I can't even begin to imagine situation in Afghanistan in these times... Also what would it be like if USA was gonna pull out of Afghanistan a year or two years later.
Saudi Arabia was created after WW1 when the Turkish Ottoman Empire was defeated. The Turks could easily establish control over the Arabian Gulf and own all the oil and natural gas they need. The Turks more than the Iranians are what the Arabs fear most. Syrian is blocking Saudi and now Israeli oil and gas from getting to Turkey and Europe, as the Syrians ally, Russia doesn't want competition and the loss of control that would result and therefore blocks pipelines through Syrian territory. The solutions are simply, but Biden and his Woke Dope administration haven't a clue what to do.

Marhaban. I wrote script for this video. In script (original was written in Polish) it is written that "Iraq still hasn't fully recovered from civil war AND fight against Caliphate". So we know it was 2 separate wars. In English version, I think (I am not a narrator in this video) there is a problem of pronunciation. Narrator, surely not intentionally, tried to read the word "and" very fast and you probably can hear something like "civil war, 'n fight against Caliphate" ('n is very hard to hear, but it is there). Sorry for inconvenience. As I said we know it was 2 separate wars and that the fight against Caliphate was not a civil war. Best wishes to all the Iraqi people. 💪
Every government today is a "Global terrorist organization", They all have army & weapons, Prisons & Punishments & Laws, It all enforces their rule by terror.
A kind of oversimplified breakdown of the Middle East (without getting into the recent history, like British and French interference in helping set up most of the governments and the US reluctance to get involved post WW2). Most of the governments in the Middle East are highly authoritarian, but have access to vast amounts of crude oil, but the kind the is cheaply accessible (not always the case in other oil reserves around the world, excluding Russian oil). They had a long history of playing both the west and east during the cold war, but post Soviet collapse, the US has started to pull away from these authoritarian governments. The Middle East has turned to China and (much later) Russia as a counterbalance. As the US becomes more and more reluctant to keep contact with these authoritarian governments (Biden didn't even visit most of them) they are turning to Russia and China, but know that the US is the better ally. They are hoping to leverage this to a greater cooperation with the US, by dangling cooperation with China and Russia, which is not very deep and the Middle East has constantly signaled it would happily break cooperation with China and Russia should the US 1)not interfere by supporting democratic movements 2)close their eyes to human rights violations 3) restore their full economic and diplomatic links. The US still hasn't budged much beyond attempting to restore some diplomacy that Trump broke. Europe has already done all 3 in the "interests of their own countries" but the US has not. It should be noted that the US can be more ideological since it is very far away from this massive and turbulent land mass (Eurasia). Because of the food price instability, these countries might have another revolt. So even less reason to support them (Russia and China don't mind supporting these authoritarian governments, if you look at the ones that supported them, they are all authoritarian and very violent).

