Flames + wind = obvious cancellations of using pyro in general…. Apparently safety is third for whoever hired those pyro guys guess some people have the mind of a walnut to see someone is getting radiant first/second degree burns from it
Ding ding ding !!! I was so confused on how this even happened because who approved that ?! Even before the show watching videos seeing how close it was to the drum riser I said oh hell nah couldn’t be me 😂 just seems like red flags everywhere and no one paid attention to them

The wind was crazy strong during the set. I was literally telling me gf that I was surprised nobody was getting burned right before they stopped to adjust. Maximum effort from these guys.
Definitely got give props to Luke man! Battling those flames and didn't break away during the songs. Brings "bring your 110%" to a whole new level. Props Luke!
Shout out to Luke for sticking through that.. and shout out to Luke for chilling in the crew lounge after word.. seems like a super cool down to earth kind of guy.. but Matt horn the real MVP…thanks for the video’s dude.
So a small spoiler for this video. If you have never been to Historic Crew Stadium before the stage they played at is always there. During USA matches or big time Crew matches before they moved. They would fill it with bleachers for overflow and a supporters section for USA matches. It is a natural wind tunnel as the other side of the stadium is lower and open. So wind would come in and blow around the the stage area. Makes it great during a hot summer match but when there is pyro in a small area like that... yeah.

Today I learned that snare drums have wires :) Thanks so much for all the content you put out. Your videos are so fascinating.
Ironically enough, those wires are what give the drum its namesake as they are the actual “snares”.
I have all sorts of mental problems, insomnia, etc... I'm just a mess. These videos are so soothing for me, they really are.

STF Crew here. DAMN! Something new in the Drum Tech world to see (changing the snare wires), and highlighting the danger in creating the "Spectacle" when you have to also deal with Mother Nature. A very interesting and dramatic video.

I just saw in chat that Matt learned Ronald in his head, but haven’t played it yet. That means at this point, I’ve played it more than him. He’d still be better at it than I am, but the small achievements are cool

To say I was geeking out over seeing the crew stadium back stage is an understatement. I used to go to Rock on the Range before it was closed. (2007, 2008, 2009, & 2011 were the years I went)

I’ve been a hand for a while now and Its nice to see a crew member thats respectful to stagehands. So often of the time we get these sleepless, adderall fueled, snarky jerks that further the stigma and stereotype about the live music industry

Great job to you and the crew/band! You all had a lot to deal with with the rain, the pyro, all of that.
Suggestion: It would be awesome to hear the feed from your ears/FOH, or from a camera out by FOH. There have been times where the engineer asks for you to make a change to a drum's tuning, or play on a certain combination of drums/cymbals like they had you do in this video. It would be interesting to hear what they are experiencing compared to what you're hearing on stage.
Watching the Line Check part and was like, dayum, really good drumming.
