I do not own any of the music or footage. Videos are for educational purposes.
Her routine is refreshing to watch, and great potential on bars. She just needs to improve these handstands.
she should remove the Def, it incurs too many deductions and is hard to connect into and out of; a safer (though less spectacular) E or F release would be better
You consistently have the most informative gymnastics content on you tube. Thank you!
thank you for watching 🙏
Super helpful! This is how I learned the short handstand deduction is different for casts vs pirouettes! I never knew that before and that helps a lot in understanding some scores.
Can you explain this please? I didn’t realise it was different 🙏
OMG videos like this one are really the most helpful content for gymnastics fans who wish to learn more of the technical part of this amazing sport! Thank you so much, I just subscribed to your channel and can't wait to see more ❤️
I love this breakdown
And I was lucky enough to see this routine in person!
thank you! ooh super lucky!
It appears to me that some of her casts to handstands were short, but you did not take off for them. Is there no deductions for a short cast anymore?
yes there is
Casts follow different deductions. 0° to 30° does not incur a deduction. If I remember correctly, 30° to 45° is a tenth off and below 45° is 3 tenths. I think the stipulation is that below 10° the cast doesn’t receive DV but that’s never really an issue as few elite routines have a cast as an 8th element.
@@TheGymSavant thank you, this was super helpful. I wasn’t aware of this.
The FIG help desk last year said no deduction for cast between 0° to 30°.
@@TheGymSavant correct 💯
Can you please do some college routines just for fun? Especially 10.0 routines, it would be interesting to see the E score they would potentially get judged by the elite code 😊
I don’t watch much college gym. Any recommendations for floor routines? or beam? I think those would be the easiest events to judge considering the weird camera angles they have
I would love to see this too! Maybe Trinity Thomas bars and Ragan Smith beam?
@@FlipFlyTumble probably ragan smith on bars, or oklahoma in general because many of them are always overscored
FANTASTIC VIDEO! HOPE TO SEE MORE!!
I love theseee ❤ thank you for explaining it so well
Love seeing the judges point of view! Thank you for this!!
Your videos are always great!
This is so great, thank you for making this!
Thank you for this! 🥰🥰
These are so helpful! AND well made - information clearly presented so we can learn. Thanks!
This has no Business getting this level of attention. Great breakdown
Eu adoraria ver vc analisando a nota de execução do salto perfeito da Mckayla Maroney em londres 2012, pra entender o porque ela ñ tirou 10
Thanks
Amazing work, Emily! Thank you!
Fantastic video as always :)
I love your videos, they are so helpful!
Could you please do one of these for one of Kyla Ross' old beam or bar routines? Pretty please!!
Thank you for this. So helpful
PLEASE COULD YOU MAKE A COMPARISON VIDEO ACCORDING TO COP 2022-2024 OF THE ALL ARROUND ROUTINES OF NASTIA, GABBY, SIMON AND SUNISA TO SEE WHAT POSITION EACH ONE IS LEFT
Amazing work!
Love your videos
so exciting to see a DEF and a piked deltchev, and in the same routine!!
Def
Inbar 1/1 + Layout Gienger
Inbar 1/2 + Piked Jaeger
Bail + Toe Shoot
Toe 1/1 + Full-In
This is a 3 tenths upgrade over what she has right now with 2 less handstands.
can you score Simones US Classic routines, love your work
Great work as usual 🤩.
I have a curiosity. For the releases, height is considered "prior to grasp" of the bar, but how much "prior" is... prior? Like, when the gymnast's hands are basically on the bar or before?
I asked the same thing and there isn’t anywhere that specifies except for the illustrations in the help desk which is around the area i paused the videos
i am not a judge or an expert by any means, just a fan...that first cast to handstand looked a little muscled, is there no deduction for that? i remember reading something (prob on reddit) about lack of extension in the glide of a kip, which is different, but it certainly looked like that first kip cast to handstand was a little muscled/rushed/idk how to describe it. obviously i'm not a judge or anything, just want to hear your thoughts!!! :)
you could maybe argue a body alignment deduction but it was very minor imo and still controlled so i chose not to take it
Are bent legs a deduction when doing it to avoid hitting the bar? Amazing and super informative video thank you!
thanks! yea it’s when the legs pass the low bar
Can I please ask which software/app you used to edit this with the angles on?
i use adobe after effects
Bent arms is also 0.1/0.3 of right?
I was wondering for the flexed feet deduction on INBARS, is it a default deduction? Because it doesn’t seems possible to do it with the feet pointed throughout
It is possible to do it with pointed feet. But it requires piking deeply much earlier and more flexibility so it’s not easy.
It’s rare to see a gymnast do it without flexing the feet. Viktoria Komova is the only gymnast who I can think of who keeps her toes pointed throughout.
@@kamilaford5752 a few coaches are warning that this era of inbars will result in many chronic back injuries and pain down the line. This skill should only be done by gymnasts with a lot of natural back and leg flexibility because the stress on the lower back is extremely high when the gymnast is not flexible enough to thoroughly fold legs with the torso and achieve a position perpendicular to the arms. This skill should be devalued or get a 0.3 or 0.5 penalty if the deep pike position its not achieved.
Why is the angle measured when it’s measured? I mean what was the reason you stopped the video at that exact moment to measure the angle? What does the gymnast do for you to know “this is the angle”? To me it looked like she was spinning around at many different angles
when i pause it is when the turn is fully completed
Question: i see many handstand that don’t reach handstand position for which you do not deduct, mainly the ones from just simple glide Kip? Are they not deductible or you don’t see them at least in the 0.1 deduction area? 0:21 0:28 0:45
Others already answered that in the comment. FIG help desk last year already clarified it.
Do Paks no longer have a handstand requirement?
nope, no more angle deductions. it's height deduction now.
it's so crazy she doesn't get a deduction on the cast to handstand position at 0:45... not your fault, i'm just critizing the cop
Hi! I am competing silver this year and states is tomorrow. My average is 9.500-9.400 how much harder do you think they will judge? Also is there any tips you can give me or any particular thing judges look for?
good luck :)) just focus on doing things like in training and give it your all! pretty much the usual things coaches correct you on are what judges look out for (leg form, big splits, body posture, landings etc.)
@@FlipFlyTumble ok thank you!
How late does a pirouette have to be to not receive credit?
it doesn't matter how late - as long as it goes over the bar it will be credited!
What was her actual E score?
No bent arms on any of here releases?
maybe if i saw it in person i would take the deduction. didn’t think it was too bad. judging on video is much different / more difficult
How NCAA casts are deducted more than Elite casts
They are just different things. NCAA bars routines are very short compared to Elite, while Elite deducts way more on flexed feet and bent knee.
i think her routine is absolutely no sense, she cant do any connection in the futur, especially with this delecev
i hope they will construct a better exercise😫
this routine is already nearly competitive for a bar final i think the D is around 6.0. but i would love to see how it could be more efficient/elevated with a shaposh transition or two. and less turns which get hammered in E score
She’s too short to do a Shaposh but this routine could work:
Def
Inbar 1/1 + Layout Gienger
Inbar 1/2 + Piked Jaeger
Bail Shoot + Toe Shoot
Toe 1/1 + Full-In
That’s a 6.3 D-score with fewer handstands than she had right now.
The layout gienger is the def without the full twist so I think she can do it. Although I do like the piked Deltchev but it’s not worth it at only D-value.
She did hit her Inbar Full into Pike Deltchev at Junior Worlds (the EF routine).
@Flip Fly Tumble yeah, too many turns doesnt work for the E