Things the West has gained from backing the Middle Eastern theocracies in general and Saudi Arabia in particular: 1- the Islamic State; 2- funding for radical Wahabi imams all over the world; 3- funding for 9/11 terrorists; 4- OPEC coordination with Russia to raise energy prices; 5- becoming complicit with the Saudi genocide campaign in Yemen
I used to think saud were the bad guys in yemen. Now I know the houthi are no bstter. The houthi use child solder and is genociding the southern yemen. Even if saudi doesnt intefere genocide will still continue. Southern council will never losten to the houthi goverment.
Part of me can not blame the Saudis and UAE for playing this to their advantage a bit, but let's remember neither country has a navy to protect their oil tankers on the seas, the US navy does that so they aught not go too far.
That has always been one point of resentment for the two. Essentially we've bullied Iran (who DOES have a navy) to stop harassing ships and fuel depots in the Gulf/Yemen. After the reports of Saudi Arabia and UAE refusing calls, suspiciously Yemenese Houtthis (backed by Iran) attacked a huge fuel in Saudi Arabia, and Iran seized some oil tankers. It's only pushed the Saudi's and UAEers more to the east. I don't know exactly how they plan on dealing with Iran and without the US but they're going to give it a try. For now.
That's the reason for MOST countries. The USA is powerful, and has SHIPS abroad. An alliance with the US means that those SHIPS protect FOR you, and aim to secure PEACE
As of now, America could care less, about the Gulf, as we have even under Biden Shale Petroleum which means, as of last year, we are now a fuel exporter, which means, DC could care less if there was a shooting war in Arabia. Really, we have already left.
Those wars in the last few years, was a last ditch effort to influence events in that region before pulling out, Afghanistan was the last base, that tech we left behind is utterly behind in what we have now, so we just abandoned it, as we have no use for it now.
You can sit thier and talk shit. We arabs don’t care . What are you gonna do invade us go ahead? How invdaing Iraq worked for you? You left without wing nothing
It's Wild that Egypt in Roman times was the worlds largest exporter of Wheat in the world and today they are the worlds largest importer in the world! This is proof what is your countries strongest strength can over time become your biggest weakness!
Hi, the average Belgian spends 15% of his income on food. I guess the situation in Finland is pretty similar. Most people can afford to pay 10% more for their food. We can also decide to eat more chicken and less tenderloin. the average Egyptian spends 30% of his income on food. And their menu is more basic than ours. Increasing food prices are a much bigger problem in Egypt, Libanon and other Middle Eastern countries. It may well result in social unrest.
@@MountainDewbies Hi Michel, you are right. It is also hurting people in Europe. And it is hurting some people badly. My only point was that it hurts a lot more people in places like Egypt or Libanon. To the point where these countries can end up with explosive social unrest.
Actually it's not complicated at all.. The US and NATO are trying to force the Middle East to pick sides and the Middle East has rightfully so been reluctant.
These nations picked a side years ago, long before the first shots were even fired either in 2022 or in 2014. Subordinating their foreign policy to the power of Russian money. It is the same sovereignty-eroding mistake that the nations of Central Europe made before them. Their decision that resulted in many ill and elderly poor in their countries freezing to death in the winters of 2005, 2007, and 2008, as Russia milked the ever-loving s**t out of it's advantageous position. Nations like Turkey look at Russian gas and they volunteer to put that noose around their own neck, handing the other end to Putin to say "tighten at your leisure".

I have lived in the U.S. ever since but all of my extended family still resides in Poland.
The comment section seems to have engulfed a Western vs. Easterner argument, but it is typical for countries abroad to act differently than European countries for one these countries do not enjoy the same political systems as European countries and secondly they are not ethnically, racially, culturally or linguistically related to Europeans or Ukraine. As such those factors could play a role in how the domestic populations feel about the Ukrainian war. I am talking about the gulf states along with Egypt, Lebanon and Tunisia. I am not sure as to call Turks middle-easterners as they prefer to be European or Eurasian and the Israeli's have a lot of Jews of Russian ancestry residing there so their reasons are purely political.
Not purely political.. as an Israeli, the complete most Israelis(including Russian Jews) are pro-Ukraine in this conflict, but we have several reasons not to intrude too much, the first one being what he stated and the second being Israel being basically negotiators in the war.
@@EL-oj6uq Who are they negotiating with? Ukraine is getting wrecked. Israel always makes a big song and dance about being the only democracy in the Middle east that deserves European support. it is strange they are silent when Russia invades Europe.
@@ericconnor8419 in the start of the war Israel acted as negotiator. They're not silent about the war lol they denounced what russia did, took in over a dozen thousand Ukrainian refugees and sent medical aid to Ukraine
@@EL-oj6uq That is nothing, they are a wealthy country. Ukraine need heavy weapons not plasters and denunciations. Zelensky is Jewish and is being falsely accused of being a Nazi. The Russians are using the Holocaust as an excuse to invade Europe. This does concern them.
Fully agree. Not just for the middle east, but basically the rest of the world. Can't blame african countries, south american countries, India, China or other asian countries for looking for their own interests instead of taking side in a war that, to be perfectly honest, simply doesn't concern them in the slightest. Russia is concerned, Ukraine is concerned, the EU has no choice but to get involved, even the USA barely has a choice, so it's normal for all of those. For Canada, Japan, South Korea or Australia, it's more of a way to strenghten their alliance with the USA and EU countries in case of a conflict with China. The world is not made of two big blocks facing each other.
I'm really glad you covered the situation and motivations in the Arab world so thoroughly. I left a comment a little while back about how Egyptian M1A2s could be used to supplement Ukrainian T-series tanks. The US doesn't want to send it's best technology, so finding countries with large stocks of its export variants and an Interest in ending the war could be a way towards a mutually beneficial agreement.
If more tanks are going to be sent in the near future, they should probably be Polands PT-91s, as they are based on the T-72 and will be easier for the Ukrainians to train on, maintain, and supply (see: ua-cam.com/video/SqoGKEMrTu0/v-deo.html) and are older tanks in their arsenal which have a replacement lined up in 500 M1A2 sepv3s from the US. Egyptian Abrams could be good if given in significant numbers, but I don’t think there is the Political will in Egypt to give these (which would severely sour their relation with Russia) and also their military wouldn’t want to give up what are probably it’s best tanks. Egypt (and North Africa generally) is also highly dependent on grain from the war region so they are going to be extra careful.
@@kurousagi8155 The problem is that it is legally more provocative for the US to provide tanks directly to Ukraine. Russia could easily declare war or complete mobilization over that. That would mean WWIII. Possibly nukes... Third parties are the better option until direct war breaks out.
@@vanilla_bryce the problem is that the M1 Abrams, no matter the variant, is difficult to maintain and fuel. I don’t think the Americans care what the Russians think and if the Russians do general mobilization, the Americans will count it as a win since it would be deeply unpopular in Russia.
@@kurousagi8155 I see what you're saying, but NATO also can't allow Russia to take over Ukraine. What are the options? NATO only has so much ex-soviet hardware to spare. It's true that Poland and the Chezc Rep have a lot of T-72s, but if they send all their tanks to Ukraine, Russia could just steamroll them next. Ideally, Ukraine would have entered the EU almost a decade ago, so they could have begun to integrate western tech into the armed forces on a larger scale, but we failed to do that. So what are the options? We can't keep sending old Soviet tanks to Ukraine forever. We probably shouldn't send Leopards because they have a very easy to exploit weak spot due to an unprotected ammo rack on the front-left side of the tank... There's also not really enough modern-ish variants of the leopard to spare. What are NATO countries left with if they don't want Ukraine to lose? Abrams... It's by no means the perfect tank for the job, because it's a fuel hog and it's gas turbine can be a lot harder to maintain (however that's only really relevant in desert operations due to the sand being sucked into the intake). Still the Abrams is a beast that was built to send the T-72 and T-80 to their untimely end... It's really the best option unless we want to prolong the war or turn Russia's campaign into a series of annexations. Ukraine needs to be strong enough to beat them in the first round. Things will only get worse if they don't. Of course, Russia falling apart is terrifying too, because their nukes could "go missing." I think that's just the price the world will have to pay. What they're doing is wrong... There will be consequences no matter what.

