It's not just that she can hit the notes all while doing the bass-line , it is her grasp of how it should sound , the emotion. It is like her young brain came stored with the emotive playing of decades of musicians.
Sick!! She goes to Berklee with my good friends 16 yr old son who is just an absolutely insane bass player and he's bringing her and a crazy out of his mind Berklee drummer home for a show in late December!! The youth are taking over!!!k!!

The right hand plays some melodies inside these substitutions, making some variations of C#maj7 and C#maj7/IV, here is exactly what she plays: 1st chord: At 1:14 she hits a passage and her right pinky remains at a high C for the first 3 chords. how jd and domi are not stevie wonder famous yet is beyond me. I just realized I was watching this litterally slackjawed. In awe of this amazing talent.
Back in the '60s new talents like Stevie Wonder were still a pretty new cultural phenomenon and were adopted as talismans of social change for a large section of society. In the 21st century we are saturated with choice for great music, past and present and so unfortunately great new talents are going to remain niche. JD Beck and Domi are fantastic but, to be fair, Stevie Wonder wrote and sang accessible songs. I think a comparison with Herbie Hancock is more like it. Whatever, I agree with you!
I thought I had binged every Domi video, but I somehow missed this one. This illustrates what I love about her - her rhythmic authority is unparalleled amongst her peers (young jazz keyboardists). She sounds like she fully understands each and every now she plays well in advance of playing it. I don't hear accidents. She's just in complete command of it all.
The swag is off the roof, the groove is smoother then sunshine, and the rythm is unnoticeably there. Enjoy this so much, like a new landscape in my mind opens up, grateful.
That's an overstatement when we speak about the dead, but she is definitely the best female keyboardist I've ever seen, her skill is easily next to Cory Henry's, which is a huge praise.
would love to see a table of the giants oscar, liszt, tatum, hancock observing this musicians playing. You can tell the time ,despite her age, that she's spent listening/studying/absorbing such influences. Her style is so all encompassing. Endless potential. Rhythm, harmony, melody oh my.

Domi actually stayed with Louis and Genevieve for a few years. Domi and Louis also made a few tracks on her Soundcloud as well as a concert at Berklee.
She has the right hand of Herbie Hancock and the left of Errol Garner, everything in between, she's a walking evolution of jazz and of course, her own voice and extension of the tradition, probably one of the brightest talents in music in a long time, superb
She is good. She has taste. I came across this video and was totally astonished by the sounds - yes by the sounds. These sounds carry emotion and she has the feeling to embrace such sounds. I wished other keyboarders would also take more care for the quality of their sounds. I don't know Omnisphere - I am a guitar player - but I know that those folks have done a damned good job to create such virtual sounds. I feel totally inspired by such kind of keyboard sounds!
