@catfishm.1361 Hi there, simply put, we don't. We see it as a small sacrifice not having a freezer through the winter months in order to live as sustainably as we possibly can. In summer, we really appreciate having it on though, when the solar ramps up. As well as Ice cubes, ice cream we really appreciate chips again 😁 We have adapted in many ways and honestly are so used to it now, it's no hardship. We just keep challenging ourselves. Hopefully, it will continue that way, as the benefits are uplifting.
Two questions if thats ok. Is your home safe for you against carbon monoxide...do you have vents to allow fresh air in for yourselves and your building? Also, is your cess pit not filling up with the waste water or do you have french drains from it?. Your doing magnificently. ..your home is gorgeous its so cosy looking.
@ClaireWhelan-s8l Hi Claire. Thanks for your concern. We do have a carbon monoxide alarm and plenty of ventilation. Brendan is a former Gas Engineer so is right up on the knowledge. Yes, the septic tank is connected to a percolation area.
Very proud of you bro....ti's the way forward

Sounds like a good plan. How do you keep any stored frozen foods without the freezer?

Hi you two, enjoying following your adventure… can I ask what generator you use to top up the eco flow? Thanks in advance, Pete
Hi Pete. It's a Pramac E4000 Dual Voltage Generator. Honda engine. Very reliable. Around €800

Also, the diesel heater is outside the building. It's just a warm air outlet that is inside the house.
How far is the nearest village? Do you socialise regularly with the local people in the pub(s) or GAA club?
I've just given up drinking, and Michelle's given up smoking, so no socialising for a while as it would be too depressing 🤣
Have you managed to find a GP/Medical Service near you?
We certainly have thanks