@@TheWazzoGames we do not produce more than we consume. over the course of the pandemic the amount of oil we consumed dropped significantly and that allowed lowered oil production levels to just barely match consumption last year. but this year already we have seen demand rise rapidly. even though it has not gotten anywhere near where demand was in 2019 we have already failed to meet that demand with our reduced production. this is one of the major causes of the spike in gas prices. The US imports fairly little oil relative to the world imports anymore and most of what we do import is from Canada and the Middle East. There were huge mistakes about Turkey as usual like claiming there is a civil war between Turks and Kurds! But in reality there are less than 20,000 PKK terrorists while Turkey has at least 18 MILLION Kurdish population so anybody cares to explain what kind of ''civil war'' is this?? Same extreme ignorance goes for claiming Turkey targets YPG only because it is a Kurdish organization while in reality YPG and PKK are aligned organizations and there are hundreds of PKK terrorists in their ranks, even the commander of YPG Mazloum Kobani is a ''former'' PKK terrorist who retired somehow and became ''democratic'' in last few years!! Here is also US defence secretary Carter admitting YPG and PKK are indeed aligned: ua-cam.com/video/kLiVjIv9fdc/v-deo.html So Turkey doesn't target YPG because they are Kurdish rather Turkey targets YPG because there are literally terrorists in their ranks while any change in Turkish government won't effect this, in fact even vast majority of Kurds in Turkey support operations against YPG as they targeted border towns and villages which are Kurdish majority dozens of times and killed many innocent Kurdish people!! First of all you ignorant people must learn at least 12 million Kurdish people live in western Turkey not eastern and the biggest Kurdish city in the world isn't Diyarbakır, Sanandaj nor Erbil rather İstanbul with 3 million Kurdish population. This is exactly why vast majority Kurds in Turkey don't support those separatist terrorists because they know they would have better lives in western Turkey than an independent country in the east, in fact Turkey's Kurdish population is actually more integrated than some minorities in the west like African Americans. This has negative effects as well ofc, for example vast majority of Kurdish people in western Turkey don't teach Kurdish to their children anymore which is seen as ''our nation is dying'' by ultranationalist Kurds who are the ones actually support PKK terrorists. However similar situations exist in every part of Earth including the west like Wales, Brittany etc and this isn't a fault of Turkish government at all, still they took up arms and kill innocent people including Kurdish people! I bet you ignorants have no idea the second highest casualty after terrorists themselves in this conflict or ''civil war'' with western moronity is KURDISH VILLAGE GUARDS!! There are thousands of villages in eastern Turkey alone and the army couldn't protect them all constantly so Turkish government armed and trained Kurdish villagers to protect themselves until the army arrived. You would expect Kurdish PKK and Kurdish villagers didn't fight against each others but in reality it is TERRORIST PKK which has been ''taxing'' villagers by seizing their money, food and livestock and even forcefully recruiting their children so Kurdish villagers always fought against them even if they were greatly outnumbered while PKK simply declared them as ''traitors'' and mercilessly killed thousands of them!!.. Here are ''freedom fighters'' of the ''civilized'' west and no matter which party rules Turkey Turkish army will continue targeting those terrorists...

