- This is a complete version of the 1947 published film of Lucia Di Lammermoor. I believe that this is a remarkable film, due to the appearance of great singers like Mario Filippeschi, Nelly Corradi, Afro Poli and others.
The quality was all in all surprisingly good for a recording of 1947. Nevertheless, there were some problems that harmed the overall quality. I did nothing on the video quality, only on the audio.

Splendido! Cantanti straordinari di un'altra epoca, purtroppo💎💎💎. Mi è piaciuto molto il finale in cui Edgardo va di corsa al castello per rivedere Lucia ancora una volta😢, anziché uccidersi al cimitero senza rivederla:cosa che risulta difficile da realizzare a teatro, purtroppo.
Qui poi c'è anche la futura moglie di Corelli, Loretta Di Lelio, come damigella!!!🌹🦋

Hi smack96 . We meet again. Any Scotsman looking at this would be surprised to see such sunny Scotland. I don’t think the people who made this film have ever being to Scotland. Bright sunshine and chirping birds. Only joking. Very good film and very good singers.

Simply marvellous - thank you for posting this. I'd never heard Nelly Corradi before - what a beautiful singer, in every sense.
Sorprende, per quei tempi, che molti tagli di tradizione vengano riaperti, drammaturgicamente il duetto della torre è importantissimo e il tempo di mezzo prima della cabaletta della pazzia fa apparire leggermente più “umano” Enrico…ripeto, sorprendente nel 1947…
Vero! Peccato pero' che sia stato tagliato, come spesso accade, il duetto tra Lucia e Raimondo.Con un basso di quella levatura poi!

Thank you for the upload, always a joy to see these old films.
However i find it somewhat jarring that that there is such dramatic singing along with this very understated film acting, it makes a very strange effect, but i suppose that's what happens when you take opera out of its natural environment, the stage.
Ottima rappresentazione, cast ragguardevole, e scene e costumi secondo l'epoca e non con i deliri di alcuni registi moderni che stravolgono ambientazioni e periodi storici...

Em 1969 no Teatro Municipal de São Paulo Oliviero de Fabritis regeu o Othello com a a figura do Del Mônaco, Ilva Ligabue, Alfredo Colezani entre outros. Veio a equipe do Teatro San Carlos de Nápoles. O ponto alto foi a Gioconda de Ponchielli.

Apesar de castigada pelas forças aliadas que queriam e conseguiram impor o atraso cultural no mundo, vários títulos comprovam a resistência da cultura a imposição da mentira imposta pelos meios de comunicação ao longo de décadas.

The only reason why they chose Nelly Corradi as Lucia must have been because she was a beautiful woman.
With the big amount of coloratura soprani of that era who were at least accurate in vocalizing, trills and picchiettati it really surprise me how mediocre Corradi was…🤷🏻♂️
I can't stand lipsync.
