I now have a third favorite Norma, this production leaves me in awe. Massimiliano Malaspina is extraordinary as Oroveso, blessed with a thundering and majestic voice and an imposing stage presence. He gives one the impression of being capable of overcoming a sea squall. Ross and Del Monaco, OMG, this is a blistering performance.

Sounds like a more lyric version of Mario del Monaco.

This Norma is really a wonder.Every singer deserves a very high rank, voices are powerful , but perfect in respecting both the score and the" mood" of every character and of every single scene.Norma and Adalgisa for me are the best ones. Although Mario Del Monaco is vocally splendid too, as far as I can see he lacks umility and sincerity in his acting. Ma come italiana non posso che essere fiera di lui, come lo sono di Giovanna Vighi, una Adalgisa stupefacente.Vorrei sapere qualcosa in più di lei, di questa meravigliosa adalgisa.