When I watch a video about Turkey's economy, I usually see the inflation numbers from TUIK. Please don't search the inflation from TUIK instead show the inflation numbers from ENAG. TUIK gives false information because the Turkish government pressures TUIK to give lower inflation numbers so they can give less money to government officials. They are trying to hide how bad the Turkish economy is. ENAG is a private company that consists of researchers and academicians and according to ENAG's July calculations, the yearly inflation is %175.55. As a guy living in Turkey, you can understand how wrong TUIK is by going anywhere. The inflation in food is at least %100, gas is quadrupled in price so at least %300, the houses for rent and sale increased so much that the government put a limit on householders. If you are a householder, you can increase your rent by at most %25 in a year. This regulation on rents is wrong because the householders will lose money from inflation. I hope the opposition party CHP wins the election next year and I hope that I can laugh when I remember these ridiculous days.
Weeks after this video was uploaded, Turkey now agrees with the bid of Sweden and Finland to join NATO. And it's highly likely that they will be allowed for the sale of F-16Vs, but the F-35 part is still a long way to for Turkey.
as someone who lives in the middle east, I can confidently tell you we hate the USA for good reasons. first and for most you can never trust any decision made by the USA. a president goes by and the next president simply back out. people you have to understand this is serious geopolitics a deal is a deal we negotiate and we settle the only reason to change your mind is me not committing to the agreement or me having serious political issues but you definitely don't back out because you want more votes that is no politics that childish at best. next and most importantly the USA really really doesn't like us. it doesn't take a genius to understand that historically without Saudi's help the US economy would have just fallen apart in many cases, including the Nixon crisis, the 70s, and so on. The Saudis have single-handedly saved the American's asses in exchange for security. Israel on the other hand offer nothing to the Americans absolutely nothing. yet somehow the Saudis are evil monarchs. let me explain something if you go to any middle eastern nation the people will gladly support their monarchs or dictators or whatever you wanna call them against the USA. look to any country that the US tried to fix either with military intervention or by removing the regime by sanctions or what method they use. the result is always the same the country in question is always f*cked for good with no way to put it back together. that is what happened in Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Lybia you name it. it never worked for the good of the people at all. middle easterns don't like American liberal values, American intervention, American politics, American food, etc. so what do the Americans have to offer basically middle eastern countries will take only American advanced weapon systems and that is it. you offer that and maybe we can talk but other than this you have nothing to offer. you hate us, you call us evil somehow even though we are the people who saved your economy time and time again in exchange for nothing. when hearing American politicians speak we say wow those people are insane we do all this for them and we are evil, then they go around invading helpless countries destroying them, and taking their resources for free, it's f*ken unreal.
As Indonesian and member as ASEAN, we agree on your statement. Even we thrive a little to fast, the West will be bat crazy. Kinda. On the one hand they are increasing trade ties with China which makes sense as it is the largest economy in the area but they are very weary of China trying to asset itself more militarily in the pacific namely in the South China Sea.
Jesse, SEA is terrified of China long term and sees the US as lacking commitment to their long term survival so are playing nice with China. China looms as a massive threat even down to Singapore and of course across to Japan.

I agree with 40% estimate on food price rise in middle east - over in Finland official estimate for food price rise by september is 10 %
inflation in the US over the last calendar year - 10.8%. not good!

