Just visited Florence today, I can't imagine how Renaissance Period must have been like, important people and artists left and right!
Hate to break it to you but it was worse than you would expect
@@ismaeltch5999So, no Ezio Auditore?
@@stefanospavakevasIt's not like you'd see him
@@JW-lp2eo He’s real
@@ismaeltch5999 it was worse than you expect... because it was too crazy to imagine how so many influence people exists in Italy 😉
0:15 I'm discounting this video because both of the Roman Republic guys were depicted as regular Wojacks instead of as Chads.
I love how, over time, the normans have gotten their own theme song in these videos. 😂
And the Vikings too 😂 (Folk/Viking Metal 😉)... very well spot on to match these two civilisations with Metal!
Can i ask questions? Why Norman or Vikings considered as invaders to Europe!? I mean both are white and both were pagans and both converted to Christianity
@@kemtpesmatic1584because ancient people didnt have our notions regarding a larger unified white race, they simply saw men they did not know speaking a language they did not understand coming to take their stuff and kill them and thus labeled them rightfully so as foreign invaders because they were people from another land conducting an invasion lol.
@kemtpesmatic1584 In Europe, race and religion are not important. We only care about where you're from. Also, Europe is a continent, not a culture, and "white" isn't a race, it's just another skin color.
@@TheAtomoh ok but 95 of European are white people. I mean when i hear Vikings invaded Europe it's like someone from Rome invaded Napoli !!!
Two things:
1) WHERE ARE THE LOMBARDS?
2) in Italy WWI started in 1915
The video is still awesome. An Italian is telling you
Lombards aside, where is Byzantium?
The Lombards are more over in Switzerland, this video is about what happens in Italy, and the video is still awesome :)
@@anotherbloodyalt2178 That is a very good point, King Justinian did conquer Italy
@@alexobretenchev7843 What are you on about? The only part of Switzerland the Lombards conquered was Ticino, which represents like a tenth of the Swiss territory anyways. On the other hand the Lombards had a hold on most of the Italian lands for over two centuries, with the only notable exception being the Exarchate of Ravenna, and they went as far as being called "Regnum totius Italiae" (Kingdom of all Italy)
WHAAAAT, never thought about why "Lombardy" is called that way? BECAUSE OF THE LOMBARDS, whom's capital city was in Pavia. The Lombard kingdom controlled almost all of Italy, except for Liguria, papal state and the extreme south + the islands.
The Lombards are mainly Italian history@@alexobretenchev7843
Fun Black Death fact: the word "quarantine" is of venetian origins and it indicated the procedure of holding a ship outside of the dock in anchorage for 40th days (quarantina in italian) to check if they had plagues aboard.
Quarantena* but you got it
@@cryogamer9307 In realtà ha scritto giusto. Quarantina si riferisce al numero di giorni non alla quarantena in sè.
@@goatboy7698 it may very well be that current italian says "quarantina" but back then it was "quarantena". Added to that, venetian is a very peculuar dialect, so i would not find it weird.
Depressing black death fact.
I forget the word... but European borders had "hand washing wells" at the boundary of every empire consisting of guards and vinegar buckets.

The Lombards? The Exarchate of Ravenna? The Theme of Sicily (later Calabria)??
As an Italian i conferm all of this
So, you used photos of WW2 american troops to represent Italy in both world wars?
And still the Roman Empire was the best period.
Really nice video, just one correction: the Ostrogoth kingdom existed in Italy from 476 to 492, while the one you showed that want from 493 to 553 is the Visigoth kingdom.

Sir the roman empire didn't last till 476 and you forgot the byzantines (eastern romans) to include in the video
omg Imperator
Italy, forever glorious.
The western roman empire fell in 476 AD. The Roman Empire fell in 1199 AD
If you considered the eastern Roman Empire too then the date is 1453
@@mr.archivity
You're right. The roman empire did fall in 1453. But I say the Roman empire fell in 1199 because the IVth crusade took away any possibility of the Roman successfully defending the empire. I believe that If the IVth crusade never happened Constantinople would never fall. Greece, Bulgaria, and western Turkey would remain roman
