- Back when I was a prospective student, watching campus tours on youtube were literally my favorite pastime so I'm so excited to finally be making one for UChicago! In case you can't make it to Chicago, this is basically a virtual tour of all the important and beautiful spots on campus. I hope that it gives you a solid glimpse into what the university looks like (and hopefully you can come and visit for yourself at some point too)!!

I’m Makayla! I’m twenty years old and a second year at the University of Chicago. Right now I’m studying Creative Writing for my major and Astronomy and Astrophysics for my minor, and I also like to read and cook in my free time. Great video! I graduated from the college in 2004 and my brother from the b school in 2010. Attending his graduation six years on, I was amazed at the changes. Nearing 20 years, the changes are starker still. I'd encourage you to learn the history of the place. BJ, for example, was once the men's dorm. Next door, where the law school now stands, was the woman's dorm. Now the Reg, then a football stadium, etc.

hello makayla! awesome video but i have a question. i am an international student and i like uchicago however i have concerns about safety. tv series like chicago pd and chicago med doesnt really portray it as the safest place in the world. what would you say about the safety of students at the school. is it safe and easy to travel accross the campus both during day and night?
The neighborhood Uchicago is in is safe, day and night, as long as you stay within the campus and hydepark

Spend a LOT of time on each application - and each essay! Especially for UChicago, having an original and stand-out essay for your application is so important. Also do lots of prep work for your tests, it'll really make a difference

Hello just a tip the acceptance rate does move from 2%-5% it is a very small college with a lot of people trying to apply. The beauty and the atmosphere makes you want to stay the most a lot of people said. Unlike most colleges this college enjoys having its old age and greenery around itself.