The world is so complicated right now. Thank you for this concentrated explanation!

The USA has thousands of M1A1 Abrams in their reserves.

People seem to forget that the United States is completely oil independent in the modern day, making its alliances with those states more an issue of geo-politics rather than one based on dependency on Saudi oil.

@@scorpioneldar A report issued in March of 2022 stated that 65 percent of oil we consume is domestically made. The other 35 percent is from the international market. Here is also US defence secretary Carter admitting YPG and PKK are indeed aligned:
ua-cam.com/video/kLiVjIv9fdc/v-deo.html
So Turkey doesn't target YPG because they are Kurdish rather Turkey targets YPG because there are literally terrorists in their ranks while any change in Turkish government won't effect this, in fact even vast majority of Kurds in Turkey support operations against YPG as they targeted border towns and villages which are Kurdish majority dozens of times and killed many innocent Kurdish people!!

In the current climate i can't see that happen . For example let's talk about electric car . China and Russia have the largest deposit of rare metal to create chips and battery . Far larger than middle East oil deposit of oil. So if we talk about geopolitics china if far more dangerous than middle East
Fantastic video.
Respect to Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman for keeping out of civil war and ensuring proper food security
@@MCernoble preventing civil wars in their countries, obviously
Poor Yemen 😓😓
@@512TheWolf512 What makes you think that Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman would have any civil wars?
What are you even on?
why would Jordan have a civil war?
@@EL-oj6uq It was more meant as respect for not participating or intervening in the civil wars in Yemen and Syria.
Wonderful and even depiction of a complex situation 👍🏻
interesting video and i appreciate the quality of your maps (showing divided cyprus, kosovo, crimea being de facto controlled by russia, morocco partially occupying western sahara...) but i need to know: what is that weird hexagon in kazakhstan??
Wait what weird hexagon in Kazakhstan?
That’s actually land leased to Russia for 50 years so it can launch its satalites there, they give in return about 25$ million annually.
@@alialshehri6977 so interesting. thank you
you've gained me as a subscriber bro.
The South East Asia has started looking to China and Russia. There is life to more than the West can offer. We are on a multipolar world. It will be fully about interests.
Its always been about interest.
Enjoy when china pushes you out of your sea's and puts you in their debt traps, likely then annexation.
Great channel and content
Kurdish identity is not a problem for Turkey. The only problem are terrorists who present themselves as freedom fighters to you westerners. Anatolia has been and will remain a multi-cultural hub throughout history. In the photo showing the ypg soldiers, there are photos of the terrorist head, the founder of the pkk, even though these two organizations have different names, they are the same. I don't support erdogan's blackmail-like moves and never voted for that islamist ***, but it's ridiculous that you think we should accept a defensive alliance to those who are hostile to us.
Wow..that was great..thanks..
Respectfully, Europe is not the world. Its problem is not the worlds problems.
Don't you think countries like Egypt are suffering greatly from the missing food trade?
I'm convinced by this channel. I have subscribed. Great analysis
The clip of MBS and Putin giving themselves the "aaay what's up bro!!?" (6:51) gave me the creeps
why?
Great general view. Thank you!
You should have included an analysis of the Algerian blackmail attempt with gas over Spain and Italy, due to the conflicts with Morocco over Western Sahara and Algiers' good relations with Moscow.
Until you realize that Portugal has access to an Atlantic Oil Field that could power Portugal, Spain and Italy COMBINED. So no, once they get the infrastructure, and the shipping, those 3 are practically oil independent, and out of self interest they WILL SHARE. Algeria is out of luck.
Very good analysis !
Energy independence requirement is an absolute necessity.
mini nuclear reactors would be the best option, the US is working on it.
Wow, as always, awesome content.
I think another video on India would be good, from what i understand Russia is selling them crude oil and Indiad refining it and selling it, which is an interesting dynamic. Although i havnt looked into it too much to know what extent this is happening.
Excellent non biased review !
Will their be a video on how africa sees the ukrainian war?
I’m from Saudi Arabia and i really wanna thank you for being neutral in this report
Amazing video! I am a university history student and next year will learn about middle east history from the fall of the Ottomans to the modern day. This video has given me an insight into the current stance the middle east takes.
Again incredible video, love your channel and keep up the great reporting!!
Conspiracy in that world is that ottoman empire has infiltrators who worked for Britain and France from inside, is that right conclusion?
Excellent video. Thank you.
