Nonsense! The parents in the affluent communities surrounding Newark don't leave the education of their kids solely to the school like those in Newark do. Their kids go to libraries, museums, the theater, historical sites and frequent, band cultural institutions etc, instead of spending the majority of their times out of school playing games, trolling on social media or drill rapping and tearing up their neighborhoods. You get the same results if you don't attack the source of the problem.

The younger teachers and school workers I seen get enlightened of the truth all left the field in real life. And now it's really about to get crazy because teachers are going to have to respect mental illness as normal behavior. If a little girl comes to class and say she is a boy and her name is Randy they have to address them as such or get terminated

It now makes since why school districts fight tooth and nail against charter schools and homeschooling.
It should be a result based system where if the teachers are substandard, they are let go.
My ex wife fought me when I voted for school choice and I declared that homeschools should not be eliminated but respected on the same level as public schools. Every parent should be have the freedom to take their tax credit/ tax dollars to a better environment.
Yes, she fought me on that. For the record, I am black and conservative, she was white and ultra liberal. She believed she knew better than other parents.

That's the source of the problem. Everybody keeps beating around the bush. Nothing will really change until we address that. When we sent our kids to parochial school years back, the number one prerequisite was that we actively monitored their learning and provided an environment conducive to their success at home.

It would also help if more adults had conversations like these in the presence of youth while including and engaging the youth in the conversations.
This would provide opportunities for the adults to listen to the concerns and thoughts of the youth and vice-versa so that meeting of minds occur to the extent that meaningful learning, exchanges occur that enables problem solving.

YES! The physical, mental, and spiritual deterioration of our communities is a reflection that our students are not being educated and/or that the students don't want the education. We test rather than educate. Education IS EMPOWERING, but in order to get our students to intellectual and economic empowerment, the education system needs to be individualized for what is needed in a particular municipality. Trades are needed more than academics now in many of our communities. We have to acquire administrators that are pioneers and are sincerely and earnestly invested in our communities. Sadly, how invested are you in your students if you live outside of the communities or city that you serve?

It is the result of a cultural shift toward eliminating discipline and consequences from kids lives. Schools can’t discipline kids anymore either. It’s destroyed education. I don’t care how much money you throw at it, if kids aren’t discipline they won’t be able to discipline themselves, which means they simply can’t pay attention long enough to learn anything. He’ll, the entitled little brats can’t READ anymore.

I have been saying this for quite some time. Ever since No Child Left Behind you have seen a deterioration in public education. It’s no longer about educating children and making sure that they are proficient at grade level, it’s about making sure that they can pass tests. Reading comprehension and verbal comprehension are skills that no longer at an adequate level. You see it on the internet everyday. You can see a video on the internet and you Will literally see a hundred different opinions on one subject. We are literally seeing the dumbing down of America.

As a Black Canadian student educated / indoctrinated in Dominant system of the 70s and 80s, two of the greatest deficits I now see is that we werent taught / encouraged to learn another (Non - European) language--- We still are not encouraged to learn a Continental African language like Amharic or Swahili. Language is Power, and being able to communicate / Hide information in a Non Western language gives one more power. That's why some groups can immigrate to Canada and the USA, go off and do their own thing and not bothering about dominant politics or assimilation. Also many European and Asian groups can simply Demand Instruction and Translation in their Own language. One doesnt have to be English - speaking to function, own a business or make Money in North America. This is why many North American Blacks eventually get marginalized / left behind
The second weakness is a lack of early STEM education and training. Part of the Democrat - Kamala's plan was to give STEM training and Start Up Capital to all the New Immigrants they brought in...None of those STEM policy initiatives were meant for us.

Theirs a disconnect somewhere. I live in Michigan where 3 of the largest schools in Plymouth are combined and it looked like a college campus no fight etc. I worked and coached in the suburbs and administrators were the hardest working people in the building. We need to mimic the best school districts in America and implement that program in the inner city

Even as a youngster---and the son of two professional educators--I perceived traditional classroom structure where the children are silent soldiers while teachers lectured as a travesty. Classroom instruction full of tin-soldier, silent boys and girls is stifling. You are taught rote material that MOSTLY has no practical application in adult life. Besides being able to read, write, add, and subtract, you have 14 years of "free" babysitting so parents can go to work. For those students who wish or qualify to enter into specialized professions and vocations, more skill-specific classroom time is necessary. But for the other 85% of society, probably an 8th grade education will suffice.

We were DOOMED from the very beginning! Let that sink in. Late in the 18th century Anglo-Saxons convinced the Indigenous/African/Black communities to surrender their children's education to them [Anglo-Saxons], at the same time the Indigenous/African/Black communities were stripped of their ancestral belief systems and were given, in their place, the eurocentric Methodist and Baptist religions, referred to as Christianity. Keep in mind family, our ancestors CREATED CHRISTIANITY, this Africanized mystery system was STOLEN and stripped away from our ancestors and what the 17th/18th century SLAVE MASTERS forced upon us was a remixed, perverted, watered down version of African history with European characters.

If he were talking about skilled workers, we wouldn't be talking about college, as 95 percent of jobs that require a degree don't teach the skills to even pay off the debt or build your economy to do it. College has behaved as a socialism where the government has participated in the propaganda. Initially, the Alfred Binet and David Weschler tests were designed to stratify youth from college into skilled labor jobs. Now, people are being told that everybody can go to college, just as we told everybody that they can buy a home and it caused economic bubbles. Going to college is not for everyone, just like everyone won't be able to afford to buy a home. America likes socialism as long as it will liquidate capitalism.

An example of what dude is saying would be today's public school teachers. You go to college to study to become a "teacher," only to not need those "skills" when you go to work. When did warm bodies beat skills? Substitute teaching entities are making big money based on "warm body money." The one with the "skills" is burnt out. The one who studied basket weaving in college at least keeps the classroom warm.

      @TheBusinessBully 2 місяці тому

Ah, yes, the old ‘capitalism is the problem’ argument. But let’s keep it real for a second-what exactly are we replacing it with? Socialism? Communism? Because history shows those systems come with their own bag of dysfunction, and spoiler alert: someone’s still winning and losing. Maybe the real problem isn’t capitalism itself but the bureaucratic mess and wasteful spending within it. You know, the stuff that makes government feel like molasses when you need something done. So, is it time to ditch the system or fix the inefficiencies? Because tearing it down without a better plan is like burning your house because you don’t like the wallpaper.
