I assume that increasing passenger numbers have brought this about. Splendid. Nothing is cheap and the extra signalling will be a major component . Thank goodness 1.5 times the existing width of the formation is in good order and slewing the existing line manageable. Population increase in last 5 years at Midleton would be interesting.
If they don't plan on reopening the Youghal line , why didn't they build a new station in Midleton , if the trains are eventually running every 10 minutes the traffic on the mill road will be a disaster. The barrier will be down more time than it will be up.
Good point. It would also negate the need for a new bridge over the river. Plenty of waste land adjacent to the line on the cork side of the bridge and crossing
WOW didn't think the route was that busy 🤷🏻♂️ big 🤑🤑 investment so wondering how they'll make into 2 track.... buy land at either side of track 🤔 looking forward to more updates
Tunnel in the woods video - is of Kilpatrick Tunnel - Innishannon. Dont want to give the location in the actual video comments as I was technically trespassing , and had the landowner pull me up on a previous video of same area before . If you don't know how to get to it , email or DM me and I'll give you detailed directions . No problem visiting , just the land owner doesn't like his property being shown on YT.
