    Thanks so much for sharing not only your journal but your story! As a charge nurse myself I always try to put myself into my patients shoes and be compassionate to what they may be going through, so if a patient wants pudding and socks that's exactly what they get and with a smile too. I love being a nurse and having worked in this field for many years I know that it's not for everyone, you really have to love what you do and if you don't, it shows. Love the washi tape idea too, I added a link to this video on my composition journal video. Thanks again for sharing!

      Thanks so much! You might get a kick out of reading the rest of the story about this hospital visit which includes me having to do some nurse type stuff that I'm so totally NOT equipped to handle! I'm not one of those caregiver type people so I certainly appreciate nurses like yourself. Most hospitals will allow one person to stay in the room as long as the patient isn't in ICU. They're very strict about visitors in there. A lot of times they even appreciate having someone stay if you're helping out. If I wasn't there the nurses would have done all the things I did but since I was there and available I was glad to help out.

    Watch out for the ones at Walmart...they're cheaper but much shorter than most washi tape rolls so inch for inch you actually pay more! But check the clearance aisle, you can usually find a good deal on name brand rolls that way.

    I love that organizer. Just checked them out and they come in so many different colors and a couple different styles. Will be ordering some tomorrow for a trip we are taking after Christmas to visit my dad in Florida. Taking 2 of our grandchildren with us and am using for them for crayons, pencils, notebooks, etc!! One in green and one in pink for sure and maybe a purple one for me! Love your videos - you make me smile!!

    I am very happy to see your video. I am writing this because of my computer video card burned and was being repaired 2 weeks. Now everything is working. Honestly, I'm delighted with how you arranged your journal with envelopes. When you make a video of his demonstration of the "raw" I thought "it would be good to see it finished and framed." And so I waited. SUPER! But I did not understand what this hospital?

    Hello-I am thankful your mom is better and that you are home again. I did not know people can stay at hospitals. I thought there were just visiting hours and people had to stay in motels. I also was surprised reading on your FB that you did so much for your mom-stuff I figured the nurses would do. Are all hospitals like that anymore? Anyway, I was happy to see what good therapy your journal was. I have a few in reserve too, should such a need arise. Blessings on your day :-) Gloria

    I enjoyed this video. My brother was in hospital earlier this year for major surgery (in fact, the most major surgery that is performed.) I was visiting him almost every day, as he and I are both widowed. Fortunately, we get along well. He went through a lot of traumas, but to cut a long story short, I think it would have been good to have something like this to play with, as I had to stay at his house, which is 40 miles away from where I live, but closer to the hospital he was in. Also, there were days when he could barely stay awake, so I could have doodled by his bedside, or when I went to the cafeteria for lunch. Thank goodness he has made a wonderful recovery, mostly due to to his positive attitude. Sorry, I took so long with this, but wanted to make a point of the usefulness of your story. BTW, what do you do with all of your journals? TFS Elaine x

    • @ShannonGreen
      @ShannonGreen  9 років тому

      elkeartsandcrafts Elaine Jones Elaine, so glad to hear your brother has recovered! I think I would have gone nuts without this little journal :) I keep some of my more personal journals boxed up in my art room. I pull them out on occasion and flip through them but they're mostly just for me. Most of my art journals and junk journals I keep on the book shelves with all my other books so that anyone can pick one up and look through it if they want to. Occasionally I'll pull one out and display it somewhere in the house.

    I am so glad you shared this with me!! I especially love the departures and arrival board card!! LOL!! It make me think of "Logan's Run" starring you and your mother and your mother is a "runner". Have you ever seen that film? I adored it when I was younger and watched it recently with Victoria and we had a hoot watching it. Check it out if you haven't seen it. I love the book. I want to know.. I ended up opening up each envelope so, it creates a folio spread and then I plan on sewing those together. The first thing I plan to do is to cover up the addresses and the names of all the creditors hunting me down.. LOL!!.. my question was how well did it hold up to acrylics or other wet mediums or did you just use your pens and use it as a glue book. I think I might do that. Thanks so much for sharing this. I love it and I love the dimensions of it and can't wait to make one of my own even though I have too many projects I want to do right now. xoxo

    • @ShannonGreen
      @ShannonGreen  8 років тому

      +Juliana Beasley Logan's Run is one of mine and Jayson's favorite cheesy sci fi movies! We watch it at least once a year. Michael York is such a hilariously bad actor, we marvel at how he still manages to find work.
      I didn't use any wet media in my book other than glue. I added color with pens and markers so I have no idea how it would hold up to paint.
