Forgot the Alien heads on the failed splice, just recalibrate, it isn't smashing the fibers together enough. Also some of those failed splices (that are cause by not arcing enough) can be fixed my mashing the arc button a couple times, just don't wanna do it too much cause the splice will fail in inclimate conditions.
37:18 you may also be able to melt the adhesive and pull the fiber taut. If the actual metal support is bent then that is tougher to get it straight while heating without shattering the fiber.
This video has explained the basics or fundamentales that should be considered. It's not complete but it's a great start or continuation. I havr only done splices by fusion. In the early years I remember seeing a coworker doing a mechanical splice and that didn't draw my attention. Fusion slicing is easier than video games (at least for me)
It’s not just 12 single fibers in a tube it can be from 2 up to 36 fibers in single Tube depending on total number of the fiber in a cable and the size of the cable usually in a Mirko cable up to 96 fibers it will be 12 fibers per tube 144 fiber cable will have 24 fibers in a single Tube depending on a manufacturer it can very up to 36 fibers in one tube and smaller amount in the other tube.
Depending on what kind of service a customer is looking for, copper can serve its purpose. I’ve installed 300Mbps in certain locations using pair bonding with the copper. However, Fiber optic cabling can carry way more data than copper no doubt. Single mode fibers on outside plant typically need to be re powered every 20 miles.
Joshua :Huber fiber needs to be re powered 20 miles is not true. Unless ur microwaved up in rural areas ur copper is fed by what....fiber. You can deff pull more then 300 off copper.
I enjoyed this video so much!!!! I am looking for an opportunity to get involved whit any company in the field in Queensland or NSW in Australia. I love Optic Fiber!.
@@OptimusCrlme that's exactly what I am asking. I've been working out in the field for a month and a half and mam I wish I would have gone in with some knowledge, but watching these on my down time did help me understand a little better. I was thrown in blind and I am still in way over my head.
wish i went to this training, but i would lose my cool with that annoying lady lol. Why is she asking questions regarding herself and her personal background, save that for the end of the class after the lecture and training is finished. I find it really rude how she interrupts the lecture. One of the reasons why i hate residential, sometimes people are just really annoying as hell.

Anyway to get your presentation slides or a way to locate on the web?

I did it only once and it didnt pass very well but it worked. I usually just do home runs and terminate in a rack.

The increased bandwidth is good but attenuation is the real reason. 0.3dB/km

Is fibre technician in demand over there?
Learn more knowledge from your video~Like~~
Please in fiber transmission in a distance of 42km , if you check what the equipment is transmitting and is 0.46dbm, or 3.37dbm, which is better?
.46?
After watching this I will make a certificate of attendance and put in my resume so I can get a job with a phone company,
So nice

That lady got really annoying.. 🤦🏻♂️
"I understand all that" x20 times but continues to repeat herself.
Lol 5k, we can do a shit ton more on single mode, FS has transceivers that do 80km easy
To many ppl watch these videos and take these classes and call them self’s splicers. Stick em in the field after this and watch them crumble
So true , and they are probably too scared to be on a ladder 😂😂
So...are you suggesting a better way to learn, or...?
What would you recommend? Got a job opportunity and I’m trying to go in with some knowledge.
