderness from people who have experienced it first hand.

    Bravo 👏 That was a breathtakingly terrifying story. We are so used to seeing these magnificent animals cooped up in cages and zoos that very very few of us will ever have any conception of seeing them in their natural habitat, as he author says. It just goes on to show the risks Jim Corbett took when he went after them on foot.

      That's very well said. I have always been in awe of all big cats, especially tigers.

    This is reminding me of the Sigfried and Roy incident. To quote Chris Rock, "The TIGER went TIGER!!"

      @meanderingriver5024 3 роки тому +4

      😂😂yes it did. Anyone who still uses animals as props in circuses iin the 21st century deserves worse than a mauling. Atleast Strachan was man enough to go after them sportingly and on foot

    The ending was superb. Some would say that the consequences were inevitable. You can only play with fire for so long. Atleast, he was a good sport about it and got a tale to tell for the rest of life at every family gathering.

    Great storytelling as always. Strachan's got panache in his writing. Able to maintain and hold tension in the narrative. And you captured it well with your voice.

    I love your work. Came across this station fairly recently and you have re-introduced me to an entire new literary canon that I previously had only passing interest in. I'm quite familiar with the writings of Teddy Roosevelt and JH Patterson but here I have gotten to sample other great works besides those two. Keep up the good work. Greetings from New Mexico, USA.

    Great narration as always, these stories get your blood pumping. Seeing a tiger in the wild must be a magnificent sight, like seeing a grizzly bear in the wild, they look a lot bigger. They walk with a swagger that exudes power and confidence. Arthur W. Stratchans writings paints wonderful word pictures as the story unfolds, and your narration brought them to life. Thank you for bringing these stories to us, your loyal listeners.

    What a incredible brave account of the survival From the jaws and claws of a maddened tigress seeking revenge on her pursuers ,It requires such incredible courage and perhaps a great deal of luck to have survived the charge, Ihope that his injuries completely healed

    What a treat! Excellent audio rendition of this story, of which I hadn't heard of. Mr. Strachan must have realized how incredibly lucky he was. I can only imagine what happens to helpless individuals who are left on their own with no firearm to face the nature's fury in the form of jaws and claws. Timothy Treadwell's story is also another famous incident of such kind but sadly for him he paid a heavier price than Arthur Strachan.

    A tragic end though but thank God that you were alive.
    All are not Jim Corbetts or Kenneth Anderson's. They had a profound knowledge of the jungles, languages which warn the hunters from different other animals and birds, a sixth sense and the experience before they graduated in hunting man eating tigers and leopards.
    Almost equally ruthless are the tigresses with young cubs on trail in the process of learning killing for survival.
    Domestic animals are their best bet but if a human being appears to be a threat the tigress doesn't show any fear or mercy.
    Anyways God bless in case you are still alive and kicking 👍👏👌❤️🙏
