These decoders completely changed the hobby for me I was out of it for about 10 years and then I got back into it recently and most of my equipment was outdated and I didn't wanna spend a lot of money on a new DCC system and all. I just retrofit it a couple of my locomotives with these decoders and being able to control and program off of Phone is amazing totally worth every penny. Rather than spending hundreds on a new system and programmers and all that might just slowly upgrade all my decoders to these and my DCC system will only be used as the power supply ha ha.
No matter how nice this is, if it's not on Android it's useless to me...
Apple iOS lags much less and is a lot less buggy.
It's available for Android now.
I am really glad this came out on Android finally. I am really eager to try these out. Now with the NEW PNP8 Blunamis, I am eager to solder them into my ScaleTrains GEs to test them out.
Nice review, not crazy about Apple products but might be a game changer for me. Thanks Jim, again good review 👍
Outstanding!!! Love the future of model railroading . Take my money lol I’m not a jmri computer guru …this is perfect!
Feel like this is game changing. Able to rapidly reprogram CV’s on the fly without needing a program track to speed match and test horns and what not without the outdated software and wiring to a PC. Looks like obnoxious UI but it’s just the beginning. Can’t wait to see where this goes.
Thanks for the feedback!
JMRI already does all this for free. And I can do it from Android.
Blunami seems more user-friendly friendly for the not so technical crowd.
Innovation is cool, glad to see it. I can't justify paying extra for it right now.
It seems like it would be ideal for the boxed trainsets though where someone just wants to snap some tracks together, plug it in and go. The lack of android support still makes this a decoder for a very limited market within an already small hobby market.
We have android on the radar!
Great video thanks 👍🏻🇨🇦🚂🥓
Nice
Thanks
I wish there was just a simple dcc block system you just plug into the layout and from there it’s all Bluetooth on phones. Always have to spend 300$ just to get the ability to connect your phone to your layout
What do you use as a DCC power source? Need DCC to the rails, but no command and controls sent through rails to locos.
Honestly this would be a game changer if it would work outside of ez app / blue rail. Bachmann needs to just make it Bluetooth period
Are we getting this in the UK 🇬🇧
Hi
Hi James, How does the Blunami work with MTH locomotives All but the MTH specific CVs?
I thought we would have to remove our MTH decoders and replace it with the Blunami.
What kind of battery is used in ho scale?
I want Bluetooth to enable streaming locomotive sound to my surround stereo. I already have WiFi to control my locos with JMRI Engine Driver.
I wonder what nce thinks of this
Can I run Blunami on MTH DCS ho
Did I miss something, you stated battery powered in your title, but did not meantion it in the review.
Blunami can be controlled in DC, DCC or with the App. Therefore, as long as you have power to the decoder you can run your trains with the app. This gives you the ability to have on board battery power instead of track power.
@@SoundtraxxDCC are you guys coming out with a battery pack to accompany your new decoders.
Can it also be controlled with a Dcc controller?
Its still a regular DCC decoder. Its the exact same decoder just has bluetooth in it.
Yes Blunami can be controlled in DC, DCC or with the App. In DCC it will function just like a Tsunami2 decoder and work with your other decoders.
Maybe one day all this will be built Into the handheld system to be able to run our trains or play with our computers just another way the companies can get our money l just want to run the dam trains...
Apple only? I'm out 🤷
That UI is just god awfully crammed with tabs and knobs and buttons
Will they come out with this for N scale in the future?
