BU is an incredible school! And especially if it's cheaper than Cornell and NYU, it totally makes sense

BU is an outstanding choice, and BU actually had the HIGHEST number of transfers into Harvard according to Harvard's 509 in case you are still interested in Harvard after 1L. But congratulations, no matter what you do, you'll be in incredible hands

BU is a great law school, top 30 in the country. Also, "Big Law" can be utterly miserable and may not be the path you want, anyhow. I have known many people who burnt out very fast working in corporate law.

Congratulations on Boston! That's huge. I've enjoyed your videos as I get ready to apply to schools this fall.

you can do just as well at BU. Make those connections, make sure to get internships and convert one to long term employment. It totally makes sense to choose a law school closer to home so don't feel bad about your decision! Money is also not everything, family matters, comfort matters because sometimes Big Law isn't even what you want to do!

Passing the LSAT is when you study hard,if you can't study or you don't have time for your studies I'd advise you get yourself help like Mr Thomas

I have a cousin who never studied much,we studied together but she gives most of her time to her phone than studies after writing the LSAT test she passed and I failed😣, I asked her how she did it, just found out she got her help from Mr Thomas ..

Sometimes hard work doesn’t pay you have to back it up with smartness🤓, I think your cousin understood that perfectly

Congats on your application success. I'm not in the law world and I'm not that much older than you, but I feel like as I've gotten older i have realised that rankings are really not the be all end all. And (as you touched on) they tend to allow people who don't necessarily know better than you make you doubt your choices and reasonings. There are so many ways to skew ranking and it's impossible for them to reflect the exact values and career goals that you hold. I'm also not american so maybe some people might care exactly which school someone goes to but I have no doubt you will be able to make a great career for yourself no matter the path you choose.

This made me so happy for you. I’ve been watching you for some time now and hearing that you’ll be at BU is so exciting.
This year I applied to undergrad and was hoping to get into UChicago and I did. However, after a lot of contemplation I chose to go to BU for my next four.
It’s so amazing to see you grow and I am beyond proud of you! ☹️

I would do anything to get into most of those schools.... I scored a 156 in June (150 on my first try, ugh) so I'll be lucky to get in a top 100 lol... but we will see what happens. I really don't want to take the LSAT without logic games bc I fear I will score even lower, but everyone is telling me to give it another shot.

I would go to Cornell Law because Ivy League has its global appeal that cannot be under-estimated in today's job market. But best of luck if you value close proximity to your home town more.

Congrats!! Hope all goes well for you. Don’t worry about what other people think of your decision. You have to choose where your growth will be best for you, in various areas of life. Any updates on where your pre-med friend is going?

It's admirable that you value your family and loved ones more than the reputation of a law school. 멋진 로스쿨 생활을 응원하겠습니다!

Brilliant news. Boston U has a great law school, and the reasons for selecting are absolutely sound. There’s a kind of nonsense over this idea of ‘best’ universities, that is far too generalised and nothing to do with how individuals engage with the curriculum or the opportunities, nor how they succeed in their chosen areas beyond graduation.
I was thinking about it a lot recently with these ridiculous threats from major firms that they wouldn’t hire students from Columbia or students from - LOL - Harvard, because of what’s seen as endorsing participation in protests. Honestly, firms have always been low risk when it comes to engage in graduate students. For someone like you who has an interest in the literary field as well as law, you have far more niche opportunities that will likely reflect the work that you really want to do rather than the idea of going into a nameless, faceless corporation. I think you know very well that what they want is somebody who is both capable and imaginative.

Don't be short sighted. With the saved $$$, those extra $$$ could be invested. Roughly 88x by age 65. Save and invest $100,000 once...leads to about $8.8M. Who's making more?
Suggest people look at/revisit compounding interest.
