I love these acrylic demos. The rocks came out really well. I used to do acrylic paint pouring, years ago and had a ton of paints. Unfortunately I gave them all away. But now I am buying acrylic paint again so I can do these. Oh well!
Thank you for a very thought-provoking demo. Excellent in every way but didch the hairbrush! lol I'm tempted to have a go at this, having some scraps of acrylic about. Look out World!!!
Bob Ross would spray wet areas with the same brush method of water with a bit of turpentine. Instantly, the turpentine "scared" away drops that resembled water. He said to use it sparingly because of its "violent affects." Your rocks are magnificent!
Just beautiful Lois. I had people tell me i was nuts back in 2001 for using acrylic as a wc. I think its beautiful. I have even used water soluble oils. People have to be willing to push the envelope of every medium and paper or wood, well substrate. Im so glad you did this video.
Thanks so much Onna, I really appreciate your encouragement! I agree with you about being adventurous and trying new things! I’m hoping to try water soluble oils at some point, I very happy to hear that you have had success with these methods and mediums 😊 💐☕️☕️
@@LoisDavidsonArt word to the wise, I used successfully very small amounts of Holbein water soluble had the best results. Winsor Newton a lot of granulation more than you really want in a lifetime and they smelled bad. The max system was in between sorta okay. But the Holbein blew me away. And they were as fun wet into wet as dry into wet again just a tiny dab on a pallet with a lot of water then down they're so high pigment. But the colors you're so beautiful neon orange Coral Cobalt teal ice green. Those are the ones in my mind that I remember how dazzling
When I first started painting “watery” lol I used acrylic paint because I lived so far out in the country and that’s all I had. I taught myself way before the internet came along. Those paintings are still bright and beautiful. After learning more I invested in watercolors and I love them but this demo reminds me of my beginnings and I love it! I might just have to get my acrylic paint out and give them a go again. Thank you so much for sharing your talent and knowledge! I enjoy every video! Sincerely, Debbie from Texas
I don't like acrylics, for several reasons, so I never use them. I love watercolour. You've done quite nicely with your acrylic adventures, though. Very interesting, Lois. :)

How wonderful, thanks so much for sharing that story, I’m so pleased to have brought back that happy memory! Happy painting! 🖼🎨😊
I agree, Debbie Heffley! For me, there are no rules, and experimentation is the best way to learn and personalize one's style.
Nice painting 😍😍👍👍

Another beauty Lois! ❤
Thanks so much! 😊💐
This is great!!
In thought. I think it looks beautiful, but you give the acrylic far too much credit. It's your talent that makes this come alive.
